Chapter 412 Unraveling the Mystery

A long spear, like a streak of light, darted through the city's streets and alleys.

If this book were a light novel, it might be described as a cultivator's sword-riding flight.

However, the silver light, like Yondu's whistle, pierced through the air, mercilessly taking away every life.

"Pfft!"

After pinning the towering monster to the wall, the lance completed its mission, carrying the monster with its limbs severed towards Gino's location, where it was held in his hand.

"Tsk tsk tsk, this thing is really ugly."

Hiding in the crowd, Little Flash shook his head. These ugly creatures were truly hideous; perhaps the creator who made them had terrible taste.

"A monster only needs to be useful; it doesn't need to be overly aesthetically pleasing. It's not a succubus." Gino drew his spear, while Clark, standing beside him, stomped on the monster's abdomen as it struggled to get up, pinning it to the ground and rendering it immobile.

He glanced at Barry, whose eyes were darting around. The guy was probably thinking about some inappropriate scenarios. After all, in the West, a succubus is similar to a fox spirit in the East, both involving encounters. Gino said helplessly, "Maybe one day I should take you to hell and show you the manufacturing process of those succubi. Trust me, you'll lose all interest in those creatures after that."

Barry scratched his head, then blew on his hair guiltily: "I was just looking at the monster's skin structure; it looked quite novel."

"These kinds of professional things should be left to professionals; you can't see anything just by looking at your eyes."

Gino shook his head and looked up at the sky: "Singer, send a message to Victor and tell him to come over."

"Received, contacting Steelbone."

"Scythe has received your order and is on his way to your location. He is expected to arrive in ten seconds."

The voice just fell.

"Whoosh!"

A sonic boom echoed across the night sky, and a huge trail of flame, like a painter's brushstrokes, left orange-red light in the black night. The half-human, half-machine steel skeleton descended from the sky.

"Boss, you wanted to see me?"

As Cyborg's armor closed, he strode towards the group, greeting everyone as he went.

"You've come at the right time, Cyborg. Singer is busy maintaining the Justice League Hall and Watchtower, and doesn't have enough computing power to follow the team."

Gino has even planned to visit the Transformers universe after he finishes this busy period to give the singer a complete upgrade or something.

To be honest, he really missed those Transformers after not seeing them for so long.

Gino pointed to the struggling monster at Clark's feet and said, "Take a look at these monsters that suddenly appeared in the city and see where they come from."

"no problem."

Steelbone nodded.

He lowered his head and then a beam of light shot from one of his electronic compound eyes, sweeping across the monster.

As a cutting-edge product of Apokolips technology, the Mother Box provides Victor with an astonishing level of endurance.

He merely glanced down, and the Mother Box used the internet to help him breach the local military's internal network and begin searching for information about the monster.

"Found it."

As expected of the owner of the Mother Box, Victor flipped his right hand, and a projection screen appeared in his hand, displaying a chubby middle-aged white man.

Upon seeing the man, Clark curiously leaned out and asked, "Who is this guy?"

Victor stared at the file on the projector and said, "He is Dr. Samuel Street, an expert at the military biological station. Street originally intended to deliver a virus called 'Spore' to the military for safekeeping, but instead created an unidentified intruder en route."

A video popped out of Cyborg's hand, and some images began to play on the video.

A figure shrouded in a black robe approached the room where the virus was stored, braving a hail of bullets from the military.

"The intruder broke in and entered a place called the Black Room, where he stole an artifact called the Flame Orb."

"Then poor Dr. Street was exposed to the virus, turned into a hideous monster with a bang, and it spread rapidly in all directions."

"So, this thing is the pathogen, or you could call it the source of infection."

Gino, stroking his chin, looked at Cyborg and said, "Do you know where this guy is right now?"

"If we eliminate it, we might be able to stop this terrible virus from spreading further at its source."

Cyborg nodded, closed his eyes briefly, then opened them again and said, "According to the intelligence I've received, this guy is currently at his ex-wife's house."

"Moreover, judging from the divorce papers, this person has a very serious tendency towards domestic violence."

The Flash joked, "It's a good thing Wonder Woman isn't here, or she would definitely beat up that monster."

Cyborg continued explaining the current situation: "Based on the analysis of the samples the boss captured, this monster is not only incredibly strong, but also has the ability to assimilate others."

"Without him, they can mass-produce monsters just as ugly as him, and control them with his mental abilities."

"What is the speed of transmission?"

Batman, who had been silent all along, suddenly spoke up and asked the crucial question: "He can't possibly split into countless forms indefinitely; that would violate the law of conservation of energy. How fast can he create monsters?"

"Based on cameras throughout the production city, when these monsters' body temperature is higher than that of humans, they begin to split and spread their body tissue to infect others, one person every 10 seconds."

"This speed isn't slow at all." Gino sighed, clapped his hands to draw everyone's attention to him, and said, "Now I'll arrange the plan."

"You've all heard the general situation from Victor. What we need to do now is take action."

"Flash, you and Clark lure those monsters scattered throughout the city to one place, and then," Gino glanced at Clark and said, "use your heat vision to kill those monsters."

"I see."

Clark nodded solemnly. The thought that those monsters were once human made him feel that perhaps letting them die in the heat vision was the true relief.

"As for Cyborg and Batman, you two come with me to that doctor's house."

Gino sighed and kicked a small pebble off the roadside.

He knew that this matter was inextricably linked to the U.S. Army.

Whether in the DC Universe or the Marvel Universe, the Army is a bunch of damn troublemakers who always manage to create all sorts of problems that others have to clean up after them.

"Once this is over, I will definitely use my influence to get the White House to cut the budget for those bastards."

Gino thought the reason these people could cause so much trouble was because they had too much money.
