Hogwarts: I'm Harry's older cousin

Chapter 94, Page 92: Malfoy: My estate is quite large.

Chapter 94, Section 92. Malfoy: My estate is quite large.

"certainly."

Hagrid said.

"Then why are you still raising it?"

Hagrid stammered for a long time but couldn't utter a single complete sentence.

He's always single-minded in his actions and never considers the future.

He knew it was illegal, but he wanted to raise them.

"Hagrid, have you thought about what to do when it's born?"

Harry stared at the dragon egg with curiosity, but he wasn't as obsessed as Ron and Malfoy. After all, he didn't grow up in the wizarding world, and the dragons didn't seem much different to him from animals in a zoo. Weren't they just big lizards that could breathe fire?

"Of course I'm keeping it at home. I've learned a lot about raising dragons, and I've even prepared brandy and chicken blood. This is a Norwegian Spinosaurus, which is very rare."

"But the Norwegian Spinosaurus was a fire-breathing dragon, while your house is made of wood."

Ron looked around the house; he didn't think it could withstand a single breath from a fire dragon.

Hagrid, however, paid no heed, humming a tune and poking at the fire, as if he hadn't heard Ron at all.

Everyone confirmed once again that Hagrid never considered things before acting.

"Why don't you sell it to me? I'm willing to pay any price!"

Malfoy offered his suggestion.

"Impossible! I won't sell it to a Malfoy!"

Hagrid shouted excitedly, but immediately realized he had been too harsh, since it was Lucius Malfoy, not Draco Malfoy, so he added, "But you can come and see it."

"Really?!"

Malfoy, who was feeling down after being rejected, suddenly perked up again.

Even as he left, Malfoy's eyes remained fixed on the fire.

He really loves dragons.

Unfortunately, Malfoy didn't notice that there was another pair of eyes behind him, staring at the dragon egg with an even more intense gaze than his own.

In the days that followed, whenever the topic of visiting Hagrid in the Forbidden Forest came up, Malfoy was always the most enthusiastic, even more so than Ron and Harry combined, and he never uttered a single word of complaint again.

The dragon egg brought a touch of comfort to the monotonous and busy lives of the morning exercise team.

Time flew by, and the day he had agreed upon with Dumbledore was drawing ever closer.

One morning, just after finishing her workout, Hedwig brought them a note.

It consisted of four words: "She's about to be born."

After the class ended, the group went to Hagrid's cabin.

Just as he said, the baby dragon was about to be born.

A small crack appeared on the dragon egg, which began to sway. As time passed, the swaying increased, accompanied by a cracking sound. With a sharp scraping sound, a wrinkled creature crawled out of the dragon egg.

Xiao Long sneezed, and a few sparks flew out of his nose.

"Isn't it beautiful?"

Hagrid murmured to himself, reaching out a hand to pat the little dragon's head. The little dragon bit his finger with pinpoint accuracy, revealing its sharp, long teeth.

"Good heavens, look! It recognizes its mother!"

"Want to touch it?"

Ron looked at himself, then at the sharp teeth in Little Dragon's mouth: "I don't think so."

Rather than seeing Hagrid as its mother, the little dragon probably saw him as food.

"Pah, wood, awful."

When Dudley heard the little dragon say that it couldn't bite through Hagrid's skin at all, it realized that Dudley was not capable of doing so.

Fantastic Beasts, activate.

"Hagrid, if I remember correctly, a Norwegian Spinosaurus can grow to the limit that your room can withstand in less than a month."

Navee said in a deep voice that he had specifically gone to see the breeding of Norwegian Spinosaurus.

The truth was even more exaggerated than Neville said. The little dragon grew at least three times its original size in just one week. It didn't even take a month. In just one more week, Hagrid would no longer be able to keep the little dragon at home.

One of his breaths, in particular, nearly set the hut on fire, which brought Hagrid back to his senses.

Xiao Long's future is really a question.

The group gathered in a circle and began to discuss it.

Malfoy offered his opinion again: "Why not give it to me? My estate is quite large."

"Brother Zack," Dudley interrupted before he could finish his suggestion, "your father Lucius will not agree. On the contrary, he will denounce Hagrid, and Malfoy Manor cannot support a dragon."

"Your father and Professor Dumbledore have never had a good relationship."

Dudley is right; unless Draco can truly become the head of the Malfoy family, this point is irrelevant.

"My suggestion is to keep them in the forbidden forest."

The Forbidden Forest is a place steeped in mythology. Every book about magical creatures records its existence here, including unicorns, eight-eyed spiders, night riders, harpies, griffins, and more. Legend has it that dragons also dwell deep within the Forbidden Forest.

"Do not disturb the sleeping dragon," is the motto of Hogwarts.

Releasing the baby dragon back into the forbidden forest is, in a sense, letting it return to nature.

"But it's too small."

Hagrid said, "It will die without my care."

"No, that's not true." Dudley shook his head: "As long as there is enough food, Norwegian Spinosaurus can complete its growth period in just one month."

"I think you should know this better than anyone else."

The dragons in this world grow at an unusually rapid pace, unlike those in other fantasy worlds who require hundreds or even thousands of years to mature. Conversely, the dragons in this world don't possess the hundreds or thousands of meters in size, the extremely high intelligence, or the exaggeratedly powerful dragon language magic described in other fantasy worlds.

Although it is still very powerful, it is not as powerful as I imagined.

"Even if you don't think about yourself, you should at least think about Professor Dumbledore."

"I think you wouldn't want to cause him trouble, right?"

"Okay, but I can't bear to part with it."

Hagrid seemed to be persuaded by Dudley, and he really didn't want to cause trouble for Dumbledore.

"You can keep it in the shallows of the forbidden forest for now. It will leave on its own when it's almost grown up. If you have a deep enough bond with it, it might come to visit you again."

Hagrid agreed to Dudley's suggestion.

A week later, when the little dragon had grown to the limit that the hut could hold, Hagrid took it to the outskirts of the Forbidden Forest.

Less than three days later, Xiaolong disappeared without a trace.

"Nober is gone; he doesn't miss his mother anymore."

At first, Hagrid was heartbroken and kept blowing his nose, but this didn't last long before he was drawn to another piece of news.

News has spread from the woods north of the Forbidden Forest that a human-headed, lion-bodied, scorpion-tailed beast has been spotted.

Upon receiving this news, Hagrid, along with Tooth, excitedly ran to the northern location to lie in wait.

He said he wanted to artificially breed a human-headed lion-bodied scorpion-tailed beast.

---

At midnight, on a full moon night, even the bright moonlight could not penetrate the dense, dark forest.

The forbidden forest, composed of these black trees, is like a giant black hole, isolated from the world.

The glowing spots on the fireflies' tails and the magical plants that glow at night, with their tiny lights, make the whole forest seem less dark, and there are constant chirping and rustling sounds all around.

It is the rustling sound of leaves being blown by the wind, and also the calls of some nocturnal creatures.

It perfectly matches the impression of the terrifying forest in fairy tales.

A blinding light swept in, forming a circle that illuminated half the forest. The magical creatures touched by the light screamed in terror and vanished into the darkness.

A high-powered flashlight?

How could Hogwarts possibly have such a thing?

That's the magic of light.
