I, Hogwarts Second Time Around.
Chapter 202 St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Injuries
Chapter 202 St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Injuries
Shopping with a girl is an extremely painful experience.
Irving doesn't know about the others, but he's really upset.
It's strange, considering he spent the entire night walking back and forth in the forbidden forest, on mountain paths, or perhaps there weren't any paths at all. He didn't feel tired at all.
But as soon as he stepped into the mall, he felt back pain and hand cramps after only a few steps.
My eyes are all green and I just want to find a seat.
What bothered him even more was that it seemed that everyone except him was in high spirits.
Hermione needs no further explanation.
She looked around in several men's clothing stores. Indeed, Professor Lu Ping's robe was tattered and worn; anyone would think he needed a new one.
As for Harry
He was even more excited than Hermione, after all, the Dursleys would never take him shopping.
The dazzling array of goods around him held a fatal attraction for him.
It wasn't that he wanted to buy it, but rather that he was curious. Those brightly colored things were very eye-catching, and at least in terms of playing GG, Muggles were miles ahead of Wizards.
Ron's situation looks similar to Harry's.
As for Sirius Black—it's quite a coincidence that a motorcycle exhibition is being held on the first floor of the mall.
To be precise, it's not a typical road motorcycle, but a racetrack sports car exhibition.
Maybe they're planning to hold a Tour de France sprint race.
"Why is it that only half an hour has passed, but it feels like at least half a day has gone by?"
After leaving the mall.
Irving couldn't help but complain.
Hermione was carrying many bags, containing things for Professor Lupin, as well as some girls' items.
Irving estimates that those players were probably bought by LaVine.
Although their relationship wasn't particularly close, they were always roommates.
"We should switch the time converter back, then it won't feel slow anymore," Hermione glared at him and then reminded him.
"That's an extremely dangerous magical item; you shouldn't keep it."
"What's in my pocket is mine. Besides, who took it out and gave it to me? It was Fudge. Let him come and ask for it back~~~" Owen brushed the stray hairs from his face, tilted his head back, and looked arrogant.
"You—" Hermione frowned, "Professor Dumbledore just forgot to ask you for it recently, wait—"
She was about to speak.
But Owen was incredibly fast; he suddenly leaned close to Hermione's ear and whispered a few words.
"Cough cough~~~" She suddenly seemed to choke on something, "How could someone as intelligent as Professor Dumbledore forget something so important? He—he must have tacitly approved it."
Then she muttered to herself, "I want Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday!"
"Of course, Dumbledore is the greatest wizard, and his wisdom is unfathomable."
"Impossible, four hours a day!" Irving whispered in response.
"But he's getting on in years, so I think I should remind the professor and confirm this!" Hermione said, "at least a day."
"He's been very busy lately, and there's been trouble at the federation. You won't be able to see him," Irving said. "Don't push your luck, Miss Granger. Five hours."
"Then I'll write to Professor McGonagall; she'll definitely take care of it."
"A day and a half!"
"???" Owen turned his head away, giving her a second look. Was haggling really going to involve raising the price at the last minute?
You're not following the rules!
"I bet you a gallon you won't have time to write a letter."
"Oh, I don't believe you." Hermione looked at him with a half-smile. "Maybe I've already finished writing it?"
"Huh? When?"
"A few days ago!" she glared at Owen triumphantly, as if she had foreseen all of this.
"Impressive!" Owen's lips twitched slightly. Under the constant pressure from him, Miss Hermione's growth was rapid. In the original story, she didn't show such cunning thoughts until at least the fifth or sixth year.
He's only in third grade now.
"One day, that's my limit," he muttered to himself.
"Deal!" she said.
"Heh heh—the cunning Granger."
"Same to you."
We walked through a few more blocks.
On the way, amidst Harry and the others' puzzled looks, Owen and Hermione had already finished their discussion about the Time-Turner.
Overall, it's a good result.
After all, that thing would be useless to him anyway; he wouldn't attend class like Hermione, who would suddenly die from exhaustion.
Giving her one day wouldn't be a problem.
At the street corner, they bought some more fruit.
And when they moved on again.
Suddenly, there were fewer people around.
The feeling was quite abrupt. It was as if they had passed through a curtain.
The surrounding houses have also undergone tremendous changes.
From neon lights to abandoned buildings abandoned by fleeing residents.
"Where is St. Mungo's Hospital?" Harry looked around curiously. "Why don't we just Apparate in?"
"That's what people did when the hospital first opened, but as the number of patients increased, the Ministry of Magic banned Apparition in the hospital because it could easily lead to accidents," Sirius explained. "As for our location, we're standing right at the hospital entrance now."
"Hospital?"
Harry looked around curiously.
From a distance, it appears to be an old-fashioned red-brick department store.
A sign on the door read "Closed for Renovation." Aside from that, he found no trace of "magic."
They continued on their way.
I stopped near a particularly ugly doll in the guard booth in front of the department store.
Finally, Harry noticed something was wrong.
