Chapter 115 A Half-Blood Wizard After Graduation

Murphy's security stores all recruit three types of wizards.

One type is skilled in combat, and must obtain certificates in both Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts in the basic wizarding exams, and preferably also have a certificate in Magical Creatures Protection.

Their daily training mainly consists of spell duels. They must be proficient in spells such as Stunning Spell, Petrifying Spell, Disarming Spell, Armor Spell, and Summoning Spell. They must also obtain an Apparition License before they can be officially recruited.

These will be the mainstay of security stores in the future, and also the seed players that Murphy hopes can replace Auror.

However, their current work mainly involves dealing with pest problems for various wizarding families throughout the UK.

They hunted gnomes, imps, goblins, vixens, and so on, bringing them back in boxes and bundles to be handed over to house-elves who were specifically responsible for transporting them.

Locke was right; these wizards were indeed currently working as a pest control company.

The third type is the wizard who is skilled in enlarging and shrinking spells.

For this type of wizard, the recruitment requirements are minimal; all that's needed is to pass the Charms course.

They are the key technical workers for future chip production, and Murphy plans to recruit them all to work in the factory.

The wizards looked at each other, whispering amongst themselves, not quite understanding what Murphy was describing.

But it sounds pretty impressive.

"To produce such a powerful item, extremely precise magic is required, and your magic is the most crucial element in the manufacturing process."

"Now, after a long period of practice, you are ready for the formal assessment."

"Next, we will conduct some tests, and the three people with the best test scores will be given priority to join my project."

After saying that, Murphy took out a stack of cut wafers from the seamless stretching box, and then took out a canvas. On the canvas was a coordinate system with the origin as the center, and two circles were drawn, one with a diameter of eight inches (a little over two decimeters) and the other with a diameter of over one meter.

He took one piece from the wafer and placed it in the eight-inch diameter circle, where the edges fit perfectly.

Using the Magnification Charm to magnify something five times is not difficult for an ordinary wizard.

This is also a multiple of what chip research institutes are currently developing. If it gets any larger, the lithography machine would need to operate on wafers larger than 1 meter in diameter, which would reduce lithography precision and affect yield. And the shrinkage technique is not yet needed in current chip manufacturing processes.

Therefore, Murphy is now simulating the working environment of future wizards, letting them start practicing directly.

"I'll go first!"

A wizard volunteered to step forward.

Murphy recognized him. "Winston Robinson?"

This guy was a fellow Gryffindor student in his year, and apparently he had been a chaser for the Gryffindor team.

"Hello, Murphy." Winston said, slightly embarrassed.

As a half-blood wizard, and with his mother being a Muggle-born wizard, he received very little support from his parents in the wizarding world and had to make his own way after graduation.

However, since most of the high-paying jobs in the magical world are concentrated in institutions such as the Ministry of Magic and Gringotts, and they hire very few people, those positions are basically reserved by pure-blood wizards (in the broad sense) who have connections and influence.

So, in the two years since graduation, he has changed jobs a lot, but he is still struggling to make ends meet.

Winston had considered living in Muggle society, but frankly, with his Muggle elementary school education, he couldn't find a decent job.

The ways to make money are all written in the International Wizarding Secrets Act. Unless he is willing to risk becoming a dark wizard, he will still be at the bottom of society even if he goes to Muggle society.

At most, he could use some magic to improve his quality of life, but what difference was there between that and living in the wizarding world? He would also risk breaking the law. Therefore, he ultimately chose to make a living in the wizarding world.
