Hogwarts: From Selling White Peppers to Becoming a God
Chapter 295 I Saw You
Chapter 295 I Saw You
"Guleus?" Murphy looked at the goblin with some confusion. "I don't understand, who gave you the audacity to oppose me?"
"Murphy Darkholm." Guleus recognized Murphy as well. "You used gold obtained from Muggles to exchange for our gold coins, treating Gringotts as your money laundering machine. This will not happen again."
"What? Muggle gold isn't gold?" Murphy was baffled. "Don't you guys mine for gold?"
"Gold is merely the material, while gold coins are the property of the fairies," Guleus said. "Fairies may allow wizards to temporarily use their property, but you intend to seize it for yourself."
Murphy was stunned for a moment before he realized what was happening.
This fairy was referring to their unique view on property.
In the realm of fairy magic, anything created by a fairy belongs to the fairy.
These things include, but are not limited to, gold coins, Gryffindor swords, etc., and in their eyes, wizards are a group of thieves who have stolen their property.
However, the goblins and wizards of Gringotts have been dealing with each other for quite some time now, and this "fundamentalist" view of property is rarely mentioned by the goblins anymore. After all, they know that the wizards will not admit this, and they are no match for the wizards.
But what's up with this guy in front of me?
How did such a fairy become the president of Gringotts?
"So, you mean all the gold coins in my vault are yours?" Murphy frowned.
"It's not all mine. The Brin family only owns half of the gold coins produced by Gringotts. The rest belongs to eight other families."
"Shut up!" Padlow shouted in terror. "Shut up, Guleus! What nonsense are you spouting?!"
Murphy was a little confused. Could this guy have been subjected to the Imperius Curse by Dumbledore?
But what's the purpose? To spew insults at oneself?
"However," Guleus suddenly said, "we can allow you to continue using those gold coins, but we have one condition."
"Oh?" Murphy looked at him. "Tell me about it."
"Return the Gryffindor sword and other goblin treasures to Gringotts," said Greos. "You now possess Hogwarts, don't you? That shouldn't be difficult for you."
"That's all?" Murphy asked. "You don't want the Philosopher's Stone anymore?"
"Dumbledore won't give me the Philosopher's Stone," Guleus said. "He just wants to use us."
"Knowing that, you still lowered the exchange rate?"
"Why would you talk to me if you didn't do this?"
"I understand." Murphy nodded. "Then, what makes you think you have the right to negotiate with me?"
"You don't have the Philosopher's Stone I want, yet you expect to get something for nothing. You want me to bring you the Sword of Gryffindor, just to exchange it for what should rightfully be mine." Murphy looked at the dwarf opposite him. "Don't you find it absurd?"
"That belongs to Gringotts, to the goblins! I can confiscate your vault; no one but a goblin can open those locks!"
"So, you're planning to rob me?" Murphy asked.
"That belongs to..."
Before he could finish speaking, Murphy appeared in front of him in an instant, grabbing his chin. "Fine, let me see what's wrong with your brain. Legilimency!"
However, the next moment, Murphy saw a flag.
It was a battle flag, tattered and stained with blood. On the flag, it looked as if someone had scribbled a skull with charcoal, and at the top of the flag was a rotting monster's head.
Suddenly, more battle flags were raised in the thick fog, and the sound of drums could be heard in the distance. Then, he heard footsteps, many footsteps, as if a large army was marching.
His gaze pierced through the thick fog, past countless fluttering battle flags, and gradually, he saw a throne of bones standing deep within the fog.
It was lifted up with difficulty by dozens of fairies. On the throne, there seemed to be something shrouded in a blood-red mist. Just as Murphy looked over, two bright yellow eyes suddenly lit up in the blood mist.
Suddenly, Murphy felt a chill run down his spine, and he immediately severed his mental connection with the fairy.
But then, with a "snap," Guleus's head exploded right in front of Murphy, his flesh and brains splattering everywhere like an exploding watermelon.
In the next instant, countless bolts of lightning surrounded Murphy, and the electric fire scorched and evaporated all the flesh and blood that splashed around him.
However, a single drop of blood still managed to break through the electric grid that enveloped his entire body, splashing onto his face and disappearing instantly.
A voice from an unknown distance echoed in his heart: "I see you."
Murphy felt a sudden, sharp pain in his mind, as if something had been driven deep into his head.
"What is that?!" Murphy exclaimed in shock.
He immediately realized that he had fallen into a trap.
A person, a fairy, or something else launched an attack on him through Gleus.
He immediately sensed his entire body, but strangely found no symptoms of discomfort, not even the head that had been stinging earlier was completely unharmed.
"Spirit, or soul?"
Is this where the enemy is attacking?
So what kind of method is this, similar to the Seed of the Mind?
Who is targeting me?
What was that image I just saw in Guleos's mind?
"Lord Murphy!" A startled cry snapped Murphy out of his shock.
It was Locke. He had come in with him and was now covered in blood. "Are you...are you alright?"
"Kill! Murder! Murder!"
Padlow finally came to his senses, screamed in terror, and ran outside while yelling.
But before he could reach the door, Murphy suddenly appeared behind him, grabbed his head, twisted it, and broke his neck.
"Murphy... Your... Lord..." Locke stared blankly at the scene, trembling with fear. But the next moment, he suddenly knelt on the ground. "Mr. Murphy, thank you for killing the goblin traitor who plotted rebellion! I... I will testify to the Aurors!"
Murphy frowned. Before he came, he had considered dealing with Guleus, and even after figuring out what he was up to, killing him wasn't out of the question.
But at this moment, the bloodstains and the two demon corpses were not part of his original plan.
If he intends to kill, he can do it even more meticulously.
However, it's too late to say all this now. The fairies outside must have heard Padlow's shouts.
"Locke, go and gather all the goblins in Gringotts in the lobby on the first floor."
Then, with a thought, countless bolts of lightning flashed from behind him, transforming into black birds that flew to every corner of Gringotts, sealing off all the exits of the wizarding bank.
He then issued orders to Rahim and Winston Robinson through the "Ravenhouse" mental network: "Bring your most elite and loyal men to Gringotts."
"Today, we are taking over this place."
