Chapter 444, Section 438: Too short, only four meters.
Night, the forbidden forest, deep within
"Brother D, why did you bring us to the Forbidden Forest?"
Harry and the others followed Dudley through a patch of light bushes and into a forest filled with tall trees. The Forbidden Forest might be a dangerous place for others, but to Dudley it was no different from his own backyard.
Yes. The backyard in the literal sense.
The magical creatures he tamed have all been released into the Forbidden Forest, and they have already occupied the east, west, south, and north of the Forbidden Forest. He can summon a large army of magical creatures at any time with just one command.
"It wasn't me who brought you here, it was Hagrid. Hagrid has something to discuss with us."
"That's what Dali said as he led the way," said Dali.
The place where Hagjo and his companions were was not the cabin on the edge of the Forbidden Forest, but deeper inside it.
"But why did you have to arrange it so late at night?"
Ron was complaining under his breath when a sudden "crack" startled him. It turned out that Neville had accidentally stepped on and broken a branch.
"Coward," Draco rolled his eyes and said sarcastically.
Everyone has something they're afraid of.
Ron tried to argue, "I'm not afraid of anything, except ghosts."
Draco glanced at him sideways, then suddenly widened his eyes, pointed at Ron's shoulder, and shouted.
"There's a spider on your shoulder!"
The instant he uttered those words, Draco swore it was the sharpest scream he had ever heard, one that nearly killed him from the close proximity.
"Where?! Where?!" Ron felt a tingling sensation on his scalp, jumping up and down like a monkey, his screams echoing throughout the Forbidden Forest. He cried out to Harry, his voice trembling with fear, "Harry, Harry, quickly swat it away for me!"
"."
Harry covered his face and said weakly, "There's nothing there. Draco was just teasing you."
"What happened to being afraid of ghosts?"
Draco picked at his ear while giving Ron a mocking look.
"Spiders are an exception!"
Ron defended himself loudly.
Where Ron and Draco are, there is joy. The two are like a pair of bickering lovers who love to tease each other all the time.
Before they knew it, the group had arrived at the place they had agreed to meet Hagrid.
Hagrid stood directly under a large tree and waved happily when he saw Dudley and the others.
"It's here."
He seemed to be lowering his voice, but the sound he actually made was no different from a normal person shouting.
"Hagrid, what brings you here so late?"
"Harry asked."
"I need your help." His tone was urgent. Hagrid stepped forward and beckoned to the group. "Come with me."
Hagrid led the group a short distance further and they came to a nettle field. Not far ahead of this nettle field was a huge, smooth mound of earth that rose and fell rhythmically.
It was obvious that this was not a real mound of earth, but a huge humanoid creature lying flat on the ground.
"My God, this is a giant, a real giant."
Ron exclaimed in surprise.
"Shh, keep your voice down," Hagrid immediately stopped Ron. "He just fell asleep."
"How did you find him here?"
Harry, equally curious, asked, "I heard from D that giants all joined the Death Eaters, didn't they?"
Hagrid paused noticeably when faced with Harry's question, thinking for a long while before finally saying, "He's my brother."
"Younger brother? Then what about you two?"
Neville looked at Hagrid's towering three-meter-tall frame with a sense of relief.
No normal person would grow that big.
"He was driven out, driven out by the leader of the giants."
Hagrid pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and wiped his eyes, then began to ramble on about his experience: "I arrived at the giants the day before those despicable Death Eaters went to visit them, and we had already reached an agreement. But the giants suddenly changed their minds, apparently because the Death Eaters had promised them something."
"If I hadn't reacted quickly, you might not have seen me. Gropp was also kicked out around that time."
"Glopp?"
Draco heard an unfamiliar name in Hagrid's words.
"That's the child's name."
Hagrid glanced at his sleeping brother with a hint of indulgence, and the latter sneezed, a sound as loud as thunder.
"You got me involved?" Harry continued to ask.
Hagrid shook his head: "No, it's because he's too short, everyone bullies him and now he's been kicked out."
"His size," Draco said, glancing at Grop's massive, mountain-like frame.
"Too short?"
Neville felt a dryness in his throat.
Ron: "???"
"The height of normal giants is around 20 feet (6 meters), and some exceptional ones can reach 26 feet (8 meters)."
Hermione explained to her good-for-nothing companions, "Glopp is significantly shorter than this guy, so he's usually ostracized by his peers, which is normal."
Hagrid quickly replied, "Yes, Grop is only sixteen feet (4 meters) tall, so he's always getting bullied."
Even at only sixteen feet tall, it is still a behemoth to the average person.
"So how do you want us to help you?"
Harry was too lazy to even complain and went straight to the point.
"Could you look after him for me if you have time?"
Hagrid said in a muffled voice, "Spend more time with him, preferably playing with him, so he won't get bored. Don't worry about food, he'll find something for himself."
Hearing Hagrid say that, Hermione couldn't help but speak again: "As far as I know, giants are very volatile creatures. Are you sure he won't be in danger?"
Hagrid quickly waved his hand and explained, "No, how could he be dangerous? He's harmless."
However, the harmlessness Hagrid speaks of is fundamentally different from the harmlessness understood by ordinary people.
Harry and his classmates knew this when they were in their first year.
"Hagrid," Dudley, who had been silent for a long time, finally spoke up, "Could your brother be my sparring partner for a while?"
"Now that the Titans have joined the Death Eaters, we will inevitably have to fight them in the future, so we need to get used to fighting Titans in advance."
Hearing Dudley say that, Hagrid looked very happy: "That shouldn't be a problem. I think Gropp will be very happy to have someone to play with."
In just a few words, Hagrid sold his brother.
"Then let's start from today."
Seeing that Hagrid agreed, Dudley walked up to the mountain-like Grop and said, "The first thing to do is wake him up."
"Glopp, it's time to get up."
Hagrid realized what Dudley was about to do and quickly shouted at him, "Dudley, no! Gropp has a bad temper; if you get woken up..."
