Chapter 371 Darkness is Coming

Bruce felt he hadn't felt this light in a long time.

Inside the bat cave, he held a handful of expensive chocolates and put them into his mouth.

Some of these chocolates are made in France, while others are made in major cocoa-producing countries. Regardless of the origin, each one is an expensive brand and has a superior taste.

"Mr. Bruce."

Butler Afu, dressed in a sharp suit, stood behind his brother, looking at the figure sitting at the computer desk with a look of satisfaction.

That look in his eyes was like that of an old father who finally saw his weary son able to let go of some burdens and live a carefree life.

Alfred couldn't remember when Bruce stopped eating sweets, but the moment he saw Bruce enjoying a sweet treat, the old butler felt a sense of relief.

My husband has finally learned to unload his burdens and enjoy a moment of happiness.

"Sir, sweets are delicious, but don't eat too many."

Alfred watched as Bruce ate the last piece of chocolate, while the chocolate wrappers piled up as high as a small mountain.

If it weren't for his grandfather's regular exercise, Ah Fu would really be afraid that Bruce would faint from high blood sugar after eating too much chocolate.

"I understand, Afu."

Batman nodded slightly while keeping his eyes glued to the cold, blue-glowing computer screen, watching everything that was happening on it. At the same time, he wiped the chocolate stains from the corner of his mouth with his other hand.

Multitasking might be difficult for others, but it's easy for Batman.

The computer screen displayed a scene from Arkham Asylum.

The surveillance footage showed the Joker, still with his dark green hair, frantically banging his pale face against the solid wall.

He looked very depressed, occasionally yelling at the monitor while flashing a morbidly twisted smile.

"I'll go get you some more meat."

Afu glanced at the screen. No matter how many times he looked at it, he couldn't help but feel terrified whenever he saw the clown's sickly face.

After Alfred left, soon after, a stream of black slime slowly rose from Bruce's shoulder beneath his black uniform. It formed a small head, which tilted its head and stared at Bruce, saying, "The chocolate is very good, very delicious."

Batman: "..."

"Looks like we'll be partners from now on, right?"

Venom sneered. To be honest, of all the universes he had traversed, this human gave him the most unique feeling.

He possesses boundless potential and extraordinary wisdom, and Venom believes that following him will ensure a good life for him.

After all, compared to his own twisted host who wore a red bodysuit and liked to search for food everywhere, this guy who called himself Batman performed exceptionally well.

"Perhaps."

Bruce continued to stare at the screen, his gaze distant.

He shut himself off, pondering to himself, "Would Batman need a partner? Batman never trusts anyone."

"The experiment was a success."

Inside the dimly lit underground experimental base, the silver-blue cosmic cube emitted a faint, shimmering light.

Above the cube, a cold, indifferent figure floated.

The singer stared at Gino with a blank expression.

The boy was fiddling with several symbiotes stored separately in a petri dish, a smile playing on his lips: "As expected of Batman, he always manages to bring me all sorts of surprises."

"Then, the remaining symbiotes can be carefully cultivated."

Gino stared at the various creatures inside, his expression playful.

He plans to build a large army of symbiotes and then arm them, which will be of great use in the future.

When Gino walked out of the room, he shook the water off his hands, his face expressionless.

Suddenly, a signal from another universe echoed in my mind.

The boy moved slightly, and then his body shimmered and disappeared like flowing water.

When Gino opened his eyes again, he found himself in a small room.

Inside the room, Peter was seen happily devouring a pile of hamburgers.

He looked like he was enjoying his meal and was very happy.

"Why are you eating so much?"

Gino was a little curious, because Peter usually couldn't eat that much.

But looking at him today, it seems this kid has a better appetite than anyone else.

"Mr. Gino, don't mention it."

Peter wolfed down the last hamburger, then let out a satisfied burp and looked at Gino pitifully: "You have no idea what I went through."

"There's been some explosive news these past few days," Peter said cautiously, glancing at the television not far away. "The Asgardians have gone to war with us!"

"Go to war?"

Gino raised an eyebrow slightly; even he hadn't expected things to develop so interestingly.

It seems Loki was quite angered by Tony, and even rashly used the name of Asgard to issue a declaration of war against Earth.

"So, when was the date set?"

Gino was intrigued; he didn't want to miss out on something as exciting as this.

"When is it scheduled?" Peter pointed to his round belly and said, "The reason I'm eating so much is that a war is about to break out."

"The people of the Divine Realm have set the time for one day later."

"They intend to wage a protracted war against Earth."

"Nick Fury is going crazy right now," Peter said, sticking out his tongue with a smug look on his face.

To be honest, he had never seen Fury so disheveled, looking half-dead. It was said that Fury had been pestering those members of Congress recently, asking them for funding and weapons.

So much so that now, the moment these congressmen see Fury, they wish they could take a detour and stay as far away from him as possible.

"So, Fury has formed an alliance?" Gino tilted his head curiously, watching Peter intently. He was very curious whether Fury's Avengers plan could be completed.

Peter shrugged helplessly upon hearing Gino's words and said, "He really wants to complete his plan, but Mr. Stark doesn't seem to want to cooperate with Fury. He's been tinkering with some artificial intelligence lately, planning to create an army of Iron Man."

Peter's eyes lit up when he talked about Tony's latest invention.

He thought this was incredibly cool, especially those battle suits that could become self-driving without human intervention, which perfectly fulfilled the dreams of every science and engineering student.

"Really? That's pretty good."

Upon hearing Peter's words, Gino smiled slightly.

He wasn't surprised; after all, Tony Stark was that kind of person—arrogant and conceited.

"What I need to do now is eat more and prepare for the big battle ahead."

Peter clenched his fist and smiled rather optimistically: "After all, I'm also an Earthling, and I should do my part to protect our planet!"
