Chapter 144 Reuniting You

The lobby of the Smallville Police Station.

"We're going to sue! We're going to file a lawsuit in court!"

Byron's mother, her eyes filled with tears, stared intently at the languid-looking young man across the table.

The other party showed no remorse whatsoever, and even had an attitude of "Byron deserves to die".

"A lawsuit?" Gino seemed to have heard something amusing, and tapped the table with a laugh. "Your son broke into my house without permission and injured the manor's guards."

"If you want to file a lawsuit, then go ahead and do it. I can even kindly help you find a lawyer."

Gino fiddled with the pen on the table and said calmly, "However, I need to remind you that the best legal team in the United States will be on my side, and the surveillance footage inside the estate will prove that your son trespassed on private property."

"Just a side note."

Gino put down his pen: "The local judge is also a friend of the Luther family."

"I could even give you a fortune that you could never afford if I wanted to."

"So if you don't want to go bankrupt, this matter ends here."

Gino stood up. He didn't intend to stay there. There were still many things to deal with, and Lana and Chloe, who were stunned, needed to be comforted. Perhaps he should cast a spell to erase the two women's memories of this story.

Before leaving, the boy didn't forget to deliver another blow to Byron's stunned mother's heart: "And perhaps you should thank me for getting rid of a burden that held you back."

"Yes, you're welcome."

*Smack!*

The door closed, and the sheriff, who had been hiding in the corner, slowly walked to the table opposite Byron's parents.

I'm sorry.

The sheriff apologetically took off his hat and looked at the middle-aged woman who was holding her husband and crying.

The woman's eyes were filled with tears; she was clearly unable to accept the news of their son's death.

What she found even more unacceptable was Gino’s attitude.

"Sheriff! The man who killed Byron was Gino Luther, and he should be brought to trial!"

Byron's mother gritted her teeth, stared up at the sheriff, and said through gritted teeth, "He even burned my son to death with a flamethrower! This is murder, this is a crime!"

Yes, in order to cover up certain things, Gino changed the story to Byron's cause of death as a flamethrower.

As for whether others believe it or not?

Under American law, it is not illegal to shoot anyone who trespasses on a private property without the homeowner's consent.

The sheriff shrugged: "I'm sorry, but their actions were reasonable and lawful. Your son did indeed break into their estate and even injured several guards."

"According to the law, it's not illegal for them to shoot and kill your son."

Just kidding, he's not some brainwashed leftist. He's just a cop to make a living, why would he offend the powerful Luther family for someone he doesn't even know?

But the last vestige of his conscience compelled him to speak up and remind them, "Besides, you're not in the right in this matter. My advice is to let it go."

"No, he will definitely pay the price for this!"

As the sheriff had predicted, Byron's mother, a plump middle-aged woman, had hatred in her eyes and wouldn't listen to the sheriff's advice at all.

"Even though my son broke into someone else's home, does that mean the person who killed my child is completely without fault?"

"Then I wish you good luck."

Unable to persuade the stubborn woman, the sheriff gave up, put on his hat, and left the waiting room.

After the man left, Byron's mother looked at her husband: "Hayt! We must avenge Byron!"

"Um, Helena, perhaps we should let go of our hatred."

Byron's father, a tall, thin, middle-aged white man, touched his nose.

Unlike his wife, the old man had little affection for Byron; he felt mostly disgust.

"And it's the same as what the sheriff said."

He patted his wife on the shoulder: "This land belongs to the rich."

"Besides, Byron was always a madman."

The woman's husband smiled knowingly. "Perhaps, from now on, we should enjoy our lives?"

"Shut up!"

The woman angrily shoved her husband away, staring at him with disappointed eyes: "I never imagined you secretly hoped for Byron's death!"

"Fine, if you're unwilling, then I'll personally avenge Byron!"

The morning after tomorrow.

Luther Chemical Plant.

"Buzz~"

A silver-white Bugatti sports car roared along the road leading to the factory.

The air in the small town was crisp and refreshing in the early morning, and crystal-clear dewdrops hung on the grass and branches along the roadside.

Gino was driving.

The trees on both sides of the road swept away at an extremely fast speed.

"So, you've achieved something?" Gino held the steering wheel with one hand and answered the phone call from Lex with the other.

"I understand, I'll be right there."

He hung up the phone and slammed on the gas, shifting gears and making the already fast sports car even faster, like a streak of light flashing by, kicking up dust from the road.

Just as the factory's iron gate came into view and Gino was about to brake and stop the car, a figure suddenly darted out from the dense woods on the side of the road.

We have been waiting for a long time.

Byron's mother, with a fierce face, wore a floral dress and held a large shotgun in her chubby hands.

The fact that her dress was wet with dew suggested that she had been hiding in the bushes for quite some time.

Her eyes gleamed with hatred.

The woman raised her shotgun, gritting her teeth as she shouted, "This shot is for Byron!"

So what if they're rich? Everyone is equal before firearms!

Pulling the trigger, flames erupted from the gun barrel.

"boom!"

The powerful recoil caused the woman to fall awkwardly into the grass.

The streaks of light shot blasted towards the boy inside the Bugatti sports car.

A flicker of triumphant satisfaction flashed in Byron's mother's eyes.

She avenged Byron!

"Bang!"

Shotguns shattered the car windows, and countless deadly pellets rained down on the driver's seat.

She could even foresee the sight of the other person covered in blood.

but.

Just a few seconds later, the smoke from the gun barrel dissipated, and the driver's seat of the sports car was empty.

"What?"

Byron's mother looked like she had seen a ghost, but the next moment, a blond boy in a white shirt seemed to appear out of thin air in front of her.

Gino stared at the woman expressionlessly, his hand gripping the barrel of the gun and giving it a light squeeze.

The steel gun barrel groaned and twisted, its straight lines violently destroyed into a tangled mess of iron.

"Yes, we met this morning. You're Byron's mother, right?" Gino withdrew his arm, staring at the woman with a cold expression.

He glanced at the broken windshield of the car Lex had given him, and his already indifferent expression grew even colder.

"I have two options," Gino said, holding up two fingers. "First, be burned to death."

"Second, they could freeze to death."

"What do you want to choose?"

"What?" Helena looked blank, having no idea what Gino was talking about.

But soon, a red beam of light flashed, followed by excruciating pain.

"Ah!" Helena screamed like a pig being slaughtered, looking at her empty right arm.

Her entire arm was completely severed by an unknown red light, and the severed limb lay quietly on the grass. The extreme pain nearly made her faint.

"It seems you don't like the first one." The red light in Gino's eyes faded, replaced by a bright blue glow.

"Buzz!"

An extreme cold wave swept over Helena's body, freezing her horrified screams into an ice sculpture.

Gino looked into the ice sculpture's eyes and shook his head: "Remember not to mess with Luther in your next life."

After saying that, the boy opened his mouth and blew gently, and the originally solid ice sculpture shattered into thousands of broken ice shards that covered the grass.

I'm about to push into the multiverse storyline, and I think I can write some really cool stuff. Let's work hard! Tomorrow I'll work on the outline of the dungeons and the plan for the protagonist's future power building. Also, I need to put buying the comics on the agenda, blah blah blah.
