Hogwarts: From Selling White Peppers to Becoming a God
Chapter 216 Professor Snape, please again
Chapter 216 Professor Snape, please again
Snape stared at the potion laced with Murphy's spittle, barely managing to stop himself from slamming the cauldron over the other man's head.
Although some disgusting ingredients are often added to potion making, such as rat bile, caterpillar juice, beetles, and hair, these are all part of the potion-making process.
Once the potion was made, all those things turned into the potion's ingredients, and their original forms were long gone. But Murphy's act of spitting after making the potion was deliberately disgusting!
Snape trembled with rage. "Professor Sprout! What does he mean by that?!"
Professor Sprout stared blankly at Murphy. "Professor Darkholm, what you just said..."
Murphy: "Professor, my potion requires the maker's saliva to be added to form."
"Nonsense!" Snape roared. "There's no such potion!"
"Professor Darkholm, what is the name of this potion?"
Murphy: "This potion is called: Thick Essence. Its effects include causing the drinker to become irritable, easily angered, flushed, have a racing heart, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. In severe cases, it can even cause the eyes to roll back, foam at the mouth, and the body to stiffen..."
"Nonsense! Nonsense!" A blush appeared on Snape's pale face, clearly indicating that he was already intoxicated.
"You see, Professor Snape only smelled it, and it had such an effect," Murphy said, shrugging.
Murphy wasn't intentionally being disgusting. The saliva he spat out earlier was actually petrified lizard venom—secreted by himself. The pile of materials he had earlier was just a decoy; this spit was the real essence, and he had no choice but to spit it out.
"A minute has passed, Professor Snape. Are you going to drink or not?" Murphy looked at him. "Why don't you just admit defeat?"
Snape's face flushed red and then turned pale, as if he had been poisoned. He gritted his teeth, his eyes almost popping out of their sockets, but finally, with a fierce determination, he picked up the bottle of potion and prepared to drink it all in one gulp.
Murphy watched silently, knowing that if he swallowed that gulp, he would be petrified instantly.
However, just as the potion was about to his lips, Snape suddenly stopped. He sniffed the potion, examined it carefully, and then looked at Murphy in astonishment. "What did you put in it?"
"The materials were all taken from your shelf, didn't you see?" Murphy said, glancing at the timers on his desk. "You only have eight minutes left, Professor Snape."
Snape glared at him fiercely. He carefully examined the potion, sniffed it, and muttered a few incantations. His brows were furrowed, as if he couldn't understand why the potion had such an effect. But as expected of a potion master, he had a good grasp of the potion's properties. He set up a new cauldron and began to concoct the antidote.
Murphy saw him take mandrake juice from the shelf and sighed quietly, knowing that he had discovered the petrifying component and that he wouldn't be able to outsmart him this time.
Soon, the antidote was ready. Snape, suppressing his nausea, drank Murphy's potion and his own antidote in turn.
His body suddenly turned white, then the grayish-white color slowly faded, and soon returned to its flesh color.
He was completely unharmed.
"Tsk." Murphy was slightly annoyed, but after all, he had been a potions professor for so many years, it would be unreasonable if he didn't have this much skill.
Now that Murphy has drunk the potion, he can prepare for the second round.
Feeling that it would be difficult to defeat his opponent in one move, Murphy decided to fight a protracted battle. He summoned several more potion ingredients and had his house-elves bring him a bunch of apples and milk. Then he set up a stand and began to make the potion.
This time, he chose a potion that was extremely easy to make, a cleaning and polishing agent, and added dragon's blood that could clean stoves. This stuff wasn't meant to be drunk; it was more like a disinfectant and toilet cleaner. Finally, before Snape's Water of Life and Death was finished, Murphy added fructose made from fructose and lactose extracted from fruits and milk to the potion.
Fructose can stimulate intestinal peristalsis, and when combined with a large amount of foaming and cleaning agents, Murphy is sure that anyone who drinks this stuff will immediately turn into a jetpack warrior.
"Duang!"
Murphy placed another bottle of potion on Snape's desk. "Professor Snape, please."
Snape glared at Murphy again. He had seen it himself and knew exactly what Murphy had concocted: a stain remover! A stove cleaner… Was that even considered a potion? This wasn't meant for human consumption, so there was no antidote.
His confidence in victory suddenly wavered. He didn't even dare to think about what he would be forced to eat today if things continued this way.
While he racked his brains trying to figure out how to concoct the antidote, Murphy was still counting down the seconds. "Ten seconds have passed, twenty seconds, one minute, Professor Snape, five minutes left... Sigh, another half minute has passed. You can't think of an antidote, can you?"
Snape was so annoyed he wanted to kill someone. His hands were shaking as he poured the powdered aragonite into the cauldron, and he accidentally poured in too much.
After finally managing to brew a potion of universal antidote, Snape drank Murphy's potion.
His expression suddenly became incredibly complex, his usually expressionless face contorted in a way never before seen. Murphy saw him clench his teeth, as if tensing every muscle in his body to prevent something from gushing out...
Murphy couldn't help but feel a deep respect. He truly deserved to be called the most patient man in the entire book. At this point, others could have taken off using the law of conservation of momentum, but he could still hold back. Just how strong must his sphincter muscles be!
Snape was trembling all over. He barely managed to drink the antidote, and in extreme pain, he almost rolled his eyes back before the antidote finally took effect, and the primal power slowly subsided.
However, when he looked down, he discovered that Murphy had already started brewing the third potion.
He felt a genuine sense of fear and began to doubt whether he had been too reckless in this challenge.
However, he finally finished his potion of life and death and placed it on Murphy's table.
He was certain that Murphy, with his potion-making skills, would have no chance of breaking this tampered potion of life and death!
However, Murphy didn't even look up. He picked up the bottle of the life-and-death water he had painstakingly concocted and gulped it down in one go.
Snape stared wide-eyed at Murphy, his gaze unwavering. So arrogant! I'll see how long you can last.
Under his gaze, Murphy picked up a glass of water and took a sip.
Suddenly, several streaks of lightning flashed behind it, and it vanished in an instant. After disappearing from everyone's sight, it suddenly transformed into several black birds. They flapped their wings and found a comfortable and safe branch, then fell down with a series of crackling sounds, falling into a deathly slumber.
Since the potion wasn't lethal, Murphy transferred it directly into the bodies of the crows he was symbiotically with, and put them to sleep.
In fact, if he were in demon form, he might be able to withstand this level of potion, but since there is a more convenient way, there is no need to make it so sensational.
Snape was stunned for a moment before he reacted, "What is that?"
"The antidote, of course." Murphy smiled and looked at the person opposite him. "Professor Snape, is that all you have left? My third potion is almost ready, you know?"
