Chapter 58 Awakening, Frozen Beam

Incandescent lamps illuminate the underground base.

Bright lights shone on two figures, and the cold wall stretched, twisted and elongated their shadows.

Sensing the seriousness in Lex's words, Gino paused for a moment, then took a deep breath and said, "I'm sure, Lex."

Some things always need to be done, and some ideas always need to be tested.

The system doesn't tell Gino which of Bizarro's talents it copied; Gino has to figure that out for himself.

In this process, taking risks is unavoidable.

Gino doesn't shy away from hardship as long as his attempts and efforts are meaningful.

"Okay, that's your choice."

Lex didn't try to persuade him further. He knew Gino's personality and agreed with Gino's decision.

Lex turned and walked toward the other safe.

He crouched down to announce Gino's birthday.

"Beep~"

The safe opened with a click, revealing a row of dazzling and brilliant emeralds inside.

Lex, wearing gloves, gently held a small piece of kryptonite. He stared at the mysterious stone, took a deep breath, and then got up and walked toward Gino.

Fifty meters, forty meters.

When the two closed to ten meters, Lex stared into Gino’s eyes and said in a low voice, “Tell me immediately if you are in any pain.”

"I know." Gino stared at the green kryptonite.

Lex took a step.

The green stone was getting closer and closer to Gino.

Seven meters, six meters!

Even as the kryptonite in his field of vision continued to grow larger, Gino did not feel that feeling of exhaustion.

"Success!" A flash of realization crossed Gino's eyes as he gained a deeper understanding of the system's function.

"The copied Bizarro talent successfully freed me from the limitations of Kryptonite."

Gino's eyes flickered slightly; he even felt an inexplicable affinity for the green kryptonite.

"Give it to me. I think I've overcome these nasty stones." Gino smiled at Lex, indicating that he was unaffected.

Seeing that Gino was alright, Lex breathed a sigh of relief. The bald man wiped the fine beads of sweat from his forehead and tossed the kryptonite in his hand: "Here you go."

"Snapped!"

Gino reached out and gently grasped the kryptonite; the cold stone warmed instantly upon touching his palm.

"This feels so warm." Gino closed his eyes, feeling the changes brought about by the kryptonite.

It's like a traveler who has been walking all day throwing themselves into a warm bathtub, or like warming themselves around a campfire in the cold night.

Every cell in his body was cheering with joy, and what he had previously avoided was now easily grasped in Gino's hands.

"Huff, huff."

Gino enjoyed the warmth brought by the kryptonite, while Lex observed the changes in Gino.

The veins on the arm gripping the kryptonite bulged, and countless tiny blood vessels were tinged with a deep, dark green by the kryptonite.

They spread densely and continuously until they reached Gino's left temple.

Suddenly, Gino felt a slight itch in his left eye, as if something was brewing and gathering in his eye.

"Snapped!"

Gino covered his left eye; a slight stinging sensation made him involuntarily close his eyes.

"What's wrong, Gino?"

Lex watched Gino's reaction with some nervousness.

"No, I just feel a little uncomfortable."

Gino couldn't describe his current state. His left eye was stinging and dry, and large tears slid down his eye bags. But the next moment, wisps of mist filled his eyes, easily freezing the tears on his cheeks, as if adorning Gino's face with a few icy tear moles.

The feeling grew stronger. Gino moved his arm away and struggled to lift his eyelids. He opened his eyes, and his originally dark blue eyes instantly filled with a cold mist.

The cold mist made the left eye shine even brighter, like a clear blue sea containing unfathomable depths.

The next instant, a thick, violent blue beam of light shone from Gino's left eye.

Its magnificent blue light even overshadowed the lights of the entire base.

"Get out of the way, Lex!" Gino roared, instinctively turning his head to avoid his cheap older brother.

"Buzz!"

The energy contained in his left eye exploded completely, and a dazzling blue beam of light shot out from his left eye, shooting into the air like a cold ray of light. It contained countless tiny ice flowers, and the sharp cold light emitted a cold mist, as if it wanted to freeze the air, before landing on a glass jar.

"Bang!!"

The intense, dazzling blue light emitted a piercing, high-frequency sound, like a violent blizzard whistling and swaying in one's ears.

The icy rays struck the glass jar instantly.

"Click-clack~"

The extremely cold light, like a venomous snake, clung to the metal can, its tongue flicking. Moisture in the air condensed, turning into a layer of tiny ice shards that rapidly climbed the entire glass, covering it with a thick layer of frost.

As Gino's gaze lingered, the light continued to erode the frost, which gradually solidified and froze. In the blink of an eye, a huge ice sculpture, emitting wisps of cold air, stood quietly against the silent laboratory, and the originally warm environment was noticeably cooled by the presence of this ice sculpture.

Gino controlled the movement of his gaze, and the icy energy contained in his eyes left a trail of ice shards as his gaze followed its trajectory.

"Huff, huff."

Gino gasped for breath, trying to dissipate the cold energy that had solidified in his left eye.

As Gino's thoughts shifted, the continuously emitted light quietly went out.

Gino covered his left eye, which was fogged up with cold mist, and silently watched the scene before him.

The once clean and tidy underground base has been transformed into an ice and snow wonderland. The experimental tanks, frozen into ice blocks, stand silently in place, but there is no doubt that their internal structure has been destroyed and shattered by the extreme low temperature. They could be broken into pieces with just a touch from someone.

"This is unbelievable!" Lex stared in astonishment at the scene before him, his eyes filled with fervor. He turned to Gino, rubbing his hands together, and said, "You have to cooperate with my experiment, Gino!"

Lex now looked at Gino as if he were looking at a lab rat. Gino smiled helplessly and indicated that he would cooperate with Lex.

However, I had some doubts in my heart.

"If it also replicated Bizarro's icy rays, then why does it only have one eye? Could it be..."

Gino had a vague idea in his mind, but he couldn't be sure yet.

"Bizarro".

Bizarro, who looked like a zombie, cried out in grievance, looking at Gino and Lex, and rubbing his stomach.

"Bizarro".

Gino glanced at Bizarro's ugly face, patted Lex on the shoulder, and said, "What are you planning to do?"

Lex also regained his senses from his frenzy and transformed back into the stern, domineering bald CEO.

He stroked his chin and looked at Bizarro, saying, "Leave him in the lab for now. Later, I'll have my scientists teach him to speak, and then we'll try to restore his normal appearance."

Gino nodded approvingly at Lex's words.

Lex's plan was reasonable. Letting Bizarro run away would only cause panic in the town, and many people would think that a zombie crisis had arrived.
