Chapter 42 Side Story – The Crimes of Vincent Robinson

Years later, in an interview with The Daily Prophet.

Even now, as a renowned wizard adventurer, Miss Draco still tells the stories she has told to countless people.

That warm Brussels afternoon.

He was wearing a dark blue stand-up collar coat and sitting outside a smoky Muggle café, drinking tea.

The aroma of coffee is like a rich melody, lingering in the lazy air and spreading into the nostrils of every customer present.

But he was drinking tea.

A cup of pure tea, without any additives, flows through delicate oriental porcelain, its light, cool fragrance like tender spring buds breaking through the soil where miracles are born.

At that moment, he looked up and met my gaze, gave me a friendly smile, and nodded, inviting me to sit down.

I was somewhat panicked, greedy, and pleading.

How I wish time could stand still at this moment, forever.

But—I know Vincent will never linger here, just like countless years ago, in the Slytherin common room, in front of that glass that separates the Black Lake.

He once said, "If he were still alive after the Wizarding Wars ended, he would probably become an adventurer, traveling to the most wonderful places in the world. To witness, to leave his own footprints."

"You had a good trip to New Zealand, didn't you?" He poured me a cup of English tea, knowing I didn't like the bitter taste.

"It's alright," I said.

Good heavens! That's all I can say.

I suddenly remembered my godmother, the melancholy dean who never smiled.

Even now, I am so much like her.

Sigrún has taught at the Iceland University of the Arts as a part-time lecturer since and was Dean of the Department of Fine Art from -. In – she held a research position at Reykjavík Art Museum focusing on the role of women in Icelandic art. She studied fine art at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and at Pratt Institute, New York, and holds BA and MA degrees in art history and philosophy from the University of Iceland. Sigrún lives and works in Iceland.

Vincent seemed very interested in my adventures, constantly asking what the scenery from all over the world was like.

We had a pleasant and lazy afternoon.

When it was time to part, I finally couldn't help but speak.

"It's not too late. If you want to change your ways and start over, the Malfoy family has the ability—" I almost shouted.

"No." Vincent gave a signature sneer.

I know he wasn't mocking me, but rather mocking this twisted world.

"But speaking of a makeover, I hope next time I can get a more impressive name. The surname Robinson sounds too ordinary."

Although it was early summer, fallen leaves suddenly began to drift down from the streets.

Vincent gently pinched a leaf. "Sanchez, please!" he said.

"Maybe if I'm unhappy that day, I can just live in a different universe."

As he spoke, he suddenly laughed, as if he found his naive idea absurd.

"Alright, goodbye, Miss Draco." His expression returned to its initial serious look.

"You shouldn't get too close to someone like me. You have a safer life. Stay away from England. At least for now."

After saying that, he disappeared that afternoon, along with me, disappearing from my memory, my life, and my world.

But I—never had the courage to call out to him.

I still regret this to this day.
