Hogwarts: I'm Harry's older cousin
Chapter 472, Section 467: Dumbledore's End
Chapter 472, Section 467: Dumbledore's End
Everything went very smoothly; there was no resistance whatsoever at Hogwarts, and the entire castle seemed to have given up.
No, that's not entirely true. The only obstacle is Dumbledore.
The group of four successfully reached the Hogwarts Observatory, where they saw Dumbledore, who was too weak to move and could only sit on the ground.
Yes, it was Dumbledore. Voldemort had never seen an enemy so weak, an enemy he had always dreamed of killing.
There were five or six Death Eaters lying dead beside him, clearly defeated by him just now.
Even in his weakened state, he is still Dumbledore, the greatest white wizard of the 20th century, who can defeat the Death Eaters with just a few words of magic.
Unfortunately, there were far too many Death Eaters, and Voldemort himself was also present.
Voldemort looked down at his former Transfiguration professor, who was leaning against a pillar, so weak that he could barely lift a finger.
"Professor Dumbledore, you didn't expect to see us again, did you? And in this way at that. You don't look too well right now. Hehehe."
"Do you need me to call a therapist from St. Mungo's Hospital for you?"
His tone was more relaxed than ever before, and he even made a rare witty remark.
Time seemed to rewind to their childhood, when Dumbledore and Voldemort first met at the orphanage, only their identities were reversed.
He, Voldemort, is the one who holds the initiative.
Voldemort's gaze then shifted to the Elder Wand in his hand.
His eyes immediately turned greedy.
"What a beautiful wand, it's just a pity it chose the wrong master."
The Elder Wand, the Death Wand. A treasure capable of manipulating life and death, a divine artifact coveted by countless wizards.
But is it pretty? To be honest, it's just a bunch of round, bumpy protrusions, bare and utterly lacking in aesthetic appeal.
If we're talking about beautiful wands, Hermione's grapevine wand has to be the best.
For Voldemort, beauty was linked to power. For example, he thought he looked very beautiful now, much more beautiful than when he was in school.
If he obtains this wand, combined with his devastating power, it would be like adding wings to a tiger; no one in the entire wizarding world would be his match.
When the time comes, Harry Potter and his destined rival will be nothing more than a magic spell to defeat him.
"I don't think so, Tom."
Dumbledore leaned against a pillar in the observatory and said weakly that if he moved forward even half an inch, he might fall off.
"Really? But it'll be mine soon."
Voldemort was in no hurry to make a move; in his view, victory was now assured.
"Let me think about how I can play around with my former professor. How about a duel?"
"If you lose, the wand is mine, and I will punish you with the cruelest torture, Professor Dumbledore."
Voldemort hadn't called Dumbledore "Professor" for many years, but now he didn't feel awkward at all; he was always magnanimous towards someone who was about to die.
Without waiting for Dumbledore's reply, he continued, "What's the first thing to do in a duel? That's right, bow. Bow."
As he spoke, he bowed to Dumbledore first, then looked at Dumbledore lying motionless on the ground and said, "Professor, you are very rude, but I can let it go."
"Then, with your backs to your opponent, each take three steps."
He spoke again, then turned around, his back to Dumbledore.
One
two
Before Voldemort could even count to three, Dumbledore, as if experiencing a sudden burst of energy before death, abruptly raised his right hand and pointed his wand at Voldemort's back.
He's just fast, but there are people who are faster than him.
"Master, be careful!"
With a loud roar, a dark green light illuminated the entire observatory.
"Avada Kedavra, eating a giant melon!"
The spell struck Dumbledore in the chest, the wand fell from his hand, and he was thrown into the air, his body swaying in the air like a tattered rag doll before slowly falling backward, plummeting from directly above the observatory until it disappeared from sight.
When Voldemort turned around, Dumbledore had already been struck by the Killing Curse and was falling from the sky.
"Bellatrix! Who gave you permission to kill him?!"
Voldemort roared furiously, his voice echoing throughout the entire observatory.
He hadn't even begun to torment Dumbledore, he hadn't even experimented with any new spells on him. How could Dumbledore die now?!
"I see he's going to attack you, Master."
Bella argued loudly, saying she had seen it; Dumbledore was about to ambush Voldemort.
However, Voldemort didn't care about any of that; all he knew was that he couldn't kill Dumbledore with his own hands right now.
"How could his frail body possibly hurt me?"
"Or do you really think I'd be hurt by a wizard so weak he can't even lift a wand?"
Bella immediately prostrated herself on the ground, crying out in fear and trepidation, "No, no, I never thought of that, Master, you have to believe me!"
Voldemort took a deep breath. Although he wanted to punish his servant, now was not the time to do so.
Anyway, since Dumbledore was already dead, no matter what happened, he had already achieved half of his goal.
The other half.
"The Elder Wand is coming!"
Voldemort shouted loudly and then stretched out his right hand. The Death Eaters around him held their breath, afraid of interfering with Voldemort's spellcasting.
After a long while, all around was quiet and there was no reaction.
"The Elder Wand is coming!"
Voldemort shouted again, but there was still no response.
"As expected of the renowned and strongest magic wand."
Voldemort coughed lightly and offered a compliment to cover his embarrassment, then immediately roared at the Death Eaters beside him.
"What are you all standing there for? Go find that wand! I don't care what method you use, you have to find it!"
"Whoever finds it first will receive my reward."
The Death Eaters then seemed to wake from their daze, howling that they wanted to be the first to find the wand.
Just then, the observatory door was kicked open, and a disheveled Death Eater stumbled in.
Upon seeing Voldemort and his companions, he shouted in an almost hoarse voice, "They're insane! Insane! The Hogwarts students have all gone mad!"
"They defeated us and captured Rabastan! They...they are so powerful, they don't seem like students at all."
In the principal's office, Dudley stood up from his seat, looked at the scene on the crystal screen, and chuckled softly.
The first act of the Death Eaters' invasion of Hogwarts, the death of Dumbledore, has ended; now we are in the second act, the battle to annihilate the Death Eaters.
