Chapter 249 Prophecy

"What...did you say?" Snape was stunned, shaking his slightly dizzy head. "I think you're the one who's...drunk."

"We have magic, remember?" Murphy said.

"Magic—no, uh…it's not omnipotent!" Snape cried, his voice suddenly rising. "Only a bunch of…idiots who haven't yet explored the depths of magic believe that magic can…do anything!"

"Perhaps you've simply backed down from the challenge," Murphy said.

"You...you know nothing!" Snape braced his hands on the table, as if trying to stand up, but he couldn't.

"I know more magic than you've ever heard of! As for death, I... know far more than you... can imagine! I've experienced it, more than you've ever... never dreamed of, ever imagined, uh..."

He looked like he was about to throw up.

That's about enough. Murphy decided to ask the question, "So, what about the elixir of immortality? It's said that the elixir of immortality can be used for resurrection, isn't it?"

"Yes, yes..." Snape sat down, looking as if he were about to fall asleep. "No, it can only resurrect flesh, the flesh..."

"Oh? Are you sure?" Murphy asked. "Can you make an elixir of immortality? What's the recipe?"

"I can't make it; it requires... magic... stones... but I know... the recipe..."

"Not difficult, not hard... like the skin of a snake, plus the blood of a salamander, along with unicorn horn powder, toad tadpoles..."

It took him a while to finish explaining the formula, which Murphy memorized. "These can be used to revive a body?"

"No, the elixir of immortality cannot directly revive the physical body; it also requires... another kind of potion... but only Voldemort knows about that... He has never told me..."

Murphy nodded slightly.

It's alright. Although I didn't get the formula for the body-reshaping potion, the elixir of immortality is enough.

He was just about to have Snape repeat the recipe to verify it when suddenly a cry of "Ouch!" came from outside.

Then there were a few thuds, as if someone had fallen.

……

Hearing Snape's heartfelt confession to his mother, Harry didn't know how to feel.

His mind was a complete mess.

But at the same time, he also figured out some things.

No wonder Professor Murphy said that Snape and his father were enemies; it turns out that they both loved their mother and were rivals for her affections.

This also explains why Snape hated himself so much—Sirius had said that he looked almost exactly like James.

At the same time, he also understood the meaning behind the look in Snape's eyes when he gave him the antidote earlier that day.

He saw his mother in himself.

But Harry couldn't yet grasp the depth of Snape's love for Lily; he only felt a chill, even fear and a sense of humiliation and anger.

In his excitement, he accidentally knocked over a cup.

Fortunately, the group—Harry, Ron, Hermione, Tom, and now Cho Chang—were all hiding under the Invisibility Cloak, so they didn't attract much attention.

Thankfully, they are still in their first or second year. Once they get older, the invisibility cloak won't be able to hide so many people.

They had come to find Murphy, and after arriving in Hogsmeade through the tunnels descended by the Bee Duke, they headed straight for the Three Broomsticks. After much difficulty, they finally found Murphy, only to discover that he was drinking with Snape. The young wizards hid next door to listen to what they were talking about, and as soon as they came over, they heard the shocking news that Snape liked Harry's mother.

After hearing this, everyone saw that Harry was in a bad mood and prepared to leave, but Snape revealed the recipe for the elixir of immortality, which immediately attracted Tom's attention.

He needs this.

Upon hearing that the formula for resurrecting a body was with Voldemort, Tom decided to turn back and, if absolutely necessary, ask the diary for it.

Since it calls itself Voldemort, it should know the resurrection formula, right?

Having obtained crucial intelligence, they were preparing to leave when suddenly, a "Huh?" came from behind them.

Hagrid, who was drinking with several professors on the other side of the hall, heard that Murphy had brought Snape to the tavern, so he prepared to take the two of them to a large table for a couple of drinks. He went to the door of the booth, but as soon as he got there, he saw something strange.

That was a foot.

A lone foot, without an upper body or connected to a leg, and it looks somewhat familiar.

"Ron, your foot!" Hermione quickly whispered a reminder.

