Hogwarts: From Selling White Peppers to Becoming a God
Chapter 170 Putting the Vicious Dog on a Leash
Chapter 170 Putting the Vicious Dog on a Leash
White Weasel Mountain.
Murphy sat idly in his own backyard, watching several children driving away goblins in the distant fields.
With his current farsightedness, he could clearly see an insect thousands of meters away, so even here, he could see the wicked smiles on George and Fred's faces; they seemed to be planning a massive explosion for the goblins.
Ron frantically threw stones, while Ginny stood beside him, furious. She had been hit by a goblin's mud and was preparing for revenge.
Murphy watched with great interest.
He's been staying here a lot lately for recuperation and has gotten along well with the Weasleys. Murphy occasionally visits to bring small gifts for the kids. For example, he just gave Ron a few Seven Stars Sweeper swords a while ago, which made Ron very happy.
Arthur would often come over, bringing Molly's homemade food and discussing things about the Muggle world with her.
As the head of the Department for the Prohibition of the Misuse of Muggle Articles, Arthur's knowledge of Muggle articles is both ridiculously shallow and full of wild imagination.
If Murphy had acted according to his usual cynical nature, he would have thought the other person was hopelessly stupid, incomprehensible, and a lazy bum.
But now, he just finds it quite fun, and even took his TV apart with Arthur.
Suddenly, after a distortion of space at the foot of the mountain, a man with light golden hair appeared there, holding a cane.
Lucius has arrived.
……
Lucius had never been to Weasel Mountain before, but when the raven landed on him, it caused him to Apparate, and after he recited the spell, he was transported there.
He looked around and found himself standing at the foot of a hillside.
Before he could decide which way to go, he heard a cawing sound, looked up, and saw several crows perched on a small tree nearby.
Only then did he notice that crows were everywhere, not just on that tree, but all over the hillside in front of him.
Most of them wandered around the grass, pecking at insects, but on both sides of a path leading up the hillside, the black birds stood like guards, all staring at them with their black eyes.
Lucius walked nervously down the path under the watchful eyes of the crows.
"Gah, Lucius!"
"Gah, you idiot!"
"Gah, you're finished."
Many of these crows could speak human language, and what they said plunged Lucius's spirits to rock bottom.
The short ten-minute journey felt like an eternity to him. By the time he arrived at the courtyard, he was drenched in cold sweat and looked so weak that he was about to faint.
The once clear sky had become overcast and much colder, and the wind made him feel a chill.
In the courtyard, Murphy sat in a high-backed chair, looking down at himself as he climbed up the steps from the entrance.
"Lucius."
Murphy leaned back lazily in his chair, one hand on the armrest, his chin slightly raised, his half-closed eyes gleaming with a golden hue in the dimming light.
His voice wasn't loud or harsh; he merely called out his name, yet it sounded like a death sentence.
Lucius felt as if a great calamity was about to befall him, as if a huge boulder was hanging over his head. His legs went weak and he knelt down.
"Mo...Master, my master..."
Murphy sighed.
If only I had known then what I know now.
At first, he genuinely believed he could get along well with these so-called pure-blooded nobles. He figured he could just give up some profits; after all, his business was so big that even a little bit of what he earned through his own means would be more than they had made in the past.
However, human nature is insatiable. They don't care how much benefit Murphy's arrival brought them; they are only envious that Murphy took the lion's share.
Murphy now understands these guys better. They believe in the law of the jungle, where the strong prey on the weak. On the surface, they are polite and gentlemanly, but in their hearts, they are just like their ancestors who made their fortunes through this method—a group of bloodthirsty bandits.
They utterly disdain their so-called "civilization," and any attempt at appeasement will only make them think you are weak and easily bullied.
There is only one way to deal with them.
Beat them until they hurt, hurt them to the bone, then put collars on them, tie them with bridles, establish rules for them, and drive them like vicious dogs in your hands.
"Lucius," Murphy said calmly, looking at the man kneeling at his feet, "do you want to live, or do you want to die?"
"I want to live! I want to live! Master, spare me, spare my life..."
After kneeling down, the master started calling out to him more and more naturally.
"it is good."
Murphy beckoned, and a parchment appeared before him. A quill pen dipped in ink that looked like the blood of some animal wrote on it incessantly, soon filling the entire parchment. Then, the parchment landed in front of Lucius.
"If you want to live, sign this contract with your blood."
Lucius picked up the parchment with trembling hands and found that it was indeed a contract stipulating that he must serve Murphy until the latter released him from his obligations.
In short, their service can be summarized as: using every means possible to ensure that Murphy's orders are executed unconditionally.
This was a slave contract. Except for the fact that it didn't say he could be bought and sold at will, Murphy could control almost all of his actions and order him to do anything.
Just like how he treats house-elves.
This is absolute loyalty without any conditions.
In an instant, Lucius thought of Rahim Selwyn and Barty Crouch. Was it because of this contract that they were so loyal to Murphy?
This contract must contain an incredibly powerful spell. He knew that once he signed it, he would be no longer in control of his own life, and even his thoughts would likely be controlled by the other party.
In fact, his guess was correct. This was an application method developed by Murphy through the Mind Seed contract model. He didn't have to recite the Mind Seed spell to the contractor every time. Instead, he attached the Mind Seed spell to the parchment scroll, and the contents written on it were the conditions of the contract.
What should I do?
Signing the agreement would turn you into a slave, but refusing to sign it would only lead to death.
Lucius was not a decisive person to begin with, and faced with such a big choice, he found it difficult to make a decision.
But Murphy clearly didn't have the patience to wait. "You only have ten seconds to decide."
As he spoke, wind and thunder gathered in the sky, and streaks of lightning crawled through the clouds, as if they could fall at any moment.
"Gah! You idiot!"
"Gah! You idiot!"
The crows cawed gleefully around Lucius.
There were even countdowns for him, "Gah, eight!"
"Gah, six!"
"three!"
"one!"
With a snap, a bright flash of lightning streaked through the air, about to strike, when Lucius bit his finger, drawing blood. "I'll sign! I'll sign!"
As he spoke, he wrote his name in blood on the contract.
After finishing writing, Lucius held up the contract. "Great Murphy! I, Lucius Malfoy, swear eternal loyalty to you!"
Suddenly, with a loud boom, the lightning bolt struck down from the sky, but instead of hitting Lucius, it entered the contract and then dissipated in the electric sparks.
In a daze, Lucius felt as if something had been etched into his heart, as if his soul had been imprisoned in an iron cage, preventing him from doing as he pleased.
"Get up, now let's talk business."
"Lucius, you and Albert Rencohn are both on the Hogwarts Board of Governors, right?"
