Chapter 348 The Mad Obadiah
Chapter 348 The Mad Obadiah
"Damn it, damn it!"
Inside a villa, the living room, which should have been tidy, was now a mess, with broken glass and a rotten round table.
The crooked chairs and other signs all indicate that this place has just been vandalized.
"You bunch of useless trash!"
Obadiah, the portly man, angrily pointed at the kidnapper leader on the computer screen.
The other person stared coldly at the enraged Obadiah: "What's the use of being angry now that it's already happened?"
Unlike Obadiah's anger, the fact that the kidnapper leader dared to bomb New York proved his audacity, so while he was angry about Tony's escape, he felt more helpless.
"We should think about what to do next."
The leader said to Obadiah, "Although I am the leader of a small organization, all my funding comes from Obadiah. I can't lose this financial backer."
"I know, I know," Obadiah mumbled, rubbing his forehead, his eyes flickering with uncertainty. "Let me think about it."
His memory drifted back to earlier in Tony's life, when he saw a high-tech suit of armor in Tony's living room that looked incredibly powerful.
As he pondered, Obadiah squinted, and a plan came to mind.
"I'll find a way to get you to New York, and you'll need to help me catch someone."
The man's eyes gleamed with a cold light. Having watched Tony grow up, he knew that beneath Tony's arrogant exterior lay a weak heart.
Moreover, that guy has been getting very close to his secretary lately.
Perhaps this is an opportunity?
As he thought it over, Obadiah made up his mind: "You guys set off tonight."
Hell's Kitchen, a synonym for chaos and rage.
But today, a church has opened inside Hell's Kitchen!?
Yes, it is a church. A church was built in a place that is known as hell on earth.
Many troublemakers went to investigate, and afterwards, as if they had undergone some kind of soul-swapping ritual, they all became warm, kind, and honest.
The unusual behavior of these people quickly spread throughout Hell's Kitchen, making people even more afraid of the mysterious church.
now.
Midnight.
The night was deep, crows cawed outside the window, and the bright moonlight streamed into the room through the window, illuminating the crucifix.
On the long benches in the prayer hall, Gino toyed with the cross in his hand, his gaze wistful: "Welcome, lost traveler, Lamb of God. Is there anything I can help you with?"
In the darkness, a rustling sound rang out, and then a dark, braised egg peeked out from the corner.
Nick Fury, who was blind in one eye, twitched at the corner of his mouth. Although he was wearing a black trench coat and trying to maintain a cool and aloof agent demeanor, his expression showed signs of breaking down after hearing Gino's words.
If any other church pastor had said such a thing, Fury would have chosen to believe them.
But Gino Luther, the one who said this, is an incredibly powerful and extremely mysterious being who claims to believe in God and is a qualified priest?
Please, Dr. Lizard's blood is still splattered on London Bridge and hasn't faded yet.
What kind of pastor likes to beat people to a pulp?
"I never expected you to have such leisure and refined tastes."
Fury silently lifted his trench coat, sat down on a chair not far from Gino, and looked up at the statue of Jesus in the center of the church.
"So what do you think I should do? Spend all my time plotting to rule or conquer the world?"
Gino smiled indifferently: "Frey, your vision is too narrow, or rather, most people's vision is too narrow."
"As for conquering the world or ruling humanity, for beings at my level, I could even create my own world."
Do you understand what I mean?
"I just don't want to do that, because it's unnecessary. I prefer to enjoy the life of an ordinary person."
On the question of what kind of life you want to live, Gino's attitude towards life is similar to Lucifer's.
The latter almost never returns to hell, but wanders around the human world, sometimes even having to fight with the seraphim sent down by God to urge him to return to hell.
Hearing Gino's words, the black man became even more silent.
Just as he had guessed and as the assessments of S.H.I.E.L.D. and their professional staff had suggested, Gino Luthor's power was indeed sufficient to accomplish something as seemingly only a god could do: creation.
"So to make a long story short, my child," Gino said, adopting the air of a pastor, pulling a Bible from his pocket. "Tell me all the wrong things and bad deeds you've done."
"I won't pray for God's forgiveness; instead, I'll give you a good scolding, because you deserve it."
Fury's lips twitched, making his already dark face look even more unsightly: "Well, I really have to thank you."
While ruthlessness is essential for a secret agent, Fury has no intention of going to hell after he dies.
With his mind wandering, Fury took a deep breath and realized that he had been led astray by Gino.
"Alright, I've come to see you because I have something important to discuss."
Fury abruptly ended the conversation, meeting Gino's mocking gaze, and said, "It's about Tony Stark."
The Black man asked with a serious expression, "Did he use the Super Soldier Serum?"
To Fury, Tony's transformation was too much like Captain America's.
Both involve people growing from short to tall, a change that inevitably leads people to associate it with serum.
"Oh, right."
Gino leaned back in his chair, looking languid, while the boy hung his head, as if talking about something trivial: "I gave him an injection, and it worked well."
"Huff huff"
Nick Fury didn't know how to describe his feelings at that moment. After hearing Ginobili admit it himself, he was completely overwhelmed with excitement.
It really is true!
Fury's excitement wasn't surprising; it stemmed from the realization that if he could obtain the formula for the Super Soldier Serum, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s overall strength would be elevated to a new level.
"Mr. Gino, perhaps I can make an offer."
He was interrupted before he could finish speaking.
"I know what you're thinking, Fury, but I can also tell you," Gino snapped his fingers in front of Fury, interrupting the man's reverie: "Impossible."
What a joke! The Super Soldier Serum was developed by Dr. Erskine through his own efforts. Nick Fury couldn't afford to buy the serum formula.
Moreover, given that S.H.I.E.L.D. is entirely controlled by Hydra, handing over the Super Serum to Fury could potentially cause a huge mess.
Gino intends to use this world as his backup, and he will not allow anything beyond his control to happen.
