Chapter 9, Avada Kedavra! Guaranteed fresh meat! (Please continue reading~~~)

Early Saturday morning.

Owen was woken up by the Hufflepuff prefects.

The Hufflepuff Common Room is located in the underground crypt of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The basement's design follows the school's own style, with yellow and black as the main colors.

Although it's in the basement, that's relative.

Because the high ground where Hogwarts Castle is located is not an easy path.

So their lounge has a side that gets sunlight.

Slytherin, who lived in the dungeons, were truly miserable, never seeing a ray of sunlight all year round, and with the Black Lake right next to them.

Just thinking about Kyrie Irving's bone gaps makes me ache.

Thankfully, my second playthrough didn't start with Slytherin.

Sigrún has taught at the Iceland University of the Arts as a part-time lecturer since and was Dean of the Department of Fine Art from -. In – she held a research position at Reykjavík Art Museum focusing on the role of women in Icelandic art. She studied fine art at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and at Pratt Institute, New York, and holds BA and MA degrees in art history and philosophy from the University of Iceland. Sigrún lives and works in Iceland.

The beds in the dormitory were also very different from those in Slytherin.

It looks like a giant pumpkin, with tree trunks standing upright at the four corners, and grapevines intertwining on the trunks, weaving a green curtain.

Flowers of various colors are scattered among the leaves.

This is certainly not a plant, but is made from a magical material.

It retains the essence of plants, yet exudes a warm glow.

"Hmm? There's a letter for me?"

As Owen sat on the bed, he looked up and saw a note hanging on the flower-adorned bed curtains.

That wasn't a normal letter because there was no envelope.

It was just a simple piece of parchment folded up and stuck in his bed curtains.

"Irving should go."

Just as he took the letter down, he heard Justin's voice.

"Okay, right away." Without even checking it, he casually stuffed the note into the pocket of his coat on the bed.

Then, with a wave of his hand, the grapevines stretched out and slowly spread out.

Suddenly, a ray of morning sunlight shone down.

Shining brightly.

After a quick wash, Owen and the group of young wizards from his dormitory crawled through a wooden barrel and arrived at the Hufflepuff common room.

In the lounge—warm, abundant sunlight streamed in through the round windows.

Green plants hang from the low ceiling.

A pumpkin-shaped table is placed in the center of the room.

The fragrant and soft pastries and the sweet and refreshing tea were served continuously.

The warm, delicious aroma of food filled the entire lounge.

Other Hufflepuffs might not make such a promise, but her students would never go hungry.

"Irving, sit over there."

Arranged in a circle of armchairs, Prefect Truman sat in the middle. He pointed in Justin's direction and spoke.

"This is just a simple freshman gathering. Everyone, please relax."

After everyone was seated, Truman stood up and began his introduction: "This is a Hufflepuff tradition; we hold a freshman party during the first week of the new term. Everyone introduces themselves, such as their favorite spells, including mischievous spells, to get to know each other better. You can also share any problems you've encountered at Hogwarts this week, and I'll give you the right guidance."

Yes! That's so Hufflepuff!

Irving shrugged, then picked up a licorice pumpkin pie from the table next to him and took a bite.

This is Hufflepuff's talk time.

Yes, I love talk therapy the most.

After Prefect Truman took his seat, the young wizards gradually relaxed and began to introduce themselves one by one.

From family, to the amusing anecdotes of childhood magic bursts, to the few little curses he mastered.

Everyone chatted away, and gradually an indescribable warm atmosphere spread.

Irving listened while eating breakfast.

A sudden and surprising discovery.

So Hufflepuff has quite a few pure-blood wizards!

Here, he is referring to pureblood families where both parents are wizards, rather than those with a bloodline.

Most of their parents were middle or lower-ranking members of the Ministry of Magic or other international wizarding organizations.

It can be said that the conflict between Slytherin and Gryffindor is a struggle for the upper echelons of the wizarding world, while the majority of the British wizarding world actually consists of Hufflepuffs.

This is the real masses!

No wonder Slytherin lost in the end, because Hufflepuff, representing the majority, sided with Gryffindor.

Voldemort is unpopular!

The brief introduction lasted for half an hour.

After Justin finished introducing his Muggle family, it was finally Owen's turn.

"Irving, it's your turn." Truman deliberately put him last, worried that Irving might cause some trouble again.

Think back to the scene when we were assigned to different departments; how much time was wasted.

"Oh, okay." Putting down his teacup, Owen cleared his throat and said, "Well, I'm probably half-blood. My mother is a wizard and my father is a Muggle. Well, that's the conclusion I've drawn from the records of the orphanage I'm in."

"I should have been born in Paris, France, and was taken to England by my maternal grandfather when I was four or five years old."

"What? Owen, are you an orphan?" Justin asked incredulously.

Not only him, but many young wizards turned their heads to look.

In fact, rumors had long circulated in their circle that Irving was a descendant of an ancient pure-blood family, otherwise how could he be so arrogant and domineering?

I never imagined his background was so tragic!

"Yeah, my maternal grandfather and I aren't related by blood. If you're going to say I'm an orphan, then you really are," Owen said nonchalantly, shrugging his shoulders.

"I"

Many of the young wizards looked ashamed; they had even slandered the poor man.

Among the girls, Hannah's eyes were a little moist.

Thinking back to Owen's unruly behavior at Hogwarts—well—it must have been because he was bullied in his childhood that he developed the personality he has now.

How pitiful!

They were on the verge of tears, their minds already filled with a million-word heart-wrenching novel.

But Irving's next sentence was like a punch that shattered their tear ducts, forcefully extinguishing any trace of sympathy they might have felt.

"As for skilled magic—I prefer eating melons!"

Truman stared at Owen with a dark expression. Other junior wizards might not know what "eating big melons" meant, but how could a sixth-year wizard like him not know?

The Killing Curse, the Unforgivable Curse.

That's the most evil magic!

"Ahem—Irving, you're kidding me."

Who would teach an eleven-year-old wizard the Death Curse?

I guess he must have heard it from his maternal grandfather's boasting!

"It's true, I never lie." Owen was a little angry. "Eating a big melon works wonders, it's the most effective spell I've ever seen!"

"Instant kill, without leaving any wounds on the body. My grandfather often gnawed on some magical little beasts—animals, ordinary animals."

"Let me tell you, killing animals with a giant melon will not affect the quality of the meat at all. In fact, it is even more delicious than regular meat, truly preserving the original flavor of the ingredients."

"I think every Hufflepuff wizard should know this spell!"

Deathly silence—the surroundings were shrouded in a deathly stillness.

You'd better be talking about animals.

Truman was going crazy.

Listen to this—what kind of prison-style speech is this?

Your grandfather is definitely a dark wizard!

Who would perform a death curse in front of a young wizard!

Rubbing his increasingly swollen temples, Truman realized with a start that he should immediately report this to the Dean—no! The Principal!

We should report this to the Ministry of Magic and have the Ooroma immediately arrest that dark wizard and throw him into Azkaban!

"Ahem—Owen, do you know that using the Unforgivable Curse will get you locked up in Azkaban?"

"I know!" Owen nodded emphatically, his bright gray eyes gleaming. "As long as we don't get caught, everything will be fine!"

Okay, I was so stupid. I'll have to ask the editor to repost the signing link on Monday. Sorry to those who have already invested!
