Hogwarts: From Selling White Peppers to Becoming a God

Chapter 21 The Revolutionary's Wand

Chapter 21 The Revolutionary's Wand

After Lisandro finished speaking, he confidently turned over his cards.

Three Kings.

The highest card besides the three Aces.

It wasn't that Lisandro didn't want Vasco to help him get three Aces, but rather that he only had two Aces in his hand.

Even so, he was already guaranteed to win, because his opponent couldn't possibly come up with a hand higher than three Kings.

At the same time, Murphy also turned over his cards.

"Impossible!!" Lisandro jumped to his feet. "You cheated!"

What Murphy saw laid out in front of him were the three largest Aces.

Lisandro angrily laid out his remaining cards. "I have two Aces here. You can't possibly have three Aces!"

Murphy glanced at the other person. "Why don't you take another look at your cards? Are you sure you have two Aces?"

Lisandro looked down and was stunned.

I have two Aces!

The deck of cards he laid out contained all the suits and numbers, but the Ace was nowhere to be seen.

This is impossible!

He had calculated it beforehand, giving each side two Aces.

Did I use the wrong technique?

Out of thousands!

The other party must have cheated!

But the wand was still in the notary's hands, and the other party didn't touch the cards at all. How did he manage that?

"I won," Murphy said, and before Lisandro could object, he took out another twenty Galleons from his pocket, placed them on the table, and pushed them over.

"What do you mean?" Lisandro was confused.

"It's just a game, just to make friends. Fairness isn't important, and winning or losing isn't that important either, is it?"

Lisandro hesitated for a moment, but finally put the gold coins away.

"Tell me, what do you want me to do for you?"

"Could we talk privately?"

"No need for all that trouble!" Lisandro stood up, took the two wands from the notary, and looked around at everyone in the tavern. "The tavern's closed, all of you get the hell out!"

Soon, apart from the bartender, only Lisandro and Murphy remained.

Lisandro took Murphy's wand but didn't return it. Instead, he asked, "How exactly did you cheat?"

"It'll lose its charm if I tell you," Murphy said, reaching for his wand.

"This is my territory!" Lisandro warned.

Murphy glanced at him. "Do you want to win, or do you want the money?"

The two glared at each other for a long time before Lisandro finally let go.

"Can you tell me your purpose now?"

"I need potion ingredients, lots of them. I'll buy your ingredients at 10% more than you would at the pharmacies, as many as you have. If you can get all the ingredients from the market and leave those pharmacies in Diagon Alley without any potions, I'll give you another 10%."

If Malfoy wants to mess with me, wouldn't it be impolite not to cause him some trouble?

Lisandro asked with suspicion, "How much money do you have?"

Murphy smiled. "That's enough."

Fifteen minutes later, Murphy left the Siren Song.

Lisandro sat quietly at the gambling table for a while. Suddenly, he looked at the bartender. "Master, should we agree to his offer?"

The bartender continued wiping the glasses, seemingly oblivious. "If you have money, why not make it?"

Lisandro nodded. "I understand."

After he finished speaking, he couldn't help but reach out and flip over Murphy's cards.

Then he froze.

Those were all twenty-odd Aces.

"What... what's going on? Magic? Wasn't his wand put away?"

After wiping the last glass, the bartender took out a skull-shaped jug from under the bar, poured some scarlet liquid into the glass, and took a small sip.

"Fool, who says a wizard always only has one wand?"

……

Cheating is like magic; it looks mysterious, but in reality, it's nothing special.

Murphy, after leaving the tavern, put the wand he had taken from the bald wizard back into a conspicuous position on his waist.

His own wand was hidden in an easily accessible pocket in his left sleeve.

This was originally intended as a preventative measure to avoid being disarmed, but unexpectedly, it was used for the first time at the gambling table.

Just now, while Lisandro was distracted by Vasco, he used the wand hidden in his sleeve to cast the Summoning Charm and the Transfiguration Charm on Lisandro and his own deck.

After finding the Ace of Lisandro's deck using the Spell of Apparition, transform it into another ordinary card, thus eliminating the evidence of cheating.

At the same time, transform all your cards into Aces, so that no matter what Vasco chooses, you can choose the highest card for him.

With everyone believing his wand had been taken away, and taking advantage of Lisandro's captivating performance as cover, no one noticed his cheating.

This also allowed Murphy to experience the benefits of having an extra wand for the first time.

Using the bald wizard's wand carries some risk, but this is Knockturn Alley, where there are plenty of old wands.

Before long, he sold the bald wizard's wand and bought several second-hand wands in relatively good condition as spares.

Incidentally, his own wand was bought by the original owner of Ollivanders, and Ollivanders remembered every wand he sold.

It's like a registered gun; if you use it to commit a crime, you can be traced back to the person who committed it.

Is this okay?

This is not good!

Murphy thought for a moment, then went back to Toad Cellar and bought a shrinking potion. He then went to Diagon Alley, found a corner, and drank the potion in one go.

A moment later, a black-haired boy walked into Ollivander's Wand Shop.

"Hello, is anyone there? I want to buy a wand."

Ollivander poked his head out from behind the shelf. "Who wants to buy a wand?"

"It's me," the boy replied.

"Oh, how old are you?"

"I'm eleven years old, and I'm going to Hogwarts next year, so I want to buy a wand."

"Of course, of course. What's your name?"

"Murphy Darkholm".

Ollivander was clearly taken aback for a moment. "Darkholm, ah, but, however..."

He scrutinized Murphy for a while longer. "Yes, I remember you, Murphy. Your wand is made of cypress, 12.5 inches long, with a unicorn hair core. It's a beautiful wand, as striking as you are... But, how come you..."

"Are you getting senile?" Murphy said. "I've never bought a wand before. Pick one for me."

Ollivander looked puzzled, seemingly unable to quite understand what was happening before him, but at Murphy's urging, he finally began to choose a wand for him.

"Try this one first, cypress, unicorn hair, 12.5 inches, the same as your old one..."

"Bang!"

Before Ollivander could finish speaking, Murphy waved his wand, and a small crater appeared in the ground.

"Oh! Oh... okay, this won't do!"

"Then let's try this..."

After trying five or six wands, Murphy finally found one that suited him.

"Oh, this is quite good. It seems it has chosen you." Ollivander took Murphy's wand again, stroking it. "Aspen, fourteen inches, phoenix feather core... Yes, I remember this wand. This combination is unusual, very rare... It possesses both extreme power and multifaceted control. This is a wand suitable for challengers and revolutionaries..."

"Extraordinary, Mr. Murphy. When you actually start using this wand, you're sure to accomplish something remarkable."

"Oh? You mean I'll become a hero?"