That doll—it has such a magical feel to it!
Sirius Black approached the shop window, looked up at the ugly mannequin, and his breath blurred the glass.
"Hello, we've come to visit Lupin. Remus John Lupin."
Upon hearing this, the doll nodded slightly and waved its joined fingers.
The next second, it felt as if they had passed through a layer of cold water and then immediately entered a warm and dry room.
The ugly doll and the spot where it stood vanished without a trace; they entered the St. Mungo's Hospital of Magical Injuries.
The next second, the surrounding environment came back into view.
The young wizards found themselves in a crowded waiting room.
Rows of male and female wizards sat on wobbly wooden chairs. Some looked normal, but seemed to be in poor spirits. Others were clearly deformed, with terrible physical deformities, such as having elephant trunks or an extra hand growing out of their chests.
Wizards' hospitals seem to be no different from Muggle hospitals.
The place was bustling with screams and strange noises, noisy and irritating.
Or perhaps the wizard's hospital was originally built based on the Muggle hospital.
The various departments and systems are simply copied verbatim.
Owen and Harry looked around curiously.
Harry lived in a Muggle family and had never seen these things before.
Irving had never seen him before. Normally, he was the one who brought others in, but he had never come in himself.
The hall was clearly divided into two parts. On one side were the pitiful wizards who had been injured by various transformation spells. Take, for example, the witch with a red face and her head puffed up like a balloon. She kept waving her fan because steam and whistles kept coming out of her ears. In the right corner, there was a slovenly wizard whose arm was integrated with a clock, making a "clanging" sound with every movement.
Sitting in the corner, he could only hold her arm tightly to prevent her from making a sound.
On the other side, to the right of the hall, there was a deathly silence.
Rows of chairs were occupied by all sorts of wizards.
They all looked normal; all their body parts were intact.
But the expression on her face was even sadder than the other side.
"They." Hermione opened her mouth, and as clever as she was, she understood everything in an instant.
"They are all relatives and friends of wizards injured in the Battle of Hogsmeade," Sirius said casually.
Upon hearing this, the young wizards nodded slightly.
In that silent desolation, a faint murmur could be heard.
"May Merlin protect you!"
"Merlin! Please save him!"
"May Merlin protect him and keep him safe."
"The walls of the hospital have witnessed the most tears and the most devout prayers," Owen suddenly said.
Everyone fell silent.
The shadow of war, at this moment, unreservedly revealed its bloody side.
As she spoke, a witch dressed in a green robe suddenly squeezed through the corridor. The badge embroidered on her chest was a cross made of a wand and bones. She held a piece of parchment in her hand.
"Look at those people, are they doctors?" Harry whispered.
"That's what Muggle hospitals call it; here they call it a healer," Hermione replied. "You need to achieve very high scores on the advanced wizarding exams to become a professional. As far as I know, you need at least certificates in Potions, Herbalism, Transfiguration, Charms, and Defense Against the Dark Arts."
"Oh, Potions? I guess I'm out of luck then. Snape won't let me pass!" Harry said. "But you'll definitely be fine, Hermione!"
"Me? I don't want to be a healer. It's too much of a responsibility, and I'm too clumsy and inexperienced. Most wizards who become healers come from Hufflepuff House." Hermione glanced up at Owen.
"That's a stereotype!" Owen protested. "But you're definitely not suited to be a healer; you should be Minister for Magic."
While they were talking, the witch walked up to an old woman.
She whispered something and handed her the parchment.
Then a mournful wail echoed throughout the hall.
The surrounding wizards, who were also silent, trembled.
They stared at the dimly lit corridor with eyes that seemed to look at the devil.
Many people shed tears at the sound of the wailing.
The sound irritated Owen, while Hermione's eyes reddened.
Clearly, Merlin showed no mercy; he took away an innocent mother's child.
Everyone turned their attention away from that heartbreaking scene.
Then I looked at the signboard and read the text: Equipment Accident Department, 1st floor; Biological Injury Department, 2nd floor; Strange Bacterial Infection Department, 3rd floor; Pharmacy and Plant Poisoning Department, 4th floor; Magical Injury Department, 5th floor; Tea Room and Shop, 6th floor.
"Go to the fifth floor. The wounded and sick from the Battle of Hogsmeade are all on the fifth floor."
"They opened up a separate area."
Sirius led everyone through a double door and down a narrow corridor.
The walls on both sides of the corridor are covered with portraits of famous therapists, and crystal bubbles filled with candles float on the ceiling, looking like giant soap bubbles.
"Oh! It's you, Owen."
One of the portraits spoke up somewhat unexpectedly.
She had long, curly silver hair and looked kind and approachable.
The portrait frame is inscribed with the words: Delis de Winter, Healer of St. Mungo (1722–1741), Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (1741–1768).
As the most famous principal, she enjoys a high reputation in history, and her portrait can be seen on many important occasions.
Devont was a very kind and approachable person. Whenever you met her in the school corridor, she would always greet the students and help the new students with directions.
