Hogwarts: I'm Harry's older cousin
Chapter 439, Section 433: Snape, the Poisoner
Chapter 439, Section 433: 'Snape the Poisoner'
An uninvited guest has arrived at the terrifying castle in Transylvania today.
He wore a long black robe and a hood, which concealed his face.
Snape.
If anyone were to lift the hood, they would surely see that Snape's face was extremely grim.
Along the way, he saw many desolate towns and villages, dilapidated and stained with blood. He knew that these were the work of Voldemort's henchmen, and only they would do such cruel things.
Indeed, since the Death Eaters and their demi-human counterparts arrived, the balance between vampires and Muggles has been broken, and no living human can be seen for miles around.
They were all eaten.
Eating in the literal sense.
The Death Eaters are alright; they are normal people. Except for a very few psychopaths who enjoy torturing ordinary people, most of them are fine as long as you don't provoke them. The werewolves are in a similar situation. Even if they transform into werewolves on the night of the full moon, they only hate humans and bite them to turn them into their own kind.
The remaining subhuman race is the key. Giants need food, humanoid witches need food, banshees need food, and dementors need food. Crucially, the diets of these creatures are all inextricably linked to humans.
So the giants attacked the town, devouring the adults, the humanoid witches ate the children, the banshees indiscriminately absorbed the sweet 'fear' in the sky, and the Dementors stole people's happiness, leaving only despair on earth.
Each has its own role and takes what it needs.
The ordinary people did organize a counterattack, but they couldn't see the Dementors and Banshees, and ordinary firearms couldn't hurt the giants. Bulgaria was a small country, and Transylvania was an even more remote place. The humanoid witches also had magical powers, so the counterattack only led to an even more desperate future.
Thus, one uninhabited area after another was left behind.
"Hey, isn't this Snape? Reporting in so late?"
As soon as Snape entered the terrifying castle, he heard a sarcastic voice: "Did you know you couldn't escape, so you came here specifically to atone to your master?"
Snape ignored the mockery and continued forward.
Not everyone knew that Snape was an undercover agent.
Even if Voldemort was stupid, he wouldn't be stupid enough to go around telling everyone that Snape was a spy.
"Hey, Snape, you haven't answered my question yet."
However, the other party clearly did not want to let Snape go and stepped aside to block Snape's path.
"Get out of the way of Travers." Snape looked at him coldly. "I don't have time to waste here. I need to see my master. He's summoning me."
Travers, one of the more powerful members of the Death Eaters, whose status was second only to Voldemort's close subordinates like Dolohov, personally killed the entire family of Marlene McKinnon, one of the original members of the Order of the Phoenix.
He is cruel by nature.
"The master summoned you a year ago," Travers said bluntly, looking at Snape with disdain. "Do you think you can just see the master whenever you want? Traitor, you're just like Lucius and the others. You betrayed the master when things went wrong, except that you not only betrayed him, but you also sided with the master's mortal enemy, Dumbledore."
"I don't have time to listen to your nonsense. I have important matters to report to my master. Get out of my way and don't make me use force against you."
Snape, whose face was already cold and sinister, was now even more icy.
"What if I don't allow it?"
Travers looked at Snape defiantly: "You think I'm afraid of you?"
"What potions master? He's just a cowardly opportunist. I really don't know why my master ever valued such a thing."
He did it on purpose, to provoke Snape so he could rightfully teach him a lesson and show everyone that Travers was no less capable than anyone else.
It's often said that the more you lack something, the more you want to prove it, and this statement makes a lot of sense.
He forgot one thing: he wasted more than ten years in Azkaban, while Snape spent more than ten years brewing potions at Hogwarts.
"Very well. It seems you've forgotten who I am."
Snape pulled a small bottle from his wide sleeve, flicked it with his thumb, and the cork traced a graceful arc in the air.
Three seconds later, Travers collapsed to the ground as if he had suffered a stroke, with no part of his body under his control except for his mouth.
"What did you do to me, you bastard!"
Travers cursed, but he was actually panicking. He didn't even realize when Snape had attacked him.
"Nothing much, just a small bottle of poison."
As if to complement him, the test tube in his hand began to slowly emit purple smoke, which looked quite terrifying.
Snape, however, held it under his nose, took a gentle sniff, and looked completely blissful.
His appearance caused the Death Eaters, who had been watching the spectacle, to all take a step back.
"Don't worry, you're not going to die, you sleepyhead, you're not going to die." Snape looked at Travers with disdain, who had been taunting him one second and was now lying dead the next.
I hate people who go looking for trouble.
His move directly shocked the Death Eaters who shared Travers's ideas.
Snape's ability to gain Voldemort's trust and even befriend Lucius, the former number two of the Death Eaters, is undoubtedly remarkable.
"Snape the Poisoner" was Snape's former title among the Death Eaters.
His poison is colorless and odorless, allowing people to be poisoned without even realizing it.
"Torn apart!"
A whooshing sound came from behind him, and a transparent spell struck Snape's back. However, as if he had eyes in the back of his head, Snape slid his wand out of his sleeve and gently tapped it behind him. Immediately, a barrier rose up behind him, perfectly blocking the spell.
The entire movement was very fluid and seamless, performed in one go.
"Fortunately, I had occasionally attended the Duelists' Club organized by the Dursleys before, otherwise I might have actually fallen victim to this sudden attack."
As Snape thought this, a fine layer of sweat appeared on the back of his neck.
He's pretty good at direct combat, but perhaps because he's a potion master, he's not very good at dealing with sneak attacks.
Then they saw the attacker clearly: a blond, hulking Death Eater, probably a size smaller than Harry. He was staring intently at Snape, holding up a wand that looked like a small twig, ready to strike Snape a second time.
Snape was prepared; he would render his opponent completely incapable of fighting in the next round.
"Dolphin, what are you doing?"
A cold, stern voice rang out; it was Lucius leading a group of Death Eaters over.
