Chapter 360 The Prince of the Celestial Palace

Chapter 360 The Prince of the Celestial Palace

The Sixth Street borough of New York City was in complete disarray.

The air was thick with the smell of gunpowder.

A huge corpse lay silently on the road next to a deep pit.

Inside the deep pit stood a hammer and a blond, muscular man who appeared to be unconscious.

If it weren't for his chest heaving with the music, it would be hard not to believe that he fell to his death from a great height.

"What is this?"

Fury was speechless, his dark face looking like it could drip water.

An alien fell from the sky, along with a hammer?

Gino ignored Fury's questioning gaze, his eyes fixed on the hammer beside the unconscious Asgardian prince.

The short hammer, its entire body a bright silver color, lay quietly in the giant pit. The sides of the hammer were outlined with mysterious and intricate patterns in mithril, making it look both strange and solemn.

The hammer rested quietly in the deep pit, while the surrounding sky grew increasingly gloomy, and the level of ions in the clouds was almost off the charts.

The long-awaited system announcement rang in Gino's ears. The young man glanced at Fury with surprise, not expecting that the king of agents would actually break down.

This made the boy chuckle to himself, wondering what Fury's expression would be if he knew that his future self would actually be dating an alien woman.

(In the TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Fury falls in love with a Skrull woman, a race that looks like a large, green-skinned lizardman.)

"interesting."

Gino smiled. It seemed that the plot of this universe had progressed to the point where Thor was banished to Earth. He wondered if this Thor would ever have the chance to meet his true love, Dr. Jane.

But none of this has anything to do with me, does it?

"Tony."

Gino suddenly called out Tony's name, which startled Tony.

"What?"

"You," Gino pointed at Tony, then turned his arm and pointed to the deep pit not far away, "go and lift the hammer, and I can grant you one wish."

Hearing the young man say those words so casually, Tony's eyes widened instantly: "Really? Boss?"

While foreigners don't have the custom of recognizing someone as their godfather, calling someone "boss" can be seen as a way for a subordinate to inquire about someone in a superior's position.

"Of course." Gino raised an eyebrow at Tony, a smile playing on his lips. "I never lie."

"All right."

Tony's heart finally settled down after hearing Gino's words.

"You said it yourself!"

A smile appeared on the face beneath the golden mask. Tony suddenly raised his arms, and the armor's thrusters activated, propelling him smoothly into the deep pit.

"Wow, this blond, muscular man also has a full beard; he looks kind of goofy."

Standing inside the pit, the sharp-tongued Tony glanced at the unconscious Thor and offered his comment.

Then, he slowly bent down and reached out to grasp the handle of Thor's hammer.

"Click~"

The hammer, which should have been easily lifted, was completely immobilized.

"Um?"

Tony paused for a moment, then instinctively asked his AI assistant, Jarvis, "Jarvis, did you use too much force?"

"Sir, the grip strength booster is at full power."

Upon hearing the AI's response, Tony fell silent for a moment.

"Try again!"

With a roar from Tony, his metal fingers gripped the hammer handle, and azure flames erupted from both ends of his arm.

But even with maximum force applied, the hammerhead couldn't be shaken at all.

"What the hell!"

Tony was grumbling and cursing.

He probably already realized that he had been tricked by Gino.

That guy's smile just now looked a bit strange.

"What exactly is going on?"

Tony piloted his armor out of the crater and immediately decided to ask Gino.

"Want to know?"

Gino smiled at Tony: "Beg me and I'll tell you."

Hearing the boy's words, Tony paused for a moment, then raised his head and replied arrogantly, "Beg you? Impossible!"

"I, Tony Stark, would rather starve to death than jump off this cliff."

Before he could finish speaking, Fury rushed forward, staring blankly at Jian Guo, and said, "Mr. Gino, please tell me the truth!"

Seeing Fury's expressionless plea, Tony's eyes widened: "No way, you're the director of S.H.I.E.L.D.! Where's your backbone? Where's your dignity?"

When questioned by Tony, Fury replied indifferently, "This thing isn't worth much."

Tony:

He, who was usually so sharp-tongued, didn't know how to refute it.

"You should learn from Fury, Tony."

Gino chuckled, crossed his arms, and stood beside the pit in a powerful stance, saying, "The guy lying in this pit is Thor Odinson, the son of Odin, the king of the gods."

"And the hammer next to him is the divine artifact Mjolnir, a hammer with lightning attribute enhancement."

"Whenever Thor grips the handle of his hammer, lightning flashes and thunder roars across the sky."

The boy spoke calmly, as if recounting a legendary fairy tale.

Fury listened quietly to Gino’s words without offering any rebuttal.

This piqued Tony's curiosity: "You seem quite calm?"

"So what should I do? Scream in terror or shout that this is impossible?" Fury sneered. Having experienced so much, especially after learning that Gino wasn't even from Earth, he had developed a strong psychological resistance to all sorts of monsters coming to Earth.

"Then why did he come to Earth?"

Fury followed Gino down into the giant pit, keeping his sights on the unconscious Thor.

"It's very simple, the story goes like this."

"A kind mother, a grumpy father, a cunning younger brother, and a man who has never experienced love."

Gino pointed to the unconscious Thor, and as if sensing some danger, the sleeping Thor slightly twitched his legs, like a child kicking off the covers in the night.

"To put it simply, this is the story."

"The farmer named Old Odin owns hundreds of acres of fertile land, and has a wife, children, and a warm bed. When he was young, he often fought with the old Yeti who lived next door on the ice plains, but in recent years he has been much more peaceful and they have maintained a fragile peace."

"But Old Odin had two children. The older son was impetuous and always wanted to prove himself to his father. So, he decided to do what his father had done and went to the next village to beat up the old Yeti family."

"This arrogant behavior infuriated Odin, so in order to punish his son and make him get rid of his pride and arrogance, he deprived his son of all his divine power and said that whoever could lift Mjolnir's hammer would become the new Thor."

"But don't overthink it. Basically, only Thor can lift this thing. The whole story is just a test that Odin gave Thor. After all, what father doesn't love his son?"
