Hogwarts: From Selling White Peppers to Becoming a God
Chapter 85 The Magic Wand Flies In
Chapter 85 The Magic Wand Flies In
"Cough cough..."
Murphy coughed, picked up his briefcase, and returned to the Jeep.
Selica suddenly appeared out of nowhere. "Murphy, you're hurt!"
"It's okay, the other person is in a worse situation, haha."
That attack, which sent sand and stones flying everywhere, was quite impressive, but Murphy was still quite pleased with himself. His opponent was a master, but he still managed to win!
So exhilarating! So exhilarating!
He's almost starting to like this feeling.
I heard there used to be a secret dueling club called "Silver Spear," which only accepted wizards who used aspen wands as its members. I wonder if it still exists now.
Perhaps I could write a letter to Professor Filius later and ask him if he, being a dueling champion in his youth, might have some connections.
"I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do to help." Selica felt very guilty.
She had just seen Murphy and that strange man fighting with magic like Apparition and Disillusionment. Although she was anxious and wanted to help, she couldn't even see their shadows clearly, let alone fight them.
Ultimately, she was just an ordinary office worker who had never experienced real combat.
Even if she went up there, she would be instantly killed by the other party, and might even distract Murphy.
"You don't do this kind of work, so I wasn't expecting anything from you anyway. Come here and take a look at my back."
Murphy's clothes were blown to shreds, and his bulletproof vest underneath was torn to shreds. With Selica's help, he managed to take it off.
He glanced at the steel plates inside the bulletproof vest that had been bent by the immense force of the explosion, and suddenly felt a chill of fear. The power was truly terrifying; if it weren't for this layer of protection, he might have been dead!
Even so, his back was still covered in bruises and had several contusions.
He didn't have a good solution for the bruises at the moment, so he had Selica spray some white medicine on them, and Murphy didn't bother with them anymore.
After getting Serika into the car, the two drove directly to Joachim's house.
He wanted to solve the problem of being unable to leave the village.
And having taken down the boss, the next step is naturally to raid his lair, since the Seed of the Soul, his purpose for coming here, hasn't been revealed yet.
There were still some zombies that hadn't been killed in the houses ahead, all desperately trying to hide themselves. Murphy ignored them, planning to come back and deal with them later.
As they passed through those transparent ghosts, who were furious and wanted to capture Murphy, they were helpless to find that they were completely powerless against him after he lost his body.
Murphy laughed heartily, but Selica felt quite apologetic. The villagers had treated her quite well during the few days she had spent there.
"Serica, go up there and use the flamethrower to burn all these corpses."
Since Selica can't drive, she's the only one left to burn the bodies.
"Huh?" Celica was a little reluctant, but considering that Murphy had fought so hard and was injured, she didn't want to go against his wishes and climbed onto the roof of the car.
The flamethrower was very easy to operate, and since it was mounted on the roof of the vehicle, it had little recoil. Even though Selica was a wizard and had never seen such a thing before, she quickly learned how to use it under Murphy's guidance.
She tried pulling the trigger and was immediately startled by the flames that shot out dozens of meters high.
What terrifying power!
Only after operating it herself did she truly grasp the terror of this Muggle weapon.
Compared to that, raging flames seem like child's play magic.
No wonder Murphy said Muggles are better than wizards.
He didn't lie to me.
"I'm sorry, everyone..." Serica apologized to the villagers in her heart, then pulled the trigger again.
"Huff, huff..."
The boiling flames set the bodies, which had become dry and flammable over the centuries, ablaze, and the area behind the jeep quickly turned into a sea of fire.
Selica stared in disbelief at the mess she had made, but soon she noticed something unusual.
"Murphy! Something's wrong! Joachim!"
Murphy glanced back and saw on the other side of the inferno, at the spot where the C4 had exploded, a semi-transparent bird-beak masked monster soared into the sky and then chased after their jeep.
This ghost was somewhat unusual, its body seemingly shimmering with some kind of blood-red eerie light.
But Murphy didn't care much. What can you do now that you've become a ghost?
However, Joachim's ghost still held a wand in his hand. He raised the wand and shouted, "Sandstorm!"
A spark of magic struck the jeep instantly, as if it had been rammed hard in the rear by a bull. The vehicle went out of control, suddenly veered sideways, and then, due to the immense inertia, overturned after hitting something. It rolled twice on the ground before finally coming to rest.
Murphy was completely disoriented from the impact, and his mind was in a daze.
How the hell can this ghost use spells?!
But before he could figure it out, the ghost's next spell came: "Thunder Explosion!"
"No!" Murphy didn't have time to think and grabbed Celica's hand. "Apparition!"
They had just disappeared when the ghost's spell struck the fuel tank. With a "boom," the fuel tank exploded, and flames instantly engulfed the jeep completely. A moment later, there was another boom, and the flamethrower on the roof, which had been shattered earlier, also detonated.
Near the small bridge, Murphy and Selica suddenly materialized as if they had bumped into something, falling from the air and crashing to the ground with a thud.
After a while, Murphy sat up blankly and suddenly felt a sharp pain. Looking down, he saw that his left arm and left leg had been twisted by some terrible force.
Muscles torn apart, blood vessels ruptured, and even bones were exposed.
Separation phenomenon!
In the instant he apparated, the first target that flashed through his mind was actually the mansion. He then realized that he couldn't leave the village by apparition, so he changed his target to the small bridge. However, this instantaneous change of location, although it allowed him to apparate, also caused the splitting phenomenon to occur.
"Serica!" Murphy called out, but there was no response. Serica lay beside him, her life hanging in the balance.
And his wand had disappeared somewhere.
The tactical belt around his waist had been removed and placed in the car while he was treating his back wound, so he didn't have a spare wand.
He did bring the suitcase with him, and it was still open, but it was lying far away, out of his reach.
It's over.
The excruciating pain made him dizzy, and his body was still losing blood. If he lost consciousness now, he might never wake up again.
"Wand, come here!" he tried to reach out and called out.
Nothing happened.
He didn't know the technique of wandless spellcasting; the school hadn't taught it, and he'd always had a spare wand, so learning it wasn't a priority for him.
"FXXK!"
In the distance, a ghost with an unusual blood-red color has risen high into the sky and is roaming around.
It will soon be able to spot the two people here.
At that point, he will only have one way out: death.
"Calm down!" Murphy forced himself to calm down, then stretched out another hand.
Haldan's words echoed in his mind.
Magic is the alteration of probability.
Simply moving a magic wand into your hand doesn't require reversing much information entropy.
Imagine it.
This was not teleportation; it was simply using magic to connect the wand, which was already closely linked to him, and then pulling it back into his hand.
By amplifying one's senses, even if it is invisible to the naked eye, the sense of smell and the wizard's magical perception remain, and one can definitely feel the magic that is closely connected to oneself.
If the magic network is not familiar with such a path, then guide it.
First, expand my perception!
Second, search for and connect with the magic that originates from me!
Third, pull it back!
Suddenly, a vague path appeared in his mind.
It was so blurry, so subtle, but in that fleeting moment, he felt as if he truly sensed the existence of something.
Murphy's eyes snapped open. "The wand's coming!"
