Chapter 400 Epilogue

What should be done after a major war ends?

Or rather, how should it be described?

Why do stories always end after the hero kills the dragon, and what happens after that?

In the vast universe, Gino pondered this question many, many times.

His war with Darkseid lasted for an unknown period of time.

But no matter what it is, just like a battery, it will eventually run out of power.

When Gino realized the war was over, Darkseid roared and then collapsed, floating in the cold universe.

This invincible tyrant, this powerful figure, no matter what you call him.

In short, after an unknown period of war with Gino, Darkseid exhausted the last bit of strength in his body and then collapsed.

The end of an era, the conclusion of a period of time.

Gino pierced Darkseid's torso with the World Tree Spear.

He felt that this thing should be taken back for Lex to study.

metropolis.

Although the watchtower that was built was quite nice, everyone was still used to staying at the Justice League headquarters.

Therefore, Ginobili chose the Metropolitan City as the venue for the meeting.

All the Justice League members sat wearily in their chairs, but even though they were exhausted, their attention remained on Darkseid, who was hanging on the wall not far away.

This former cosmic tyrant was thus pitifully hung on the wall, but even though he was dead, the oppressive aura emanating from his body still instilled fear in people.

"How did he die?" The Flash asked curiously, and he wasn't the only one. Diana was equally curious: "Was Darkseid very strong?"

"Is he strong?" Gino sighed. "I probably used all my strength to fight him. You should really look at the cosmic region where we fought. That entire area has collapsed and been destroyed because of the battle."

"Alright, I've said everything I needed to say. Now, I'll leave the cleanup to you."

Gino rubbed his temples and stood up. The long battle had left him exhausted, and he decided to rest for a while.

Everyone knew who had truly contributed to the battle, and they agreed that Gino should go and rest, leaving the remaining trivial matters to them.

Having left the metropolis and the devastated city, Gino returned to the old castle in the small town.

The boy rubbed his neck and pushed open the heavy wooden door of the castle: "I'm back."

"Gino is back!"

The blonde girl, Kara, cheered and leaped over the railing from the second floor toward Gino.

"You've gained weight again!"

Gino smiled and hugged Kara, who was already half a grown-up girl, with a helpless and indulgent smile. Sometimes he really envied Kara, who was carefree and happy.

"Master is back."

Compared to the playful Carla, Fiona appeared much more composed, still sporting short hair and exuding a heroic air.

The old butler, Jack, looked rather old.

The butler who had been with him since he moved to the town was not only loyal but also always dutiful.

"You're back?"

Lex also came out of his room, wearing a white lab coat, clearly intending to go to work at the town's factory.

"Yes, I'm back."

Gino smiled gently: "I'll stay home for a few days to rest."

"Please have the maids bring me a glass of milk."

"I want to drink milk."

Gino didn't know how long he had slept; when he opened his eyes again, it was already daylight outside.

The dutiful maid knocked on the door and then brought in milk.

Gino simply ate bread and drank milk for breakfast before going downstairs to relax and take a stroll around the neighborhood.

However, a phone call from Jack, the old butler, interrupted Gino's plans.

The caller was Clark, who invited Gino to a football game.

Yeah, the members are all superhuman.

Just Gino and Clark.

Only two people with the physical strength to engage in physical confrontation without worrying about the other being smashed to pieces.

Gino soon took several bottles of amber-brewed spirits to visit Clark.

They ran and laughed freely on the Kent farm, and bumped each other with rugby balls until one of them was knocked flying.

"Huff huff"

Clark wiped the sweat from his brow, looked at the football in his hands, and said with a touch of emotion, "We haven't had this much fun in a long time. We've played enough."

"Yeah," Gino sighed. "Ever since we all became superheroes, tons of crime has taken up our time."

As he spoke, Gino nudged Clark's shoulder with a hint of gossip: "How are things going between you and Lana?"

"Lana?" Clark's expression became somewhat unnatural after hearing his friend mention the name.

He rubbed his sore neck, his expression a mix of disappointment and nonchalance: "Just like you said, chivalry has taken up too much of my time. Between realizing my life's ideals and love, I chose the former."

"And Lana obviously won't wait for me either; I recently heard she found a boyfriend at her school."

Gino listened to Clark's words and was both amused and exasperated.

Sure enough, even though Clark has now become Superman and one of the four giants of the Justice League, he's still going to experience heartbreak.

"So, do you still like her?"

Clark shook his head: "I don't know, Gino, just like you can't be sure whether you like Diana or Zatanna."

Gino was speechless. Good heavens, Clark has been hanging out with other people for so long that he's even picked up that sharp tongue.

"I'm not like you," Gino waved his hand. "And they're not Lana either."

"But Lana and the others might be on vacation soon, then we can get together."

Gino raised his glass to Clark.

Clark smiled and nodded: "To be honest, I'm quite curious about what Lana's new boyfriend looks like."

The two clinked glasses and drank it down in one gulp, feeling the spicy liquor slide across their mouths. A blush crept across Clark's face. "Speaking of which," he said, "a classmate recently sent me and you an invitation to a reunion—a class reunion for our graduating class. Would you like to come?"

Gino originally intended to refuse, after all, given his own identity and status, he would become the focus of attention and the subject of discussion wherever he went. If he really went, the gathering would turn into a Justice League fan meeting.

He could even imagine how many people he would sign his name for that night.

But when I think about how I'm resting, I realize that attending a gathering of ordinary people might not be so bad.

While thinking about it, Gino shrugged and said, "Why not? We can go and see together."
