Chapter 222 Dense Fog

"Barty, this is yours." After the chef left, Murphy dispelled the illusion spell, revealing his true form. "Don't mess this up again!"

"Yes, Master." Little Barty, now transformed into the guard he had killed, said respectfully, "I dare not do it again."

Murphy patted Valery on the shoulder again. "Go for it. Now is not the time to be timid. I'll cover for you."

After saying that, he switched his perspective to a lightning raven hundreds of kilometers away, and then Apparated away.

……

In the Bryansk Forest, not far away a railway line cuts through a vast pine forest, winding its way south.

Murphy suddenly appeared out of nowhere under a huge oak tree.

Immediately, several submachine guns covered in woodland camouflage were aimed at him.

"Radwan, it's me."

"Password?" A person who was almost invisible among the grass stood up and asked.

Murphy thought for a moment, "Why does France have so many tree-lined boulevards?"

"Because the Germans like to march in the shade," Radwan chuckled. "But that should have been yesterday's code."

"That is: why do the French always get so many votes at the United Nations?"

"Because they always have their hands raised high," Radwan laughed heartily. "How's the operation going over there?"

"It's going very smoothly," Murphy said. "So smoothly that I feel like we could rule the world tomorrow."

"I don't think it's impossible," Radwan put away his gun and walked up. "The abilities of wizards are truly amazing. I wouldn't be surprised if they announced that they had conquered the earth one day."

Murphy shook his head. "You overestimate them."

"Wizards may be able to cause some chaos in Muggle society, but that's all they can do. It's nothing to brag about. Can a terrorist attack destroy a country? Impossible. Once a real all-out war breaks out, the only thing waiting for wizards is annihilation."

"Finding joy in the corners where Muggles can't see is the way wizards survive."

Despite the apparent success of his previous actions, it was actually based on an absolute intelligence advantage. The Soviet Ministry of Magic seemed to have completely failed to inform Chobagov of the existence of the magical world, and he was almost entirely unaware of the threat posed by it.

If the enemy is well-prepared, even he might not be able to defeat a fully armed company.

Therefore, he chose to take this covert approach rather than confront them directly.

As he spoke, his vision shifted to a lightning raven a hundred kilometers away, observing a train arriving from Kyiv.

This was also a special train, and Chin Yeli's entourage was no less impressive than Chobagov's. There was a whole company of guards on the train. What was more troublesome was that Murphy didn't know if there were any wizards protecting Chin Yeli, or if so, how many and who they were. This made it impossible to formulate a targeted strategy.

"Is everything ready?" Murphy asked.

"Bombs, poison of life and death, winged demon venom, nerve gas, gas masks..."

Radwan pulled a box from his body. "This is enough to fight a war."

Murphy nodded. "Try not to kill anyone, but if necessary, don't hesitate to kill everyone here rather than let any of them escape."

"clear."

"Go and prepare."

……

On the green patent, Qin Yeli was half-reclining on the sofa with her eyes closed, resting and constantly thinking about her next plan.

Chobagov is a clown and a coward. He's no match for him at all. Soon it will be my turn to sit in that chair he's sitting on.

The most important issue now is negotiating with Krachuv and Shukovich, those two greedy guys. They have huge appetites and want too much of a slice of the pie. But we can't afford to anger them; we still have to work together.

We need to weigh the pros and cons...

The train had somehow entered the dense Bryansk Forest, and a large river flowed nearby, its mist billowing.

Therefore, even as the fog outside the train grew thicker, it did not alert the guard commander, who only felt that the place was too damp.

But soon, the fog became so thick that you couldn't see your hand in front of your face, and everything outside the window was obscured by the thick white fog.

"What happened?"

"Why is the fog so thick?"

The people on the train thought they were passing through a foggy area, but if they were outside the train, they would see a strange sight.

The thick white fog clung firmly to the outside of the train like a cotton candy. Its range was not very large, just enough to envelop the entire train. The thickness of the fog outside the train was less than two meters, as if the train had been covered with a cotton smother.

"What's wrong?" Qin Yeli heard the commotion. "What happened?"

"It's foggy outside, Your Excellency..."

But at that moment, a loud voice rang in everyone's ears, "Open the car door."

Immediately, the guard walked to the car door, opened it, and thick white fog instantly flooded into the carriage.

With a thud, the guard collapsed to the ground. The second guard, who had inhaled the mist, swayed slightly, muttering, "Poison...poison..."

He collapsed before he could finish speaking.

"It's poison gas!" one of the guards reacted quickly. "Protect the president!"

He held his breath, trying to reach for the gas mask in the emergency cabinet, but the fog fogged his face, making him momentarily forget what he was supposed to do.

The next instant, the entire carriage was filled with thick white fog, and soon all sound disappeared.

Suddenly, after a momentary distortion of space, several people wearing gas masks appeared in the carriage.

"Radwan, go to the locomotive, take control of the train, and make it run normally."

"Alexei, Broll, you guys go check all the carriages and make sure everyone is asleep. Take the magic detectors and find out who the wizard is."

"Felix," Murphy said to the remaining man, "you studied acting, right?"

"Yes, boss."

"I don't have time for you to slowly imitate him. I'll transfer a portion of Qin Yeli's memories to you later. From now on, you'll live as him for a while. Can you do that?"

"This is the greatest performance ever, boss! I won't let you down!"

"very good."

As Murphy spoke, he waved his wand, and the fog in the carriage vanished instantly.

He glanced around and saw five people lying in the carriage: four guards and an old man with white hair.

Murphy stepped forward and said, "Speaking of which, this is an old friend of ours, but he's a complete scourge to his own country."

Murphy plucked a few strands of his hair and handed them to Felix, preparing to throw the man into the Unmarked Expansion Box. Suddenly, a guard lying in the corner opened his eyes, pulled out a wooden stick thicker than a normal wand, and shouted, "Разбитьврага! (Stun the enemy!)"

With a "bang," Felix was struck by a beam of light, thrown back and crashed into the carriage, losing consciousness.

The man then pointed his wand at Murphy and chanted another spell, but Murphy deflected it with an armor charm and countered, "Stun!"

"Непобедимое! (Invincible Golden Body)"

The attack was blocked, but Murphy suddenly accelerated and rushed forward, punching the man in the stomach. With a bang, the man was sent flying a meter away, crashing into the carriage wall. Even his wand was flung away and broken by Murphy's foot.

Although it's unclear how this guy managed to dodge the gas attack, that punch was enough to keep him in bed for at least half a month.

Murphy ignored him, grabbed Qin Yeli and threw him into the Seamless Expansion Box, then went to Felix and prepared to remove the spell from him.

But at that moment, a chanting sounded behind him, "Великийдуб, духпредков (Great Oak, Spirit of the Ancestors)..."