With a slight ripple in the air, the foot suddenly vanished.

Hagrid rubbed his eyes, thinking he was seeing things, and instinctively took a step forward, bent down, and tried to get a better look.

The young wizards quickly retreated to the side, but there were too many tables and chairs in the tavern. The five of them squeezed under the cloak and inevitably bumped into things. In the chaos, someone stepped on someone else's foot, and with a cry of pain, the five young wizards fell to the ground with a thud.

"Lily, no, Harry?!" Hagrid's cloak was flipped aside, and he naturally saw Harry, much to his surprise.

"Shh..." Harry and Ron quickly got up. "Shh, keep your voice down, Hagrid..."

"What are you doing here? You're not even in your third year yet..." Hagrid had also drunk quite a bit, his face flushed, and he didn't notice the two of them desperately trying to give him hints.

"Harry Potter! You should be in the school hospital!" Professor McGonagall appeared, seemingly also intoxicated, but still glaring at them sternly. "And Weasley, Miss Granger! Tom! Oh, Miss Cho Chang! This is truly... how could you all be..."

"We...we're here to see Professor Murphy..."

"Who's looking for me?" Murphy pushed open the cubicle door. "Oh, everyone's here, it's so lively."

On the table behind him, Snape was already asleep, slumped over. Murphy had taken advantage of the commotion outside to cast Legilimency on Snape to check the recipe, and then cast a Forgetfulness Charm on him—in this state, Snape couldn't use Occlumency at all.

Anyway, afterwards he'll just think he had a blackout and won't have any further suspicions.

"Harley?" Murphy looked at the girl, Harry. "What are you doing outside?"

"I'd like you to check if there's anything wrong with this bottle of antidote..."

"Oh, what's this?" Professor Flitwick picked up the invisibility cloak from the ground. "This is quite a rare treasure."

"You're wearing invisibility cloaks and hiding outside the door. You're trying to eavesdrop on the professors' conversation," said a professor who looked like she was crazy. Cho Chang recognized her as Professor Trelawney, who was said to teach divination.

"No, we didn't..." Ron quickly denied.

"Oh, don't try to deceive the eyes of a prophet, child..." Trelawney seemed to be drunk as well, laughing foolishly, "I've already seen it, you're going to be in big trouble today, child."

"..." Ron rolled his eyes. Anyone with eyes can see we're in big trouble now.

Sure enough, Professor McGonagall raised her eyebrows. "Solitary confinement! Leaving school without permission! Appearing in a bar! And eavesdropping on professors' conversations! Outrageous! Solitary confinement! Ten points deducted from everyone's score!"

"No, no, Professor..." the young wizards tried to explain.

"Go back to school! Hagrid, take them back!" Professor McGonagall ignored their explanations.

"Wait, let me do a divination for them," Trelawney suddenly said. She was probably really drunk and seemed eager to show off her precognitive abilities. She beckoned to Hermione, "Come here, child."

"Oh, you don't look well, young lady. Misfortune is upon you. If you ask me, you shouldn't leave school at a time like this. Just stay here obediently..."

Hermione's face was obviously not good. She had been caught violating school rules and had ten points deducted from her score. Her brows were furrowed so deeply that they almost formed a deep frown.

"As for you, child," Trelawney approached Tom again, "bad, so bad... death, maybe death... God, terrible fate..."

"Alright, Professor Trelawney, now let..." Murphy didn't want to listen to Trelawney's rambling and was about to interrupt her performance when suddenly his wrist was gripped tightly.

"Professor?!" Tom's hand was also grabbed by Trelawney.

"Disaster!" she suddenly screamed, "A terrible disaster!"

She abruptly released their hands, tilted her head back slightly, rolled her eyes, and trembled slightly. "I saw... the Savior... He is a child born from death, his darkness stems from the past. The 'Prophet' will bestow upon him endless wisdom and leave a key to him in a secret chamber... He will solve the mystery and see the future... He will be resurrected after death and embark on the destiny of the Savior."

Murphy: ? ? ?

Waterfa?!

Didn't I make up this prophecy?!
