Chapter 335 Barry Allen
Chapter 335 Barry Allen
Things are not looking good.
Gino frowned slightly, his gaze sweeping over everyone: "There's no need to wait any longer. Let's proceed according to my plan."
"Chenobyl needs people to go, but there is still a mother box left in our society."
"Someone must remain on the mainland to defend it."
The boy's gaze swept over Batman, Clark, and Wonder Woman, then Gino nodded to Batman and said, "While I'm away, command is in Batman's hands."
"Singer, grant Batman Level 1 access."
"I understand." Batman nodded, stroking his chin as he pondered how to arrange the people he had chosen.
The singer responded, "I have granted Batman Level 1 access, which allows him to mobilize all members of the Justice League."
"And what about you?"
Clark looked at Gino curiously: "Can one person manage?"
"one person?"
Gino smiled and shook his head: "I don't consider myself a person."
"It's a good opportunity to add some new faces to the league."
Ten minutes ago.
Chernobyl.
A place to be exiled.
The place of divine curse.
Overgrown with weeds, the massive, abandoned, snow-tube-shaped nuclear power plant sits atop the highest point of the deserted city.
The dilapidated houses, the neglected streets, the hazy sky, and even the eight-legged genetically mutated rabbits that occasionally dart through the grass all attest to the harshness of the environment here—an extreme case of it.
"boom!"
A massive silver pillar of light descended, and a figure led a group of Parademons, flapping their wings and fluttering about, out of the pillar.
"We've arrived."
The massive iron boots trod on the tattered red cloth. Steppenwolf raised its head, sniffed, and a satisfied look appeared on its face: "The poison here is very strong."
High toxicity and harsh environment mean it's unsuitable for life on this planet, but suitable as a base camp—or rather, a vanguard for Darkseid's invasion of the world.
Swish!
Its enormous body rose from the ground and leaped into the abandoned nuclear power plant.
Darkseid looked down at the mother box in his hand, then shoved it hard into the steel pillar.
Orange light flickered, decomposing and reconstructing a twisted tower that stretched to the sky.
"go!"
Steppenwolf grabbed a Parademon by the neck and tossed it high into the air: "Go and find the Mother Box!"
"Find them all! Form a unified force, and then..."
Steppenwolf lowered his head, a fervent glint in his eyes: "Darkseid will see my worth again, and I will return to his side!"
Countless Parademons flapped their wings and disappeared into the sky. Steppenwolf raised his hand and pressed it against the tower formed from the Mother Box, whispering, "Deshad! I'm looking for you!"
As he shouted, the iron blocks on the tower deformed and reassembled into a tall alien creature cast in steel.
Steppenwolf.
The guy called Disad had his head down, staring at the Steppenwolf who was a head shorter than him.
The eyes beneath the hood gleamed with a scarlet light: "Have you collected all three Mother Boxes?"
"This world is falling apart." Steppenwolf swung his battle axe, looking up at the world. "Humans are uncivilized creatures. They only like to kill each other. There is no unity, no hope, and no technology."
"Under the glory of Apokolips, they will soon kneel before our conquest, and I will collect the three Mother Boxes to conquer Earth, welcoming the arrival of the great Dark Lord!"
Hearing Steppenwolf's words, Disadad remained expressionless: "I'm asking you, how many of the three Mother Boxes did you find?"
"One," Steppenwolf said truthfully. "The other two Mother Boxes are still dormant."
"But Parademons can sense their presence."
"It won't be long before I find three mother boxes."
"Very good." Disadard smiled with satisfaction, but then looked intently at Steppenwolf and said, "Remember that you committed the sin of betrayal. As punishment, you must conquer 50,000 worlds for Darkseid. This is 49,999. I hope you can succeed, Steppenwolf."
"At that time, I will convey your loyalty to the great Lord of Darkness."
"I see."
The Steppenwolf slowly lowered its head.
The conversation between the two dates back to a time when Darkseid had just become the ruler of Apokolips. After his defeat on Earth, Darkseid returned to Apokolips and was betrayed by his opponents, including Steppenwolf, who had coveted the throne and wanted to steal it.
But the Dark Lord lived up to his name; he easily quelled the rebellion and banished all the Apokolips citizens who had betrayed him.
The unfortunate Steppenwolf was never able to return home and was banished to the universe for thousands of years until a Mother Box on Earth awakened him and brought him back to Earth.
So, are you confident in yourself?
Disadard asked again.
"This planet is different from the barren planets you usually conquer. It is magnificent and beautiful. At the same time, it is inhabited by people with special abilities."
"I learned about an organization called the Justice League through their network."
Disad stared at Steppenwolf and said, "You'd better be careful. I've heard that the leader of the Justice League is terrifying. He's killed many creatures that dared to invade Earth."
"No." Steppenwolf shook his head, his gaze resolute: "I investigated that human. He is neither a Kryptonian nor a member of the Green Lantern Corps."
"To me, he's just an ordinary human being with some extraordinary abilities!"
Steppenwolf raised his battle axe: "If he dares to stand in my way, I'll chop him to death with this weapon."
"This world will eventually fall, just like any other world!"
Central City.
Hey, good morning!
Pushing open the glass door, a young boy with black hair walked into a convenience store with a smile on his face.
A Black girl brushed past him, and the two smiled at each other through the glass. The boy rubbed his nose, pulled a crumpled resume from his pocket, and handed it to the convenience store owner: "Hello, ma'am, I'm here for an interview."
"Barry Allen?"
The middle-aged white woman looked down at the resume in her hand, raised an eyebrow slightly, and said, "You also have experience walking dogs?"
Just as the two were talking, the Black girl outside the window got into her car and drove toward the intersection.
On the road not far from the intersection, a heavy truck was driving.
"Oh, my donuts!"
The truck driver dropped the donut from his seat. He bent down to cut it, completely unaware that the traffic light in the distance had turned red and stopped the road.
"Buzz!"
The car sped off towards the other end of the road, while the truck rushed toward it at a considerable speed!
"Bang!"
The truck's front end crashed into the side of the car, and the terrified screaming girl and the bewildered truck driver together formed a line between life and death!
