Hogwarts: From Selling White Peppers to Becoming a God

Chapter 450 The Beginning of a New World

Chapter 450 The Beginning of a New World

The gods all looked at the newcomer with disdain.

Over a hundred years ago, Odin was besieged while fighting the mountain giant Shakki of the Vanir gods. Just when he was about to die, a Vanir god suddenly betrayed him, killed Shakki, and saved Odin's life. As a result, this Vanir god was accepted into Asgard and became a member of the Aesir gods, and was called Odin's brother.

This god, the one before us, is named Loki.

However, Loki was eccentric and extremely arrogant, which made him unpopular with the gods. In addition, he was a traitor who betrayed his own race of gods, and was regarded as a despicable villain by many gods of the Aesir, who looked down on him even more.

"Loki!" Thor glared at him. "You dare come back?!"

Previously, Loki challenged Thor. During the battle, Loki actually used a dagger to cut off Thor's wife, Sif, who was a goddess of youth, and her full head of golden hair. Thor was so angry that he almost wanted to tear Loki to pieces. Loki probably realized that things were going badly, so he quickly promised to find a skilled craftsman to create a head of golden hair for Sif that could grow like real hair, and then he ran away.

Now that he's back, Thor naturally has to question him.

"Don't rush, nephew Thor," Loki said. "I brought back quite a few good things from the dwarves this time."

As he spoke, he suddenly threw the spear in his hand. The golden spear pierced towards Odin like a meteor. The gods were all shocked, but Odin remained seated. With a "thud," the spear pierced the throne next to Odin's cheek, piercing a hole in the indestructible throne.

"This spear, once thrown, will surely hit its mark; it pierces nothing. With it, your enemies will be terrified even in their dreams. This is a gift for you, my brother."

Odin pulled the spear from his throne, held it in his hand, and felt the magic contained within it. He was quite satisfied. As long as the divine power was weaker than his, even gods would find it difficult to avoid his attacks. No matter when Ragnarok would come, with such a weapon, his chances of winning would be much greater.

Then, Loki took out a small golden boat from his bag. This boat could be put into his bosom or enlarged thousands of times to hold a thousand troops. He gave this boat to Frey, the god of the sun.

Then he took out a hammer and handed it to Thor. This hammer could also be enlarged or shrunk, and it could fly back into the hand after being thrown. It could also use Thor's divine power to unleash powerful lightning.

The bag even contained a wild boar made entirely of pure gold, which glittered as it ran, making it quite imposing.

Seeing that Thor was getting impatient, Loki took out a head of long golden hair from his bag and put it on the goddess Sif. Then he cast a spell, and all the golden threads connected with the broken strands of Sif's hair, making them as smooth and fitting as real hair, making the goddess even more radiant than before.

The gifts had all been given out, and everyone was in high spirits. But then Loki took something out of his pocket and held it high in the air.

"Although every treasure I brought back today is extraordinary, compared to this thing in my hand, they are like fireflies compared to the sun and the moon."

Seeing that all the gods were captivated, Loki said, "You've all heard that legend, haven't you?"

"I was very curious about what was so special about the gold at the bottom of the Rhine, so I swam all over the river in search of it," Loki said. "But before I could find it, I discovered a dwarf who wandered around a cave at the bottom of the Rhine. I asked him where the Rhine gold was, but he said that he had already turned it into a treasure."

"The dwarf was very nervous. I only asked him a few questions, and he thought I was going to steal his treasure, so he started fighting with me. I killed him and then found what he had hidden."

"As soon as I saw its shape, I knew it was the legendary thing."

With that, Loki opened his palm and showed the ring inside to all the gods.

"The Ring of the Nibelungs!" a deity exclaimed. "The legendary power has become so immense; this ring has actually appeared!"

"Although I don't know the dwarf's name, this ring truly contains immense power," Loki said. "I feel that if I wore it, I could become the king of the world. But I know I cannot control such power, so I offer it to you, my brother."

After Loki finished speaking, he carried the ring to Odin and handed it to the latter.

Odin hesitated for a moment. He had a feeling that things were too coincidental, and if things were to develop as the legend had predicted, the ring would bring destruction, which he did not want to accept.

But there was indeed a power within the ring, a power so immense that it seemed that as long as one wore it, all problems would be solved.

Should you choose to believe the legend and destroy the ring, or should you believe that you can control this power and thus prevent Ragnarok?

Odin hesitated for a moment.

But at that moment, he saw the expressions of the gods below.

Their eyes were completely drawn to the ring.

It seems that not only him, but all the gods present could sense that power.

Odin felt a chill run down his spine. If he gave up this power that was within his grasp, who could guarantee that it wouldn't be seized by other gods and used against him?

Thinking of this, he grabbed the ring in his hand.

In an instant, he felt as if a huge hole had opened in his palm, and a terrifying suction force surged out from the ring, frantically drawing away his divine power.

Odin was horrified and almost roared in anger, but at that moment, the suction suddenly stopped.

Immediately afterwards, he felt his senses expand a thousandfold, as if the entire Temple of Valhalla were under his gaze, and if he wished, he could even expand his senses to the whole of Asgard. As it continued to infuse the ring with divine power, he gradually saw a vast network that stretched all the way to the mortal world.

His power can extend to extremely distant places along this line of thought. With a thought, he can see the scene thousands of miles away and throw his spear at the head of anyone tens of thousands of miles away.

Even though he could have done something similar through the eyes of a devout believer in the past, it would have required immense divine power and would have been far less free than it is now.

This ring seemed to amplify his divine power, giving him for the first time a feeling of truly controlling the world.

"Odin, you should destroy the ring!" said Frigga, the queen of the gods. "Bringing it to Valhalla will only make that legend a reality!"

"No, Frigga, this ring will become our weapon against Ragnarok."

"Odin, wake up! It's making you greedy!" The Queen of Gods looked at the other gods in the temple. "It's making us all greedy, and this will bring disaster!"

Odin was taken aback; this was indeed what the legend had foretold.

But he quickly put the question out of his mind.

Even without that legend, Ragnarok would inevitably come. If the ring can bring disaster, then everything that can bring power can bring disaster. Is he going to destroy his own spear? Is he going to hand over his throne and divine power as well?

"You're wrong, Frigga."

"This is our chance. We can use this power to defeat our enemies. Perhaps we can rely on it to survive the calamity of Ragnarok."

Frigga knew that Odin's mind was made up and could not be swayed. She sighed and suddenly looked down at Loki in the audience.

"You evil god! You brought the seeds of destruction!"

"Destruction?" A sinister laugh crept across Loki's face beneath the tattoos. "Whose destruction?"

"Their destruction is our rebirth; what I offer is clearly the beginning of a new world."
