Chapter 22 Miss Justice's First Meeting with Her Lover

Chapter 22 Miss Justice's First Meeting with Her Lover

October 7th, Thursday.

In the afternoon, Viscount Grelint was at his luxurious villa in Backlund.

Following etiquette, Audrey, accompanied by a maid, placed her hand in her master's and gave him a light kiss.

"Your beauty makes my salon shine."

Grelint first offered a normal compliment, then lowered his voice and said, "The lady has arrived; she is both an extraordinary being and a writer."

"Mr. Blake?"

Audrey briefly inquired about the "writer" that Grelint had mentioned, and then quickly asked another question.

"Over there."

Grynt paused, then pointed somewhat helplessly to a corner of the living room.

Audrey entered the living room, looked around, and quickly locked onto her target.

Wearing a well-tailored suit, Ember was sitting on the sofa, flipping through a book. His excellent eyesight and memory allowed Audrey to identify the book's title based on what she saw.

Stormy Manor

"Audrey".

Viscount Grelint's expression was strange. Noticing Audrey's gaze, he immediately changed the subject, saying, "This is Lady Fors Wall, the author of 'Storm Mountain Villa'."

Audrey slightly withdrew her gaze from observing the embers and looked up at the lady on the other side who was walking to the long table to get her dessert.

Ms. Fors was probably around twenty-three or twenty-four years old, about 1.65 meters tall. She was wearing a beige high-necked dress with ruffles, her brown hair was slightly curled and draped over her shoulders, and her light blue eyes turned towards her as Grylint introduced her, with a hint of amusement and amusement in them.

Audrey quickly analyzed Miss Fors's characteristics.

A writer who enjoys smoking has a slightly condescending, superior look in his eyes.

Clearly, she initiated the contact with Grynt.

In other words, she might have something else in mind regarding Grelint.

Is it money or extraordinary materials?

"Madam, this is Miss Audrey, whom I mentioned earlier."

With a hint of reverence, Grellin introduced her to Fors, "She is the most dazzling jewel in Backlund. Her father is Earl Hall, a senator in the House of Lords who is trusted by the King and respected by the nobles."

"Good afternoon, Ms. Fors. Your Stormy Hill House is still by my bedside."

Audrey smiled elegantly and sweetly, and bowed strictly according to aristocratic etiquette.

Ms. Fors casually exchanged a few pleasantries with them, her relaxed tone revealing a clear sense of superiority.

Soon, the two went their separate ways.

After all, they wouldn't discuss serious matters in such a public setting.

And so.

Audrey then turned her gaze to the embers.

"Audrey".

Grelint gave a wry smile. He had tried to change the subject, but Audrey persisted.

"Grelint".

Audrey suddenly asked, "What's your impression of this Mr. Blake?"

"impression?"

Grynt hesitated for a moment, then frowned and said, "Well, how should I put it? He seems to be a fallen nobleman who hasn't been in the capital for long. His purpose in attending the gathering is to expand his network, but he gives off a feeling that strangers should stay away."

"His clothes look decent enough, but he wore the same outfit to the party and the horse race last time."

"All ten fingers are covered with rings, but none of them can be described as expensive, and the styles are even a bit old-fashioned and, well, strange."

"So? What's your opinion?"

Audrey then asked.

"Fake nouveau riche."

Grynt gave a very insightful assessment.

They came here to expand their network, but gave off a "keep away" vibe, clearly playing hard to get.

But his performance was also too clumsy—

The suit looks decent enough, but it's obvious that it's been worn many times.

This shows that this is all the suit he can afford.

The old and cheap ring further accentuated the other person's false image.

He was trying to portray himself as a wealthy and sophisticated nouveau riche in an attempt to expand his network of connections.

But the seemingly dazzling array of rings, which were actually quite cheap, and his only suit gave him away.

This meant that almost everyone present saw through everything, so no one wanted to get close to the other.

"Is that so?"

A glint of light flashed in Audrey's beautiful eyes.

Her thoughts were exactly the opposite of Grelint's—

The other person's suit was exactly the same style as last time, a fact she, as a spectator, knew even better than Grelint.

But in her view, this was precisely a manifestation of the other party's lack of attention to detail.

As for that aloof and unapproachable demeanor, it wasn't a pretense; it was simply their true nature.

As for the "cheap" rings on the other person's fingers, those are the things that deserve the most attention.

As Grynt noted, most of these rings were not particularly beautiful and were even somewhat old.

Due to a lack of proper maintenance over a long period, some rings have developed cracks on their surface.

This also makes it look cheaper.

However, on the other person's left hand, Audrey saw three very familiar rings—

Two of them resemble a coiled, winding snake, with the snake's body forming a ring and its head positioned at the top as a decoration.

The two rings are very similar, except that one is gold and the other is silver.

The third one looks like a leaping cat.

At first glance, they seem strange, but upon closer inspection, these three exquisitely carved rings all give a lifelike feeling.

It was as if those snakes and cats would come to life at any moment.

And most importantly.

It was the lover Audrey had met at a tarot reading; he was also wearing these rings.

Rather than calling them cheap decorations, Audrey was more inclined to another guess—

These are magical items with all sorts of amazing effects.

"Hello, Mr. Blake."

Audrey walked past from the side, greeting the man with a sweet smile.

Grelint, witnessing this scene, was on the verge of tears.

He had already rudely pointed out that the other person was a fake nouveau riche, so why did you still insist on going up to him?

If someone dies, Count Hall will kill him!

"Um?"

Yu Jin seemed completely absorbed in his book, and it took him a long time to respond to the girl's greeting, "Hello."

"A fake name?"

Audrey immediately made a judgment in her mind.

She knew everyone here, except Ash Black and Fors.

So she knew perfectly well that there was no one else here named Blake.

The only ember named Black reacted extremely slowly, clearly indicating that this was not its real name.

But according to Grynt's account, Ash Black was a fallen nobleman.

Blake is also a noble surname.

Even his noble surname is fake. Does this mean that Ash Black's identity is far more mysterious than that of a nobleman?

Thinking of this, the girl's jewel-like eyes shone even brighter.
