A certain broken Hogwarts

Chapter 58 The Submerged Castle

Chapter 58 The Submerged Castle

"...Don't tell me you've been lost in the castle all this time, staying up so late..."

Professor McGonagall, dressed in an orange bathrobe and with curling irons in her hair, was scolding two Ravenclaw witches she had captured.

"Who?" She suddenly looked angrily towards the end of the corridor, noticing someone had just run past. As a witch with profound magical power, a clumsy illusion spell wouldn't fool her.

She picked up her wand to grab the guy who had brazenly walked by, but then she saw a box with red and black diamond patterns being thrown from the other side of the corridor, landing not far in front of her.

This provocation enraged Professor McGonagall even more. As soon as she raised her wand, she saw a clown's head pop out from the top of the box, then rapidly inflate like a balloon, filling the entire corridor exit.

"An interesting little trick." Professor McGonagall's lips moved slightly, as if she were making a small smile. "But it's not enough..."

She waved her wand, and the clown's head exploded with a "bang".

With the sound of balloons bursting, countless balloons, flowers, ribbons, and confetti poured out, filling the entire corridor at an even faster pace than before, engulfing Professor McGonagall and her two companions.

Professor McGonagall waved her wand, causing the colorful little things to part and create a path. She calmly led the two students who had made mistakes out of the corridor, but the one who threw the box was already far away.

"Littering, but hopefully Mr. Filch will accept this little surprise." She glanced at the crowded hallway and muttered to herself, not too upset.

After running out of Professor Cat's territory, Owen couldn't help but look back and wipe away non-existent cold sweat.

Oh dear, that was close! I almost got caught.

"Owen, I wouldn't be surprised at all if we got fired after tonight," Harry said, his voice slightly dazed.

"It's not that bad, as long as we don't do anything too outrageous." Owen saw the restricted area corridor in the distance, the white fax machine in the center of the corridor, and two little wizards who had already run up to the fax machine.

"What constitutes something out of line?" Harry asked listlessly.

"Like, flooding the entire castle with something," Owen said casually, tossing the last box beside him.

The box hissed and emitted brilliant red sparks, then flew into the corridor with a whoosh, gradually transforming into a swirling, magnificent firework.

In the blink of an eye, the firework caught up with the two little wizards in front of it. As if drawn by an infinite gravitational pull, the two little wizards screamed and were involuntarily sucked into the tail of the firework. They flew into the air with its dance and began to spin like a windmill.

"Ahhh—Help!"

"Mommy... Waaaaah..."

The two young wizards' screams were drawn out, as if played at half speed—long and strange. They stumbled and crashed through the corridor with the fireworks, becoming part of the dazzling spectacle along their bizarre paths.

"Oh my..." Harry exclaimed in surprise.

"Don't worry, the fireworks will avoid all obstacles; they won't get hurt." Owen had already run into the corridor, his tone tinged with pleasure. "Who wouldn't crave such a strange experience?"

"I don't crave it at all..." Harry muttered to himself.

"Phew, finally found you." Owen finally stopped in front of the fax machine, clenching his fist with a half-smile.

The Truth Fax Machine is entirely white, looking just like an ordinary Muggle fax machine, not bulky at all. A line of letters flashes on its small green screen: What is your question?

"Quick...the professor's here!" Harry urged. He saw Professor Snape flying over like a large black bat, with Professor McGonagall following closely behind.

"Damn it, there's only one exit in this corridor..." He looked around and turned his gaze to the locked door at the end of the corridor.

Irving raised his fist, squinted at the fax machine, and suddenly asked with a smile, "What is the exact value of pi?"

The fax machine's flickering screen paused for a moment, and then countless sheets of white paper gushed out of the printout, flooding the entire corridor like a tsunami of white paper.

Caught off guard, Owen and Harry, who were nearby, were suddenly engulfed by an endless stream of white paper. The paper surged through the corridor like a tidal wave, forcing the professors who were rushing over to stop in their tracks and use spells to protect themselves and the students around them.

They stared blankly at the white paper surging past them, even Professor Snape and Professor McGonagall were utterly bewildered. They had witnessed the raging waves caused by spells and the scorching seas of fire, but a tsunami of white paper... this was the first time they had ever seen anything like it.

These blank sheets of paper, covered with numbers, continued to gush out endlessly, surging towards corridors, classrooms, and staircases. The curious young wizards who came to watch the spectacle never dreamed that one day they would almost be buried alive in countless sheets of paper.

"Who did this? Stop that thing!"

Owen was waving his wand amidst a pile of blank paper, struggling to approach the fax machine that was frantically spitting out sheets. A spell had separated the paper around him, giving him a space to take refuge. Harry was nowhere to be seen, and Owen couldn't worry about the poor fellow for the time being.

He wanted to slap himself now. Why did he have to ask that question? To be honest, he was quite surprised that the fax machine could answer the question, since, according to his reasoning, fax machines could only answer questions that others already knew.

"Surely no one can memorize that much pi..." Owen twitched his lips as he struggled forward amidst the waves of blank paper.

The constant flow of white paper created significant resistance, slowing Irving's steps considerably. After what seemed like an eternity, he finally reached the fax machine and slammed his hand down on it.

The fax machine, which was frantically spewing out paper, suddenly stopped, then abruptly became ethereal, disappearing without a trace. The surging tide of white paper finally ceased, causing everyone to breathe a sigh of relief.

At this moment, the castle's first to sixth floors were filled with white paper. It pushed open the tightly closed windows and fluttered down onto the grass outside the castle, like a heavy snowfall.

"Get rid of this damn...paper!" Professor McGonagall staggered out of the pile of paper, brandishing her wand and casting a Vanishing Charm, her face taut. The two young wizards beside her huddled together, trembling like two little quails in the snow.

Professor Snape, pressed against the wall, stared strangely toward the fax machine, his eyes twitching wildly, seemingly unsure of what expression to make. Finally, he adopted an unfathomable expression, waved his wand slightly, and a tornado swept the white paper out of the castle.

"Ah, what a disastrous day," Owen muttered as he finally crawled out of the pile of papers and stared at the ceiling so close to him.

"Look, I never dreamed that one day the castle would be submerged by white paper..." Harry also struggled to peek out, his eyes rolling back under the weight of the paper.

Just then, a rough and violent roar came from the end of the corridor. The locked door had been flung open by Zhi Hai at some point.
