Chapter 415 Developments
"What are your plans?"
Someone asked a question.
These politicians are realistic and serious; they won't change their minds or switch their allegiance based on a single sentence. They need to hear a concrete, foolproof, and guaranteed plan before they will approve Colonel Trevor's operation.
"An informant I recently worked with at the Justice League told me that the Justice League is planning to recruit a group of superpowered individuals."
Upon hearing the colonel's answer, someone couldn't help but frown and question, "What does this have to do with your plan?"
"So, you also want to participate in the superhero auditions and see if you can become a star in the Justice League?"
Upon hearing this man's words, many politicians burst out laughing. If Colonel Trevor really harbored such intentions, then they would have to lock him up in Mrs. Arkham House to check his brain.
After all, this colonel had no special characteristics other than his outstanding military skills, let alone any superpowers.
Despite the politicians' sarcasm, the man remained expressionless. He shook his head and said, "Gentlemen, this is not my plan. I simply intend to establish a special forces unit with superpowers."
As soon as he spoke, many people raised their eyebrows. It has to be said that the colonel's plan was very interesting; at the very least, they were intrigued.
"Go on."
One of the men sitting in the front row, who looked like a big shot, slowly opened his mouth and tapped the table to signal the colonel to continue: "Don't mock him. At least he has a plan and dares to speak it out. Most of you will just be cowards, cheering from behind. When real danger comes, you will just cower in your shells and pray for a mere survival."
The crowd gradually quieted down.
Colonel Trevor continued, "As we all know, the selection process for the Justice League is extremely rigorous. Most superheroes can only join second- or third-tier teams and cannot become first-tier superheroes. When they learn of this result, many will definitely feel dissatisfied, believing that their strength is not only worth second- or third-tier. So my plan is very simple: I have decided to review a group of people from those superheroes who were eliminated by the Justice League and recruit them into my team."
He clapped his hands and said, "Gentlemen, the future world belongs to superhumans. If we don't control such a power, we will eventually be eliminated."
"So my idea is simple: we can't find superheroes who are particularly powerful, but we can find those who have superpowers, but aren't particularly powerful."
"If we bring them together and train them, they can become a formidable force."
"Your idea is excellent."
The man who had just reprimanded a group of politicians slowly spoke, tapping the table as he said, "I will give you more special funds for this project."
"I hope to see your results soon, don't keep me waiting."
"I see!"
Trevor nodded seriously: "The Justice League selection seems to be tomorrow. I'll try to sneak in and then talk to the superheroes who didn't make it."
"Trust me, you will definitely reap the rewards."
the next day.
After the Justice League dealt with the Spore Monster, everyone returned to their respective jobs, while Gino continued to slack off.
Clark, Batman, and The Flash gathered together for a small meeting.
Of course, their meeting wasn't about how to oust Gino's captaincy, but rather about tomorrow's selection match.
"I don't know if Gino will come, but based on what I know of him, it's highly unlikely." Clark shook his head in response to Batman's question. "He's generally not interested in these kinds of trivial matters."
"So I think we just need to choose one of us to be a judge. We can reserve Gino's spot for him; if he wants to come, we'll count it as a vote."
"Then, it's settled."
Batman said in his deep, husky voice, "The expected judges are Batman, Flash, Superman, Aquaman, Diana, and Cyborg."
To be honest, only a few people actually make the decisions here; the rest are just following the trend.
"I'm already looking forward to meeting all the talented people I'll meet tomorrow."
Barry rubbed his hands together excitedly, looking incredibly thrilled.
"Ah, I just hope there are more talented people." Clark rubbed his temples with some distress. "There are more and more super-powered criminals all over the world now. Sometimes I feel like I can't even keep up with them all. Maybe I need some people to share the burden."
They talked about it and decided on the selection process for tomorrow, then the meeting adjourned.
Time is neither fast nor slow, neither slow nor fast.
Soon, but as the next morning arrived, a long queue had already formed downstairs at the Justice League building.
The selection process would naturally take place at the Justice League headquarters in Metropolis; it wouldn't be feasible to bring all the prospective contestants to the Watchtower for a single selection competition.
Clark looked down at the strangely dressed crowd outside the window and remarked with some emotion, "Well, some of them I even think aren't here for job interviews, but for performances. Their costumes are so elaborate they could be used as theatrical costumes."
"Alright, stop complaining, let's get to work."
Batman knocked on the table, and soon, the staff member outside, who was also his assistant Bart, opened the door and let someone in.
This is a man who is entirely green. Oh, don't get me wrong, he's not physically developing, and his battle suit is entirely green.
He looked just like those outlaws from the Western centuries, with a green mask on his face and a green bow and arrow and quiver on his back.
"Hello everyone, I'm Green Arrow."
The man introduced himself the moment he appeared.
"Okay, Green Arrow." Barry scratched his head. To be honest, he felt very uncomfortable being a college student and having to go through a job interview.
But Barry still went ahead and asked, after all, they had clearly divided the roles beforehand: some would play the good cop, some the bad cop, and Barry was the one playing the questioner. He said, "What are your special skills?"
Green Arrow didn't answer, but silently tossed a coin, and while the coin was flying into the air, he drew an arrow from his back and shot it gently.
"Whoosh!"
The whistling arrow transformed into a streak of light, precisely striking the coin and pinning it firmly to the wall. Green Arrow sheathed his bow and said coldly, "This is my ability: precise archery."
