Hogwarts: From Selling White Peppers to Becoming a God
Chapter 413 Conflict
Chapter 412: Superpowers?
"You all remember what the president looks like, right? When you find him, apparite him away," Jacqueline said. "There are a lot of Muggles here, and it wouldn't be good if they found out."
"Okai, how's your dad doing?"
"He drank a big gulp of the Water of Life and Death, enough for him to sleep until tomorrow night," the wizard named Okai said excitedly.
"Alright, check your wands, use the Disillusionment Charm and the Mute Charm. Scatter your forces in a bit. Whoever finds the Muggle President, take him away immediately. Those who haven't found him, meet at the barn in ten minutes!"
"Set off!"
The twelve young wizards cast illusion and silence spells on themselves and then entered the Italian Parliament building. There were guards everywhere and people coming and going, so the wizards were quite nervous. But soon they realized that no one had noticed them, so they immediately became bolder.
However, they soon encountered their first problem: the Capitol was too big and there were too many people, making it difficult to find a specific person.
But everyone had used the Disillusionment Charm and the Silent Charm, so they couldn't see each other. Changing their minds on the spot was unlikely, so they had no choice but to grit their teeth and keep searching, pushing open every door and carefully examining every passerby. However, even so, they still found nothing.
Ten minutes later, twelve wizards appeared in the barn.
"Damn it, is that guy not here?!"
"We should find a way to contact each other!"
"Fosto, you just stepped on my foot, you idiot!"
"I don't!"
"You're the one walking behind me, you must have stepped on me!"
"Enough! Quiet!" Jacqueline shouted, finally managing to quiet everyone down. "We made a mistake. We didn't expect them to be so cunning, hiding among so many Muggles. Ocai, are you sure the Muggle president is at work today?"
"I'm sure, my dad said he has an important meeting today and he won't miss it."
"This isn't working, Jacqueline," a wizard warned. "We should grab a Muggle and find out where the Muggle president is! I have some truth serum here; it'll guarantee they tell the truth!"
"But how are we supposed to communicate with each other?!" another wizard asked. "It's too much trouble that we can't see each other. Are we going to have to wait another ten minutes to find out if we've caught the Muggle we used to ask for directions, and then another ten minutes to find out if we've caught the Muggle president?"
"I have a solution. I traveled to England and bought a set of gadgets called Fairy Coins. They can talk to each other, but I only have nine of them."
Nine people are enough!
Soon, the nine wizards infiltrated the Capitol again, then dragged a poor clerk who was about to use the toilet into the barn and fed him a truth serum without explanation.
"Quickly, tell me, where is the Muggle president?!"
"Muggle?" The clerk had been given too much truth serum and was in a daze, but he still couldn't understand their question.
"Damn it, where is your president?!"
"President, at Quirinal Palace."
The wizards paused, then asked, "Isn't it the Capitol Building?"
"The president does not work in the Capitol."
"..."
The wizards were somewhat confused. "Damn it, how come it's different from the Ministry of Magic? Isn't the president the head of the Muggle government? Why doesn't he work in the government office?!"
Fortunately, Quirinal Palace has a long history, and even some wizards know its location. So the plan was changed again, and Jacqueline sent five wizards with goblin coins to Quirinal Palace to capture the president.
After the other party left, a wizard named Wallace suddenly seemed to remember something, took out the photo and showed it to the clerk, "This guy, isn't he your president?"
The clerk looked at the photo, shook his head, and said, "No, this is the Prime Minister."
Waterfa?!
"Damn it! Okai got the wrong people?!" Jacqueline exclaimed in shock. "Call them back!"
However, the other party had just left on a broom and was now beyond the communication range, so there was no way to call them back.
“Wait, Ocai might not be mistaken,” Wallace said. “My mother is Muggle-born, and I think I heard her say that the powers of a Muggle prime minister and a president are different.”
As he spoke, he showed the photo to the clerk again, "Muggle, cough, I mean, isn't this the most powerful person in this country?"
The clerk nodded. "Yes."
"Ocai isn't mistaken. The person his father is protecting is the prime minister, who holds the most power in the country, not the president. We should arrest the prime minister," Wallace said confidently, feeling he understood everything.
However, no sooner had he finished speaking than the clerk added, "But the prime minister is appointed by the president. The president is the head of state."
"???"
What?
"So, it's right to let them arrest the president?" Jacqueline asked blankly.
Wallace was speechless. What was going on? What were Muggles up to? The Minister of Magic was obviously the highest-ranking official in the Ministry of Magic—that was simple, no doubt about it! But Muggles had both a president and a prime minister—who was really in charge?!
"Who cares! Let's capture the Prime Minister too!" another wizard suddenly exclaimed. "We still have four goblin coins here; capturing one more Muggle is no big deal!"
"Okay," Jacqueline rallied, and asked the clerk, "Where is the Prime Minister?"
"He's usually at Kiji Palace," the wizards said, their faces darkening. But thankfully, the clerk added, "However, the Prime Minister has an important meeting today, and he's at the Parliament House now."
……
Meanwhile, in the Capitol's guardhouse, a guard pointed to a scene on the monitor, "Look here, Mr. Terraton was just in the corridor, but he disappeared in the next instant."
"And here, this door opened and closed by itself. And here, the expensive pen on Congressman Levallo's desk has suddenly disappeared..."
But before he could finish speaking, the captain suddenly pressed down on his earpiece, stopping him from continuing.
"What?!" the captain shouted. "Yes! Understood!"
The captain, pale-faced, ended the call. "Emergency order! Protect the Prime Minister! Terrorists have taken the President hostage!"
Everyone was stunned. How could that be? The presidential palace has so many guards, and there are checkpoints set up for several kilometers around it. Did the other party fly in? And are the guards at Quirinal Palace incompetent?
But then they looked at the monitor, and their hearts clenched immediately.
The Capitol building has also been broken into!
But how did they manage to do that?
hacker?
There was no time to think. Everyone sprang into action immediately. The captain quickly issued orders to all guards: "The Capitol has been breached by terrorists! Protect the Prime Minister! If anything unusual is detected, you are authorized to fire! Remember, anything unusual! The attackers are suspected to be..."
The captain's face showed an extremely absurd and fearful expression.
"Superpowers!"
"Repeat! The other party is suspected of having superpowers! Suspicious individuals detected, permission granted to fire!"
