Chapter 264 I Will Not Abandon You

Today is the last practical class before the exam.

Murphy called all the students to the open space.

"Practical lessons," Murphy said, "After a year, I believe everyone understands the significance of this course."

"I haven't taught you any specific knowledge. Everything you've gained in this class belongs to you."

"Over the past year, you have learned how to learn, how to ask a question, how to plan the direction and steps for researching a problem, and ultimately how to find a solution."

"I am very pleased about this. You are all excellent students. Compared to the past, I think you have a broader vision and a sharper mind. I believe that in the future, you will all become excellent wizards."

"A year is a short time, but you have already achieved very good results."

"The Dean team has completed the initial design and test flight of the single-person flying armor. Although comfort and safety still need to be improved, I believe that an era in which one can fly freely without the aid of a broom is not far away."

Dean Thomas held up the flight boots they were currently working on, earning a round of applause.

"Draco's team, through a carefully designed questionnaire and meticulous data analysis, has proven the fallacy of the theory of bloodline. The related paper has been published in the Magic Weekly and has caused a great stir. Even Headmaster Dumbledore considers it a remarkable academic discovery."

Draco blushed when he heard Murphy mention his name.

Although he had submitted his work to the Magic Weekly as Murphy had suggested, he had only received questions from acquaintances and elders, which made him very conflicted. But now, Murphy’s generous praise made him feel recognized again, and he was almost moved to tears.

The weight that had been pressing on his shoulders suddenly seemed to be lifted, and he seemed to breathe a sigh of relief.

As expected, Professor Murphy was right.

Everything must be based on logic. My data is correct, and my proof is extremely rigorous. Those who haven't even read the paper and yet criticize themselves for violating the principles of their ancestors are the real fools.

Draco Malfoy felt that from this day forward he had finally escaped vulgarity and found a more solid self-confidence.

What gave him strength was no longer the shallow so-called "bloodline," but something truly indestructible—truth.

His back was straighter than before.

"The Akiharu Group, as second-year students, have developed two brand-new transformation potions through continuous exploration and experimentation on the extremely difficult and complex subject of transformation: a gender-changing potion and an animal transformation potion."

"To be honest, even I am shocked and proud of what they have achieved. This is truly an outstanding result that I never expected. It's remarkable."

"The related research papers are being compiled and will be published in Metamorphology Today. Professor McGonagall praised it as the most outstanding achievement in the field of metamorphology in recent years, and I think she was not exaggerating at all."

"This, this is all based on your guidance, Professor... and there's also an element of luck..." Qiu Zhang said shyly, her face flushed.

"This isn't luck, Miss Qiu Zhang; it's the reward for your persistent and dedicated research," Murphy said, showering her with praise.

This is why Murphy needs more people to invest in magical research. Just as there is no guaranteed formula for scientific research, there is also an element of luck, or rather, a probability component, in magical research.

To fill this gap in probability, a lot of trial and error and persistent research are needed.

Most of the time, so-called scientific research is not a matter of intelligence, but a matter of human resources.

One brilliant mind cannot lead humanity to a prosperous future; only when countless brilliant minds work together can we gradually expand the territory of human cognition in the unknown darkness.

"Also, the Weasley brothers, based on the 'Fairy Coins,' developed a brand new communication tool: the Messenger Notebook."

As Murphy spoke, he took a notebook-like object from the Weasley twins and held it up. "After connecting several notebooks through a communication ritual, you can write letters on your own notebook and send them to any notebook that wants to communicate."

"A remarkable invention, a remarkable idea!"

"However, what is even more remarkable is the message-transmission ceremony."

"The Weasley brothers have developed a more universal 'enchanting' ritual, which is a way to imbue an item with a magical effect through a ritual. Although at present, this ritual is still quite cumbersome, and only the Message Ritual and the 'Loud Voice' spell have been successfully integrated with the enchanting ritual, I believe that in the future, more simpler and universal enchanting rituals applicable to a wider range of spells will be developed."

"From now on, our magical world will be filled with all sorts of interesting and convenient magical items."

"This will be a great invention that will change the future of the wizarding world."

The Weasley twins set off two fireworks at just the right moment, bowing to everyone and shouting, "Welcome to the Weasleys Magical Item Shop! Message Notes are on sale! Only 10 Silver Shicos!"

"In just one year, you've achieved so much, frankly, far exceeding my expectations," Murphy said. "It has also made me realize once again just how valuable you all are."

"I hope you will continue to develop the learning and research methods we learned in the practical classes and apply them to your future studies, research, work, and even life. I look forward to your growth."

"In addition, besides learning some skills this year, I believe everyone has also made some friends."

"Through exchanges with students from different colleges and with different personalities, I wonder if everyone has gained anything from it?"

"I hope that everyone will cherish their friendship and this wonderful time, and devote more energy to mutual understanding, cooperation, and common development, rather than to wasting each other's lives on things that are pointless and wasteful, such as fighting, comparing, discriminating against each other, and pulling each other down."

"I sincerely hope that you can have a happier and more fulfilling school life."

After Murphy finished speaking, some students sensed something different. One student raised his hand and said, "Professor, what you said sounds like a farewell. Are you not planning to teach us next year?"

Murphy entered the school specifically for the Philosopher's Stone, and the practical class was an idea he came up with on the spur of the moment; he never intended to stay for long.

However, the students of Hogwarts are indeed treasures. Perhaps because they do not have a rigid understanding of magic, they seem to be able to better utilize the "omnipotence" of magic, and they can achieve so much in a year. Perhaps this is the reason.

Murphy wasn't too keen on letting such a group of precious children be ruined by a rigid magical education. After thinking for a moment, Murphy said, "Don't worry, I won't abandon you."

The classes may not be taught anymore, but the goal is to maintain an influence on Hogwarts, without necessarily becoming a professor.
