Hogwarts: I'm Harry's older cousin

Chapter 86 The Battle of the Class 84

Chapter 86, Section 84: The Class Leader's Battle

The young wizards at Hogwarts enjoyed the delicious food laid out on the long table while listening to the Skull Band's performance.

It was incredibly moisturizing and awful.

Just as Dudley was swallowing his twenty-eighth lamb chop, Professor Quirrell, the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, suddenly burst into the restaurant. His face was filled with terror, as if he had witnessed something horrific.

Professor Quirinus Quirrell, a Ravenclaw graduate, is the current Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts. He previously served as a Muggle Studies professor. He's a guy who stutters when teaching magic. Dudley doesn't remember him well, but he's very familiar with his scent.

Besides a peculiar stench of death, there was also a strong smell of garlic on his body.

It's worth mentioning that Quirrell was originally very intelligent and had a solid theoretical foundation, but after a trip to Albania, he seemed like a completely different person.

Seeing everyone staring at him, he staggered to Professor Dumbledore's chair, leaned against the table, and panted, "Troll. I thought you should know this in the underground classroom."

His disheveled appearance suggested he was terrified by the giant monster, and after speaking, he collapsed to the floor, unconscious.

The entire restaurant was thrown into chaos.

Dali frowned slightly.

A mere giant?

As far as he knew, Professor Quirrell was best at dealing with creatures like trolls. He had once subdued a troll while studying at Hogwarts, and trolls were more dangerous and powerful than trolls.

It's just a giant monster; it might pose some threat to a young wizard, but to an adult wizard, it's nothing.

Quirrell's behavior can be described as quite unusual.

Dudley looked up at Dumbledore, not believing the other hadn't noticed.

Dumbledore first raised his voice to calm the somewhat flustered young wizards, especially the younger ones, with a few words.

Holding their wands, they couldn't utter a single word for ages; to them, trolls were definitely dangerous creatures.

"Prefects, rise," Dumbledore said in a deep voice. "Take your students to their dormitories immediately!"

The younger wizards, led by their prefects, headed toward the Slytherin common room.

Of course, this prefect was not Carlo from seventh grade, but the fifth-grade prefect who led them on the first day.

Dali naturally followed behind.

He wasn't particularly interested in trolls, mainly because the only thing a troll could use as a potion was its snot, and crucially, that stuff was available for purchase.

The troll smelled absolutely awful.

How to describe it? It's roughly like a mixture of rotten onions and cabbage, mixed with a bit of three-year-old expired canned herring, along with the smell of rotten butter and stale excrement that has been fermenting in a latrine for dozens of days.

A strange, foul odor wafted from not far away, making Dali's eyes light up.

"Yes, that's the taste."

Malfoy, who was right behind Dudley, asked.

"Brother D, what's that smell?"

He found out very quickly.

"Ugh, it stinks!"

Malfoy covered his nose and gagged a few times.

The young wizards around them also started gagging, and one or two of them couldn't hold it in and actually vomited. And that was it; like dominoes, it created a chain reaction, and one after another, the young wizards started vomiting.

The smell of vomit mixed together was incredibly pungent.

"A troll! It's a troll!"

The prefect seemed to realize what was happening as well. He looked around warily, fearing that a giant might suddenly appear, while quietly urging the young wizards to return the way they came. However, by this time, many of the young wizards were already lying on the ground, almost vomiting bile.

To prevent congestion, the routes taken by older and younger students are different.

Of the four houses, only Slytherin went downhill, so the people from the other three houses weren't nearby either.

Currently, the only one here who can deal with the giant is yourself.

The fifth-year prefect looked extremely nervous; his fingers gripping his wand were white, a far cry from his initial nonchalance.

Seeing that Dudley was the only one still standing among the lower-years of Slytherin, the prefect's face showed a look of despair.

"Go find the other prefects and professors quickly."

There was no way he would abandon the young wizards and run away.

"I think it's too late." Dali pointed to the figure that was gradually appearing around the corner.

Such a strong stench means that a giant is nearby.

It was a monster that was at least twelve feet tall, with dull, granite-like skin. Its enormous, clumsy body resembled a huge pile of pebbles, topped with a small head the size of a cocoa bean.

Its short legs were as thick as tree stumps, and below them were flat, rough, calloused feet.

It was holding a thick wooden stick in its hand, which dragged on the ground because of its long arms.

"Run! I'll hold him off!"

"Obstacles!" the prefect shouted, then pulled out his wand and pointed it at the troll.

This is a simple and limited curse that often appears in wizard duels and can effectively slow down the opponent.

With a wave of the wand, blue-green sparks burst from its tip, creating countless transparent obstacles around the troll and hindering its progress, further slowing it down.

Obstacles typically manifest in one of four states: briefly pausing the opponent, forcing the opponent to retreat, creating obstacles to block the opponent, or directly slowing down the opponent.

The prefect's effect is clearly to block obstacles.

Unfortunately, the obstacles are numerous and can be overcome with simple physical attacks.

Strength is exactly what trolls have in abundance.

The giant let out a roar and slammed down the wooden club it was carrying, shattering it instantly.

The prefect seemed to have anticipated this; all he had to do was stop the giant for a moment, and he prepared his spell again: "Flock of Birds!"

Countless birds flew from the tip of the wand and began pecking at the troll, but the attack was so weak it wouldn't even tickle the troll.

The seemingly unintelligent giant was drawn to the magical birds and reached out to grab them.

The prefect seized the opportunity and unleashed another spell, this time targeting the weapon in the troll's hand.

"Crushed to pieces!"

The large wooden stick turned into countless fragments.

Discard the weapon.

If that thing were to sweep across the land, it would be a devastating blow to the young Slytherin wizards.

With another wave of his wand, several vines sprouted from the surrounding walls, firmly securing the troll's limbs and lifting its body into the air, rendering it powerless.

Transfiguration spell.

Logically, dealing with magical creatures like trolls should be taught in Defense Against the Dark Arts class, but Hogwarts currently has virtually no Defense Against the Dark Arts class.

So even as the prefect of the fifth grade, he had zero experience in dealing with trolls.

This prefect was simply relying on his experience to deal with the giant.

It was all interconnected, with each spell released at just the right moment; both the spells and the transmutation spells were quite ingenious.

This wizard's fighting style caught Dudley's eye.

At the same time, they are also considering how they should respond if they were to encounter the other person.

It was probably before the opponent could unleash their first spell that they were killed.
