Mystery: The Undead Don't Die from Linking the Fire

Chapter 132 Anything but a storm can knock down a tree!

Chapter 132 Anything but a storm can knock down a tree!

Ember gripped the hilt of Storm Ruler with both hands, leaning forward against the giant who pointed the sword's tip ahead. In an instant, the seemingly ordinary, even crudely made, dark greatsword gathered a massive amount of almost solidified gale force on its blade!

The raging winds gathered, compressed, and solidified on the sword, carrying a terrifying pressure that seemed to deform the surrounding space!

The vines and tentacles that had been cleared away by the "Wrath of the Gods" once again covered the temple walls. The writhing tentacles rapidly expanded, split, and spread, transforming once more into a massive, all-encompassing net that attacked the embers.

And for this, Ember only has one thing to do:

He swung his sword.

"boom!"

The raging wind that had been gathered on the sword transformed into a storm of freedom and liberation the moment the sword was swung! This turbulent storm, in the instant it took shape, carried a mission to destroy everything and swept towards the giant ahead!

Where the storm passed, the earth cracked, walls split, and supporting stone pillars were instantly destroyed. The once-writhing tentacles were uprooted and wiped out in a single blow!

Even though these tentacles were much harder than steel, and even though they seemed to sense the danger and quickly intertwined like a spider web in front of the female giant, forming an impenetrable defensive line that firmly protected her figure behind her.

But all of this was ultimately in vain!

Before the power of a storm, all defenses are futile!

The protective barrier formed by the plants was instantly destroyed, turning into countless pieces of plant debris and sap, only to be quickly swallowed up by the ensuing storm. And that storm, undeterred, continued its relentless assault on Omibella!

Omibella's expression was utterly indifferent. She had already sensed that the storm was nearing its end. Therefore, she didn't even consider dodging; she simply stretched out her hand expressionlessly, intending to completely annihilate the storm.

"Click!"

Omibella clenched her fist, and the storm instantly vanished.

However, on Omibella's palm, there was a huge, deep wound that revealed the bone and almost cut her palm in two!

Even though the wound only lasted for a brief moment, even though her immense life force burst forth rapidly, forming countless dense buds at the wound site, wriggling, growing, and adhering together to drive away the remaining storm power at the wound site.

In a very short time, her wound was completely healed, as if it were brand new.

Even so, the pinkish tenderness of the new flesh still seemed out of place against the surrounding grayish-blue skin.

"storm?"

The sun god, who had been observing from the shadows without making a move, showed a slight change in expression.

The embers' attack gave him an incredibly familiar feeling, but he couldn't yet pinpoint its source. However, the storm's power slightly confused him, as he needed to reclaim its power, which would inevitably lead to a conflict with the opponent.

Given his special relationship with Lilith, it will likely cause great trouble for his plans.

"No, it shouldn't be."

The Sun God shook his head; the power of the storm lay in the hands of the Elf King. He must have only achieved this through the weapons of his assistants; though seemingly immensely powerful, it was ultimately far from true authority.

Moreover, the other party cannot be the Elf King. As long as they do not compete with him for the power of the storm, they will not have any irreconcilable conflicts and will remain close allies.

But why did that weapon seem so familiar to him?

The Sun God frowned deeply. Even though he had created a clone, the effects of the Chaos Sea's erosion remained, and for a moment he couldn't quite recall what it was...

"Lilith!"

A thunderous roar, as loud as a bell, resounded throughout the hall, revealing the wrath of its master.

Omibella's eyes were filled with hatred as she looked at Lilith, but when she touched the embers in front of Lilith, her eyes were filled with fear!

Even though she was the goddess of harvest, and the immense life force granted by her authority could instantly heal all wounds, her opponent had undeniably shattered all her defenses, inflicting wounds on her flesh, which was harder than steel!

If the other party can hurt her, it means the other party can kill her!

Why are you shouting so loudly?

Lilith peeked out from behind, rolled her eyes in a mocking manner, put her slender white finger to her lips, and said sarcastically, "Besides, do you think you'll leave here alive today?"

"I want you dead!"

"Okay, okay, so your dying words were just something like a nobody's rant?"

Lilith waved her hand dismissively. She had thought Omibella would die like a god, but it turned out that was all there was to it?

Omibella roared, as if the fire of anger in her heart had been completely ignited.

Her hands, several times the size of a normal person's body, slammed onto the ground, and a tremendous life force instantly poured into the earth beneath her feet!

More and larger plants began to sprout from the hard stone floor! The fastest growing plant even grew from a green sprout into a colossal creature with a trunk tens of meters thick in a short period of time! And this enormous creature continued to grow, blocking the embers' view and breaking through the roof and walls of the temple...

However, Omibella's expression turned gloomy in an instant.

Because although the giant tree that had grown into a towering tree had broken through the roof and walls of the temple, it continued to grow larger, thicker, longer, and taller almost without restraint. Yet, the sunlight that should have streamed down after breaking through the temple roof never appeared!

