Chapter 366 A Terrifying Night at Noon

This is a small space.

Inside, there were dozens of chairs, and sitting on these neatly arranged chairs were stiff, motionless figures.

"These guys are all dead."

Gordon watched as Batman walked around the seats, stood in front of them, and stared at the shriveled sheets of dough, inside which were bulging eyeballs and eerie smiles.

These people were all dead, and the scarlet lipstick on their lips reminded Batman of his deceased friend, a gift left to him by a mad, disorderly, chaotic being—a gift packaged with dozens of lives.

"These people mysteriously disappeared five years ago after attending a free dental event."

Gordon carefully pulled a file from his pocket and looked at Batman, saying, "You're the only one who can find that guy."

"Whatever you plan to do, make the most of your time."

Gordon lowered his head and looked at the corpses of the men with eerie smiles.

He feared that the clown might turn everyone in the city into that horrible shape.

"I know." Batman nodded, looking up at the dome covered in cobwebs.

"I will find him."

Batman felt a raging fire burning in his chest, urging him to smash something to vent his anger.

He even had an impulse to kill the Joker and end their conflict.

Batman stepped out of the room, picked up the grappling hook, swung out, and disappeared into the hazy night of Gotham City.

Gordon gazed silently at Batman's departing figure, remaining speechless for a long time.

He felt that the city owed Batman too much.

This is an amusement park.

Ferris wheel, roller coaster, swinging hammer.

All the usual entertainment facilities are available here.

There were even circus tents set up.

But the only difference, or rather, the difference is that there aren't many tourists here.

Oh no, perhaps it's more accurate to say that there were no tourists in the entire amusement park, only two figures, one tall and one thin, walking within this dilapidated amusement park.

"I don't know why you've taken a liking to a place like this."

"A place that's fallen into ruin shouldn't belong to someone of your status."

The man in the turtleneck sweater cautiously looked up at the man whose face was made up to be snow-white with foundation.

He was wearing a purple suit and holding a black gentleman's cane in his hand.

He wasn't sure if it was just his imagination, but the man felt that the bottom of the cane had a slightly reddish tinge, as if the other person had just hit something with the cane and caused it to bleed.

"Is it declining?"

The tall voice rang out, tinged with amusement: "I find this place quite interesting. These buildings are gaudy and ugly, and they're dirty and dilapidated too."

As he spoke, he slowly raised his arms, waving them like a great and outstanding orator.

"I wonder how much of this place has been abandoned. Even the tent is covered in cobwebs. I bet there are thousands of rats here."

Listening to the other person's words, the short, fat man understood the meaning behind them and thought that this guy wanted to bargain.

So he tentatively asked, "So you still want them?"

"Or do you not like it?"

"Don't you like it?"

The tall, thin man walking ahead suddenly stopped, then slowly turned around, a fervent yet twisted smile on his face: "Of course I love it here! I'm overjoyed!"

Seeing the other person's reaction, and those dark green pupils that resembled those of a venomous snake, the short, stout man was also terrified. He quickly nodded, "That's good, that's good."

Fearing the other party might not buy the amusement park, the man added, "Regarding the price you proposed, if you think it's too high, we can discuss it further."

Just kidding, this dilapidated amusement park is going out of business due to poor management. As long as it can be sold, it's considered a profit!

But upon hearing the man's words, the man in the purple suit simply smiled and waved his hand dismissively. He turned to look at the short, stout man and said, "There's no need. Although the price is indeed high, I've looked around and it's quite nice. I'm willing to pay for this amusement park."

His gaze fell on the yellowed promotional poster, which featured a heavily pregnant dancer, reminding the man of his past.

A third-rate comedian, always telling his unfunny jokes in shabby little bars.

But the most tragic thing is that he has a pregnant wife.

Every time he gets off work, he doesn't know how to face his wife's hopeful and smiling face.

The heavy burden of family responsibilities weighed on his shoulders, ultimately leading him to take a risk and pull off a big heist.

He and some robbers he met at a bar broke into a chemical plant, intending to steal some chemical raw materials to sell.

Unfortunately, they encountered Batman in the factory. The omnipresent man stopped them, and during the chase, Batman slipped and fell into a tank full of corrosive liquid.

He lost his intact body, and his skin became as pale as a dead person's.

"So why don't we shake hands and celebrate this exciting moment together?"

The man brought his thoughts back to the present, removed the gloves from his hands, and extended his hand to the other person: "Pleasure doing business with you."

The man looked at the hand extended by the man in the suit, forced a smile, and figured he had probably encountered a madman. His priority was to sign the contract and leave as soon as possible.

So he stretched out his palm.

Their hands were clasped tightly together.

The next second, an indescribable fear spread from his palm, and excruciating pain surged through every cell in his body, causing the man to suddenly open his mouth wide.

He wanted to open his mouth to say something, but he caught a glimpse of his own body out of the corner of his eye.

Then he was horrified to discover that his body had turned as pale as that of the terrifying man in the suit.

"It was during the handshake just now; that person's skin is poisonous!"

A storm raged within the man, his heart filled with the fear of death, yet he was helpless, only able to feel his body growing colder and colder.

"Yes, a perfect encounter."

The man in the suit smiled, put his gloves back on, and left.

Behind him, a man with a twisted smile stood stiffly and silently in the corner.

"Let me think about what I need to do next; there's still a lot."

"Rent some equipment, hire some actors, and then the lead actors can take the stage."

"These are absolutely wonderful."

The man in the suit chuckled and pulled a playing card with a clown design from his collar. He tossed the card lightly, letting it flip and fall into the damp soil.

The curtain is about to rise, and the show is about to begin.
