Chapter 24 Goodbye Coulson

If the fate of this world does not take an unexpected turn.

Erin remembered that Tony should be in some cave swinging a sledgehammer at this moment.

The conditions were a bit harsh, but at least there was no real danger to their lives.

Upon hearing this, Pepper forced a smile: "I hope so!"

Seeing Pepper's dim eyes, Erin sighed inwardly.

Forget it.

I'll help you out for Aunt Pepper's sake!

After making the decision, Erin said to Pepper, "Aunt Pepper, if you really want to find your boss Tony Stark, I can help you."

Pepper was slightly taken aback after hearing this, then smiled and patted Erin's head, saying, "It's enough that Erin has this intention. As for how to find Tony, that's a matter for the police and the military."

Clearly, Pepper didn't think Erin could really be of any help in this matter.

Stark Industries and the Union military, two behemoths, have been searching for Tony Stark for so long without success. What good ideas could Arryn, a kid who didn't even graduate high school, possibly have?

"Aunt Pepper, you don't believe me."

Erin wasn't stupid; Pepper's coaxing tone was so obvious, how could he not hear it?

Pepper smiled, pursing her lips. Although she didn't say anything, the meaning couldn't be clearer.

"That...I believe it."

But just then, a gentle, magnetic voice suddenly rang in their ears.

Upon hearing the unfamiliar voice, Pepper immediately stood up, shielding Erin behind her, and then warned the middle-aged man who had barged into the house without permission, "Sir, this is private property. Please leave."

Faced with Pepper Potts, who looked wary and had even taken out her phone to call the police, Coulson, who had just entered the room, quickly pulled out his identification from his jacket pocket while raising his other hand, which was carrying a briefcase, to indicate that he meant no harm. He then quickly explained:

"Hey, ma'am, don't be nervous. My name is Phil Coulson, and I'm an agent of the Strategic Homeland Defense, Attack and Logistics Agency. Well, Erin can vouch for that for me."

Pepper hadn't heard of the Strategic Homeland Defense, Attack and Logistics Agency, but she understood the word "secret agent."

She stood two meters away, first carefully examining Coulson's identification, then turned and looked at Erin with a questioning gaze.

"He is indeed that agent from some bureau with a long list of names."

Erin nodded to Pepper to confirm Coulson's identity, then turned to Coulson expressionlessly and said, "However, I don't recall inviting you into my home. Mr. Coulson, are you planning to break into a private residence, or does that agent of some agency possess privileges that supersede federal law?"

"Don't misunderstand," Coulson quickly explained, "When I came in, the door wasn't locked, and I heard you talking inside, so..."

Halfway through his sentence, Coulson changed his tone: "Alright, I apologize. It was my fault this time. I should have knocked first. But since I'm here to deliver money to you, Lord Erin, please let me off the hook!"

As he spoke, Coulson gestured to the bulging briefcase in his left hand.

Ok.

Send money.

What's going on?

Pepper frowned slightly, puzzled.

Ailin, however, seemed to realize what was happening and asked with some surprise, "Could it be that the payment for that incident has come through? Your bureau is pretty fast, isn't it?"

"It is the Strategic Homeland Defense, Attack and Logistics Agency."

After offering a helpless correction, Coulson said with some pride, "Our Strategic Homeland Defense, Attack and Logistics Agency has always been very efficient, unlike some bloated agencies that are slow and inefficient."

As he spoke, Coulson unzipped his briefcase, revealing stacks of neatly arranged US dollars.

Erin's eyes lit up when he saw the pile of green US dollars.

"I'll let it slide this time since you came all this way to give me money. However, if you break in without permission again, I'll hire a lawyer to sue your Strategic Homeland Defense, Attack and Logistics Administration."

As he spoke, Erin took the briefcase from Coulson without asking.

Seeing that Erin had taken the entire briefcase, including the money, Coulson smiled slightly awkwardly.

"That briefcase is my personal property. After you hand over the money and tax payment receipts, could you please return the briefcase to me...?"

Erin: "..."

After rolling his eyes, Erin took out $100,000 from his briefcase, along with a tax certificate bearing his name, and then tossed the briefcase away.

Snapped!

After catching the briefcase that Erin tossed to him, Coulson casually zipped it up and put it away.

At this moment, Pepper Potts, looking at the $100,000 on the table, said with a somewhat grim expression, "Little Erin, shouldn't you explain to me what's going on with all this money?"

Looking at the $100,000 on the table, Pepper was both worried and scared.

One hundred thousand US dollars is no small sum.

Even for someone who has worked hard in the workplace for many years, it would take her more than a month to save up $100,000.

Why would that Homeland Strategic Defense, Attack and Logistics Agency give Erin, a kid who didn't even graduate high school, so much money all at once?

Pepper was now terrified of hearing any bad news from Erin.

Or turn to yourself and say that you've joined some kind of Homeland Strategic Defense, Attack and Logistics Support Bureau.

Secret agents are a group of people who dance on the edge of a knife every day and live with their heads in their hands.

Pepper didn't want her best friend's only son to become like that.

amount.

Seeing Pepper's unpleasant and serious expression, Erin knew Pepper had misunderstood and immediately explained:

"Well, Aunt Pepper, I actually have some special abilities. Last time when Coulson and the others were on a mission, I happened to help them out, and this is the reward they gave me."

"Didn't I just tell you that if you want to find your boss, I can help you? Actually, it's also related to my abilities."

At this moment, Coulson also spoke up, "That's right, Lord Arryn does possess some extraordinary talents, which I can attest to. That's why I was so excited when I heard he had a way to find Tony Stark, and I immediately pushed the door open and came in."

Tony Stark's father, Howard Stark, was one of the founders of the Strategic Homeland Defense, Attack and Logistics Agency.

Because of his connections, coupled with Tony Stark's own exceptional talent, he has always been a target of high interest from the Strategic Homeland Defense, Offensive and Logistics Administration.