The clouds and sun high in the sky had vanished. Through the dilapidated roof of the temple, she could only see a huge red moon under the night sky. In the square outside the temple, the flowers and trees she had personally nurtured were right in front of her, yet they were lifeless, dim and hazy, seemingly far away, or as if separated into two worlds by something.

Black and red, shadows and architecture, silence and plants, were presented to Omibella in such a peculiar way.

"Bang!"

Before they could even think, another storm swept in. The raging storm instantly destroyed the massive tree trunk, which was now over a hundred meters thick, cleaving the towering tree in two.

The trunk, from the roots to the crown at the top, had long since been destroyed by the storm.

The unsupported canopy crashed down with a mournful creak of the giant tree, only to be destroyed again by the lingering storm before it hit the ground. Only countless broken limbs remained.

The slender branches and leaves, cut by the storm, fluttered and drifted from the sky like a swirling green snowflake.

"The Authority of the Night! The Destroyer Wolf!"

Omibella's gaze pierced through the swirling branches, roaring like a raging, powerless lioness:

"You actually cooperated with Fregra! You're all still alive! You've all fooled us!"

"Don't yell!"

Lilith wrinkled her nose and gave a soft snort. "Do you think I'd let Fregra live? That idiot's been dead for ages, a really, really dead. But..."

Lilith's lips curled slightly. "You're right about one thing, I am indeed cooperating with the Demon Wolf, but not Fregra~ Hehe, can you guess who it is? Maybe it's someone you know~."

"You mean betrayal? No, you betrayed me first. And even if it was betrayal, so what? I'm here to kill you~ You don't expect me to fight you one-on-one, do you? No way, no way? Omi Bella, when did you become so naive?"

Omibella stared intently at Lilith, her eyes filled with almost palpable killing intent, but even more so with fear.

She comes to the Silver Kingdom every year to bless her followers. This is because she does not have as many followers as her husband, Olmir, and their faith in her is not as powerful as Olmir's. Therefore, she must constantly maintain her image and status in the eyes of her followers.

But she never imagined that one day she would be attacked in the Silver Kingdom!

This was at the foot of the Giants' Court, and Olmir's gaze was constantly fixed on this land. Even the slightest movement she made could attract Olmir's attention. And if Olmir cast his gaze upon her, he could arrive in an instant!

This ancient god, whose power is so great that only the Imaginary Dragon can rival her, is her true source of confidence!

But now, the power of darkness has completely enveloped this area. Under the cover of night, no one will know what is happening here—just like when Lilith was besieged by Fregra, even the Elf King could not arrive in time.

The current situation is exactly the same as that time, except that the protagonist has changed to herself, and her situation is even more unfavorable than Lilith's back then! After all, Lilith was a genuine Ancient God, but she is just an ordinary subordinate god.

Although the two who attacked her were not two ancient gods, they were genuine subordinate gods!

"Bang!"

The storm swept in again, wave after wave, violently destroying everything in its path. Having learned her lesson, Omibella dared not confront it head-on again. She could only rely on her authority over life to summon countless plants, harder than steel, to form a defensive line in front of her.

No matter how many lives she created, they were utterly vulnerable in the face of the raging hurricane. No matter how terrifying her life force was, the rate at which she created life was gradually falling behind the storm's destructive speed.

In areas ravaged by storms, these plants are destroyed before they even have a chance to grow.

The storm is constantly shrinking her living space, forcing her to retreat continuously!

"puff!"

A storm cleaved through the towering green wall woven from countless vines, slashing a long gash across Omibella's arm, from which dark red, almost black blood oozed. Before the blood could flow, countless tiny buds of flesh began to writhe and merge rapidly, dispelling the storm and healing the wound.

At first, these "mistakes" were only occasional. But as time went on, the defenses built by the plants in front of Omibella were crumbling under the onslaught of the storms. They could no longer withstand the storms, and more and more of them were cutting open wounds on Omibella's body.

Although vitality manifests and is utilized more effectively in Omibella, allowing her body to heal quickly from any injury, the pain of having her flesh torn apart by the storm still keeps her mind extremely tense.

If this continues, she really will die!

"Lilith!"

"boom!"

Omibella gritted her teeth and roared again, suddenly slamming her hands into the ground. Amidst the violent tremors, countless plants sprouted from the earth once more. Just as Ember thought she would repeat her trick, the once-hard stone slab suddenly became incredibly sticky and muddy, forming surging waves that swept forward!

The entire temple floor transformed into a muddy swamp at that moment, brimming with terrifying vitality that caused the plants to grow even more vigorously. It was as if Omibella was preparing for a desperate battle.

then.

She disappeared.

In front of Ember and the others, just when everyone thought she would fight to the death, Omibella's limbs suddenly and silently merged into the muddy ground, followed by her body and head, which sank rapidly as if falling into the sea!

"She's trying to escape!"

Lilith's expression changed slightly, and she quickly reminded her.

