Chapter 428 Results

This is a cold, dusty room.

How should I describe this house?

It was covered in signs of being a temporary structure.

Wood chips flew about, intertwining and forming clumps.

The loud slam of the door slammed shut made the wooden door tremble.

The originally dim room was instantly filled with light, and every place could be seen.

There were no extra furnishings or decorations inside the house.

A table made of wood.

A man lying in a chair.

A huge starfish submerged in a water tank, and a map hanging on the wall.

That's all the furnishings in the house.

It looks very simple, and it is indeed very simple.

As the wooden door was pushed open, the sand and gravel around the walls trembled.

Trevor slowly raised his eyes.

Rays of light pierced the darkness and entered the small house, hitting his face and causing him to squint.

Trevor knew who he was, and he was aware of everything that had just happened outside.

How can I describe my feelings right now? He had planned a lot, guessed a lot, and sacrificed many people, but it was as if all his ideas, thoughts, and doubts would eventually be crushed by a solid iron fist. Now, an objective fact was laid out before him: Gino had thwarted his plan and his conspiracy.

His ideals and his revenge were easily destroyed by the boy in that instant. Although he had already guessed and anticipated this ending, when it actually happened and came before his eyes, he was surprised to find that he did not have the courage and determination to bear it. He was unwilling to fail, he was afraid of failure, he was terrified of failure, he was afraid of failure, but in the end he still failed.

Should we blame the enemy for being too strong, or ourselves for being too reckless?

Trevor didn't know, and he didn't want to know.

"You won."

Trevor looked up and stared at the boy leading the crowd.

The other party was as majestic and powerful as a legendary myth.

It seemed that as long as this man was around, his victory would only appear to be a slim one.

How can I win?

Trevor racked his brains but couldn't figure it out, just as material things and reality don't change according to human will.

"so."

Gino was still wearing the same clothes he wore when he first arrived in Smallville: a white short-sleeved shirt and black trousers. With his hands in his pockets, he smiled at Trevor, who looked pale and wan, and said, "Our Mr. Trevor has certainly taught my men a lesson."

"You have always believed that you are invincible and extremely powerful, but now reality has given you a harsh slap in the face."

Gino didn't turn around or look at anyone, but Diana and Clark lowered their heads in shame, because they knew who Gino was talking about.

They still feel resentful about the fact that they were almost taken advantage of.

This could be considered one of the Justice League's darkest moments, the last one being when all the members were hung on a tree by Barbatos's illusion.

"So what I need to tell you is that you need to be vigilant at all times."

After saying all this, Gino turned his gaze to Colonel Trevor, who had a cold expression on his face: "So, have a safe journey, Colonel Trevor."

"Do you have any last words?"

Hearing Gino's words, Trevor sighed and shook his head. He stared at Gino and said, "It's a pity I almost succeeded, but you guys were much faster than I expected."

"However, I have prepared a surprise for you here."

Trevor smiled, then with lightning speed he raised the pistol in his hand, pointed it at his forehead, and pulled the trigger.

"Snapped!"

The bullet struck the skull, shattering it. A bloody afterimage unfolded before everyone's eyes in an instant, and the lifeless body tilted to one side, pulling a pull ring under the man's seat.

pat!

The pull ring fell down.

"Beep beep beep!"

The piercing sound echoed inside the room.

This appeared to be some kind of device; after Trevor slowly fell down and activated the pull-ring mechanism, a pile of chemical test tubes placed in the starfish container began to flash with a dazzling light.

"not good!"

Clark was the first to react. He glanced at it and exclaimed, "That's filled with concentrated nuclear materials! If it's activated, it will flatten the entire rainforest in an instant!"

Diana was furious: "That damned bastard! I should have killed him with a single sword strike from the very beginning!"

She genuinely found this guy despicable; even on his deathbed, he didn't forget to trick them, which was utterly disgusting!

"Alright, we don't have much time left. Clark, take everyone and leave. I'll handle things here."

Gino turned his head and interrupted Diana's complaints. There was no need to complain now; the most important thing was to take immediate action.

Swish!

The first to move was Barry, who took off with lightning speed, carrying Batman away.

He knew his teammates each had their own unique skills, but Batman was undoubtedly just a mortal, so he had to take Batman with him.

Clark and Diana also used their abilities to escape the space.

Facing the room filled with flashing nuclear bombs, Gino took one last look at the starfish lying in the bathtub, then smiled and waved goodbye to it.

Goodbye, Mr. Starfish.

After saying this, his figure disappeared along with a distorted, frame-skipping image.

boom!

Huge, dazzling fireworks burst open, their smoke and flames intertwining and burning to form a rising, twisting mushroom cloud of fire that shot straight into the sky, breaking through the clouds and sending up surging waves of air.

The entire rainforest was almost completely engulfed and burned by the flames, and countless trees were melted and decomposed by the extreme heat in the first instant.

Gino stood within the tall forest, his gaze fixed on the distant dense woods.

"This is the planning report I got from Trevor's desk."

Batman suddenly appeared out of nowhere and handed Gino a small booklet.

"His plan was to control Clark and Diana to accumulate power, and then use the alien starfish's abilities to control most of the Americans, so that he could wage war against us when the time was right."

"So, this guy is a strategic mastermind?"

Gino took the booklet and then, under Batman's watchful eye, set it ablaze.

The paper crackled and burned along with the flames, and Gino's gaze flickered in and out of view within the flames.

"However, it's all over now."

A gentle breeze blew away the flames and paper, causing Gino to squint slightly as he stared calmly at the burning forest in the distance.
