Hogwarts: From Selling White Peppers to Becoming a God
Chapter 266 Tom and Voldemort
Chapter 266 Tom and Voldemort
"Unicorns are very beautiful and kind creatures, and it is said that killing such a creature will bring a curse."
In the Forbidden Forest, Tom and Cho Chang were a pair. Tom carried a lantern and walked through the forest, his steps uneven.
Qiu Zhang then introduced him to the unicorn.
"Our group has been researching shapeshifting lately, and I've been reading a lot of books about animals," Qiu Zhang said. "My God, there's their blood everywhere, it's so pitiful..."
Tom was fairly familiar with Cho Chang because of the Hero Group. In his mind, Cho Chang was a very "girly" girl—completely different from Hermione—but surprisingly not unpleasant.
She loves beautiful things, is compassionate, and is very intelligent.
"Here, take this." Qiu Zhang took out a bottle of medicine and handed it to Tom.
"What is this?"
"A werewolf potion," Qiu Zhang said. "They say there are werewolves in the Forbidden Forest. If we encounter them, we can use this; perhaps becoming one of them will be safer."
"This potion will turn us into werewolves?" Tom asked, somewhat surprised.
"No, it can harmlessly and temporarily transform a person into a wolf. Although what we really want is a potion that allows people to transform into animals anytime, anywhere, that's too difficult. Professor Murphy said we need a deeper understanding of Animagus potions."
"temporary?"
"Yes, the wolf-transformation potion only lasts for about ten minutes each time now, and this bottle can probably be used twice," Qiu Zhang reminded him.
Tom doubted that the potion would be useful if he encountered a werewolf, but he still put it away.
The ancient trees in the Forbidden Forest looked to be a thousand years old, incredibly tall, and the deeper you went, the more so. The intertwined roots protruded from the ground like low walls, and Tom felt as if he were doing an obstacle course.
However, the blood on the ground was becoming increasingly concentrated, which seemed to indicate that they were approaching their target.
Suddenly, Qiu Zhang let out a soft gasp and covered her mouth, "There, isn't that...?"
In the distance, a beautiful creature lay on the ground, its skin as white as pearls or moonlight.
It was dead, and silvery blood covered the ground around it.
As they were preparing to fire a spark to warn Hagrid and the others, suddenly, a rustling sound came from the bushes beside them, and something shrouded in darkness emerged, swooping across the ground like some kind of giant bat. It pounced on the unicorn and began to drink its blood.
"It, it's... drinking..." Qiu Zhang whispered in fear.
"Let's go quickly." Tom grabbed Cho Chang and was about to leave when a dry branch under his feet snapped with a soft crack.
The hooded figure suddenly turned its head and looked at the two of them.
In that instant, Tom had a very strange feeling, as if he were looking at the two of them through the other person's eyes.
He could even sense the cold-blooded killing intent emanating from the other person's mind.
"run!"
They turned and ran, but at that moment, with a rapid sound of hooves, a half-human, half-horse creature suddenly rushed out. It first shot an arrow at the dark figure, which was dodged, and then raised its hooves to protect the two young wizards behind it.
The figure hesitated for a moment, then slipped into the bushes like a ghost and disappeared.
"You'd better go back to Hagrid," the centaur said.
"Thank you," Qiu Zhang said, still shaken. "Do you know what that was? It was just... drinking..."
"Yes, he's drinking unicorn blood," the young centaur said. "It's an extremely evil act, vicious and cruel. He'll stop at nothing to prolong his life..."
"The book says that unicorn blood is cursed, making life worse than death..." Qiu Zhang said, "How could anyone drink such a thing?"
“That’s right,” the centaur said. “The blood of a unicorn can prolong your life. Even if you are on your deathbed, it can only delay your death. Only someone who has nothing but wants everything would commit such a heinous crime.”
"Perhaps he just wanted to buy himself some time with the unicorn's blood so that he could drink something else... something that would fully restore one's energy and magic... something that would grant one immortality."
"You mean... the elixir of immortality? Someone who has nothing but wants everything... what are you referring to?" Tom felt that the other person seemed to be implying something.
"You should have heard that name. Besides him, who else has silently waited all these years, yearning to make a comeback? Who else has clung to life so tightly, waiting for their chance?"
Tom was startled, and in an instant, a thought flashed through his mind: "That person, you're saying that's Voldemort?!"
If that guy was Voldemort, then what's with the notebook?
Two Voldemors?
Which one is true?
Harry said that there were indeed people eyeing the Philosopher's Stone.
Tom once thought that although Harry guessed the result correctly, he guessed the process wrong. Because of his prejudice, he always thought that Voldemort's henchman was Snape, but in fact, that person should be himself.
Tom even sometimes thinks that the Gringotts robbery might have been committed by his past self before he lost his memory.
But what if Harry's suspicions weren't entirely unfounded? What if he really had never robbed Gringotts?
So who robbed Gringotts? Besides myself, who else was eyeing the Philosopher's Stone?
Are there any other helpful tools for taking notes?
Or perhaps the notebook claims to be Voldemort, but is it really?
He had previously thought that Voldemort's notebooks were turned into a book after he was defeated by Harry.
Now it seems that's not the case?
In an instant, Tom made a decision.
He has to go ask that guy.
He handed the lantern to Cho Chang, "Cho, send a signal to call Hagrid over."
After saying that, he looked at the centaur and asked, "Can you protect her?"
"Boy, what are you doing?"
Tom didn't answer; he rushed out, a strange feeling still lingering in his mind, as if he knew which way the other was going to escape.
"Danger, boy!" The centaur tried to block Tom's path, but the latter suddenly emitted a cloud of black smoke around him, accelerated, bypassed him, and quickly disappeared into the bushes.
Tom is very fast.
The flight spell rewarded by the notes requires too much magical power from the caster, making it difficult for him to actually fly. However, if he uses the black mist to lift himself up and make his body lighter, it can greatly increase his running speed.
Tom traversed many bushes and root systems like a hunting dog tracking its prey, guided by the strange sensation in his mind.
Soon, he felt he was getting close, and the other person seemed to stop.
As he burst out from behind a large tree, a spell suddenly shot out from the opposite side: "Immediately imprison!"
He slid sharply to one side, and a rope tied a knot tightly around the branches where he had been standing.
"Wait a minute," Tom said, "Are you Voldemort?"
The other person looked at him, and suddenly a voice came from behind the hood, "That magic...who taught you it?"
"What?" Tom was a little confused.
"Flight Spell," the figure uttered in a hoarse, unpleasant voice. "That's a spell I invented. Who taught it to you?"
"So, you really are Voldemort," Tom said.
The flight spell was a spell he obtained from his notes, a spell he couldn't find recorded in the library, but the records he found about Voldemort mentioned that he could fly.
Therefore, the flight spell must have been a magic created by Voldemort himself.
The other person was silent for a moment, then didn't deny it. "And who are you, boy?"
"I...I might be Lucas Tom Brettson..." Tom said, taking out his notebook.
After Harry may have seen the notebook, Tom carried it with him again.
"Do you recognize this?" he asked.
The figure was clearly taken aback. "Where did that diary come from?! Who are you?! Are you from the Malfoy family?"
A diary? Tom was now certain; the other person must be involved in something related to a diary.
“I may have another name,” Tom said, his face bitter and strange. “You may also be familiar with this name.”
"My name is Tom, Tom as in Tom Riddle."
