Chapter 318 The Ministry of Magic Withdraws from the Group

After much effort and digging up more than a dozen wizards' graves, Mary Thompson and her team of investigators finally managed to gather a few usable wands.

A wizard immediately attempted to use the Portkey spell to leave England, but Mary stopped him.

"Rescuing the fairy is a mission we must complete, and we must act in unison. Any extra action could lead to our discovery."

"There aren't many wizards in the manor because the fairies don't have wands, and the wizards think they can control them," Jin Kou said. "All we need to do is sneak in, knock out one or two guards, and release my brethren. It's not difficult."

How many fairies are there here?

"There should be several hundred," Jin Kou said.

"Not many." Mary frowned. Their time was limited, and they could probably only act once. If they could only rescue a few hundred fairies, it was really not worth it.

"I don't know, but we can't delay any longer; we have to get them out of here first..."

However, before they could even leave the manor, suddenly, all the lights in the manor came on, and alarms went off. They had been discovered!

The wizards, unsure of what had gone wrong, prepared to Apparate, only to be shocked to discover that an Anti-Apparition spell had been cast, making escape impossible.

Immediately afterwards, more than a dozen Aurors and Watchers emerged from nowhere.

Mary sensed something was terribly wrong and shouted, "Quick, break through with the fairies! Take as many as you can!"

"Those goblins..." A wizard stared in astonishment at the goblins running towards the Aurors with the gold buckle, unable to process what was happening. "They ran away."

Mary paused for a moment, looking at the Aurors who seemed to have been lying in wait, at the goblins who were far away from them, and then at the tattered wand in her hand.

Suddenly, she understood.

This is a trap.

"You won't succeed!" she cried, her anger flaring. She raised her wand and collapsed.

A powerful surge of magic flowed through the old wand, finally causing its already extremely fragile body to succumb to the pressure and explode with a red light.

Mary fainted.

Armed with ill-fitting, worn-out wands and surrounded by enemies, the investigators were no match for the Aurors.

Soon after, everyone was apprehended.

They were tied up and, along with the fairies behind them, had several photos taken.

The next day, The Daily Prophet reported a story that enraged wizards throughout England.

The investigation team intends to collude with fairies to launch a rebellion!

The report details the actions of the investigation team:

It turns out they were carrying out a secret mission from the International Wizarding Federation: to contact the fairies in Britain, reunite them, and overthrow the rule of the British Ministry of Magic.

Taking advantage of their usual investigations, they inquired about the locations where the fairies were being "re-educated through labor," and secretly contacted some fairy sympathizers and traitors in the British wizarding world to plot a rebellion aimed at overthrowing the British Ministry of Magic.