Yu Jin's expression shifted slightly, and he was about to make a move.

But the next second, from the muddy swamp, one after another, "bubbles" rose up. These bubbles surged upwards rapidly, eventually forming giant figures made of mud, each at least three or four meters tall!

They weren't just dozens, but hundreds, even thousands. Countless earth golems formed solid defensive lines, firmly blocking their path! Omibella didn't expect these earth golems to make any contribution, but at least they could hold off Ember and his group. Even holding them off for a second or two would be a victory!

Moreover, her backup plans go far beyond these, after all, this is her temple!

"Click!"

On either side of the temple, the giant stone statues that survived the destruction of the walls all came to life at this moment!

They were five or six meters tall, wearing exquisite and sturdy full-body silver armor. Some held greatswords, while others slammed giant axes into the ground. Behind each of their faceplates, a ball of orange-red light shone out, as if they were single-eyed.

Ember could sense that these giants were far stronger than the golems created by the alchemist he had previously fought, which meant that if these giants were classified according to later methods, they would be at least equivalent to demigods of Sequence 3!

Although Sequence 3 may seem inferior to Sequence 2 angels, these golems that rely solely on brute force could also have the potential to kill gods if they could break through the limitations of the angels' overpowered abilities!

Of course, it's only a possibility—just like giving a one-year-old child a pistol could still allow him to kill a fully armed special forces soldier with an AK47.

But the possibility is very small—extremely small.

Unless the angels forgo their supernatural powers and insist on fighting these golems hand-to-hand.

But just like those earth golems, Omibella never expected these statues to kill Lilith and her; in fact, they were just there to buy time.

"Looks like I'll have to take action."

Seeing that the situation had become a stalemate, the Sun God shook his head slightly, sighed softly, and stepped forward to prepare to make a move.

But the next second, he stopped again.

He saw that Ember had sheathed the greatsword that could unleash storms, replacing it with a mark resembling a flame. Just as he was wondering what Ember's purpose was in taking this out—he saw a dragon.

Or rather, the embers transformed into a dragon.

The Death of Platon Shanks

[Power gained from the memories of "Dragon King" Platon Sanks.]

It can transform itself into a dragon king and spew golden breath from the sky.

The Dragon King forever reigns supreme in the rift between time and space—

This is said to be his anguished wail as he passed away.

┗|`O′|┛Aww~~!

The instant Ember leaped into the air, a crimson lightning phantom erupted from his body, utterly tearing apart the earth golems charging from all directions! Immediately afterward, a gigantic, ferocious dragon head emerged from above Ember's head, followed by his entire body. From illusory to solid, amidst the violent crackling of lightning and the terrifying roar of the dragon, it transformed into a colossal dragon tens of meters long!

The enormous, elongated dragon head opened its mouth, radiating rays of light like the dawn, which transformed into a sweeping storm of light, spewing out golden breath that seemed capable of withering all things! Wherever the dragon's breath touched, it seemed as if all things withered away!

Whether it was the earth golem or the steel golem, which was comparable to a Sequence 3 Saint, they were completely melted, torn apart, burned, and shattered into their most primitive particle state the instant they came into contact with the beam of light! Nothing could stop the rampage and sweep of the breath; golems were annihilated, temples were destroyed, and even the earth was torn apart!

Everything in front of them was completely destroyed; it seemed that no living being could withstand that terrifying breath! What was most terrifying was that the seemingly chaotic breath was actually tracking a certain target.

Under that breath that could destroy everything, the once flat land was covered with ravines that were only a few dozen meters wide but stretched for tens of thousands of meters and were thousands of meters deep, like countless deep, bone-revealing sores, leaving the land scarred and devastated.

In the deepest part of the abyss-like ravine, thousands of meters underground, lay a half-corpse whose chest, abdomen, and head had been completely destroyed by the dragon's breath, leaving only its legs and a small part of its abdomen.

Even the Sun God, who had been watching the battle, couldn't help but twitch at the corner of his eye.

He might be able to withstand the dragon's breath attack, but he couldn't deny that it did indeed possess the power to threaten his life!

Even at this point, Omibella still didn't die.

Numerous buds of flesh writhed and crawled upwards from her half-existing abdomen, attempting to regenerate her giant body. But this would take time, and the enemy clearly wouldn't give her that time, for the golden breath continued to rage!

"Don't!……"

The sun god's eyelids twitched at the sight, and he cried out in alarm as he tried to stop it. Fortunately, the next second he saw the breath 'missed,' grazing Omibella's body, but luckily it did not destroy her remaining body.

The sun god breathed a sigh of relief, after all, what they wanted was a living Omibella, and a dead Omibella could not achieve their goal.

What he didn't know was that it wouldn't have mattered if he hadn't spoken. Because Ember had already canceled the lock, and his current breath was merely a release of excess magic power.

The sun god sighed and looked at Lilith with a helpless expression. He expected to see her with the same terrified expression, but when he looked over, he found that Lilith seemed to be, well, smiling very happily.