Her portrait naturally appeared in the principal's office, and as a frequent visitor to the office, almost all the principals' portraits recognized her.
"If I could, I wouldn't want to come to the hospital, Principal Devon."
"Yes, nobody likes going to the hospital," she sighed. "The trauma left by war is greater than we imagine, not just physical, but also psychological."
"You're absolutely right," Irving nodded.
After nodding to the esteemed old headmaster, the group climbed the stairs and entered the Curse Damage Department.
As soon as Ron stepped onto the floor, he was thrown into the arms of a wizard dressed in a green robe.
"Oh! I'm sorry!" the wizard said hurriedly, then passed through them and disappeared around the corner of the stairs.
"So many people." Hermione peeked out and surveyed the crowded corridor.
Both sides were filled with doctors dressed in green, but there were many more ordinary people from ordinary wizarding families.
Their relatives or friends might be in one of the hospital rooms.
They continued to follow Sirius, and after a few steps, Owen heard the familiar voice of Mrs. Weasley.
She seemed to be complaining about something.
The next second, everyone entered the ward.
"Oh my god, you've come."
Mrs. Weasley placed the pumpkin porridge she was holding on the table beside the hospital bed.
Then, actually, they gave each of the little wizards a hug.
"It's really nice to see you all," she said.
"These days, there's been nothing but weeping and wailing at my door—I'm terrified," Mrs. Weasley said, looking at Harry with a sense of dread.
Ron has already written to tell her that Harry has dressed up as Voldemort again.
In the heart of this traditional witch, it was the legendary savior who had saved them once again.
"Alright, Molly," Sirius greeted her with a smile.
It's obvious they knew each other before, and were very familiar with each other.
This surprised Owen, because Mr. Weasley was not a founding member of the Order of the Phoenix.
He joined the Order of the Phoenix during the Second Wizarding War.
Furthermore, there's a significant age difference between him and Sirius. They probably didn't meet at school.
"Everything's fine now, isn't it?" he said.
Then he turned his gaze to Professor Lu Ping on the bed.
In fact, Irving noticed Professor Lupin on the bed as soon as he walked in.
His eyes darted around rapidly, and his facial muscles could move normally, but his lower body was unable to move, or rather, he was unconscious.
He noticed that Professor Lupin had a few drops of pumpkin porridge on his poor left hand, and his skin was scalded with red spots, but he didn't react at all.
He went over and used the towel hanging by the bed to wipe away the few drops of stain. "What did that feel like?"
"Death?" Professor Lupin looked at him gently. "Like entering a dream, vaguely crossing a door."
"Thank you for saving me." Owen looked sincerely into his face. "If only I had been more careful."
"There are no 'what ifs,' Irving," Lupin said. "Everyone makes mistakes, especially you, who's only fourteen. The key is whether we can learn from our mistakes and not repeat them."
The professor turned his head with difficulty, the widest he could manage, his eyes shining as he looked at him. "I just did what every professor would do, and I believe every professor at Hogwarts would do the same."
Even Snape.
"That slug?" Professor Lupin's words drew a sneer from Sirius. "I bet he'd stay far away, afraid that monster might scrape a drop of oil off his head."
On the other side, Ron nodded in agreement. It would be better to believe that Muggles could go to the moon than to believe that Snape would risk his life to protect him!
"That's right, Snape would never do that in the castle."
"Ronald!" A sudden roar sent a shiver down Ron's spine. "How dare you slander your professor like that, you ill-mannered child!"
Mrs. Weasley was furious.
She glared at Ron and yelled.
At that moment, she looked like an iron tower, even taller than Sirius Black, and her imposing presence made everyone in the ward tremble.
"Alright, Molly," Professor Lupin interjected, stopping her.
"Although Severus always seems acrimonious, I know him, and I know he will stand up, just like everyone else."
"Besides, this injury isn't necessarily a bad thing," he said.
Suddenly, he winked at Sirius.
His eyes darted toward the clock hanging on the wall.
In an instant, Sirius understood what Lupin meant.
Irving looked at the two of them, and his mind quickly began to make plans.
His astronomical knowledge is quite good; he could easily calculate that the full moon in January this year should be around January 27th.
There are still 19 days until that day.
Nineteen days later, Professor Lupin's health might improve, and his werewolf identity would not be exposed.
Everyone continued chatting.
"Merry Christmas, Professor."
Then everyone placed the Christmas gifts they had prepared on the table by Professor Lupin's window.
"Happy New Year," Professor Lupin replied with a smile.
Harry gave him a hat.
Ron gave the professor a cloak.
Hermione—she had borrowed money from Owen and had no choice; the clothes in that mall were all high-end, and she didn't know if they were good or not, but she bought them because they were from a certain brand.
With only 347 pounds left, she could only afford half a sleeve.
Having no other choice, she had to borrow money from Irving.
A two-thousand-pound suit.
It's really expensive!
As for Irving, he took out a small package filled with bottles and jars.
Once Professor Lupin opens it, he will know what those things are.
