Hogwarts: I'm Harry's older cousin
Chapter 431, Section 425: Our Professor Snape said the same thing.
Chapter 431, page 425. Our Professor Snape said the same thing.
It was still Hogwarts, still the familiar headmaster's office, still Fudge, still Dumbledore.
Fudge stood before Dumbledore, who was a head taller than him, and asked softly, "Albus, are you really not going to help me? You know I need you."
"Gellert, you should know that I'm doing very well at Hogwarts."
Dumbledore simply turned his head slightly, not looking at 'Fudge': "Besides, according to the agreed plan, I will 'die' in another year, so going to the Ministry of Magic at this time is completely unnecessary."
After he finished speaking, the room fell silent.
"Your student is doing quite well in Transylvania. He tried to subdue the vampires there by force, but unfortunately, he failed."
Fudge changed the subject, seemingly very unwilling to dwell on the issue of death, especially since Dumbledore was associated with it, even though it had been agreed upon from the beginning.
Although vampires were classified as dark creatures, they are now considered part of the human race and possess extremely high intelligence.
Unlike giants and humanoid witches who feed on humans, and fairies, banshees, and some werewolves who are hostile to humans.
Vampires get along very well with wizards, more so than with other demi-human races.
Similar to the relationship between ghouls and wizards, they can coexist harmoniously like a family.
This is mainly due to the fact that there is not much difference between vampires and ordinary wizards, and the proportion of handsome men and beautiful women in this race is much higher, which is especially important in a world that values appearance.
There was a vampire at Fleur and Bill's wedding in the original book, and there was also a vampire at Professor Slughorn's Slug Club.
This is quite different from the image of evil vampires depicted in many stories.
However, there's a prerequisite: you can't offend the other party. Otherwise, vampires are the most troublesome of all demi-human races, and their magic is almost identical to that of wizards. Quirrell, a first-year student, claimed that he had offended a vampire, which is why he was wearing a garlic-smelling 'head bag' similar to that of Nasreddin.
Most importantly, vampires are not afraid of death.
They have already died once. Death is a release for many vampires because they cannot commit suicide.
It would be nearly impossible for Voldemort to force them into submission.
"The vampires spontaneously rallied together and fought back, and I heard they lost many of their newly recruited subordinates."
Fudge glanced at Dumbledore's expression and continued, "It caused quite a stir locally, so much so that the Romanian Ministry of Magic sent people over."
"They found out?"
Although Dumbledore was talking to Fudge, he didn't even glance at him, and instead teased Fudge, who had gained at least three times his size.
Fawkes was so annoyed by Dumbledore that he simply turned around and left his backside facing him.
"No," Fudge said with a sneer. "What do you expect those good-for-nothings to find? If it weren't for you and your good student Newt in Austria, I wouldn't have been discovered."
Although he was still facing away from himself, Fudge seemed to sense Dumbledore's displeased gaze and quickly replied honestly, "He has taken control of the Ministry of Magic in Transylvania, and they haven't found anything in Romania."
There's an old saying in the wizarding world: "It's better to expect a pig to fly than to expect the Ministry of Magic to do anything."
In the magical world, at least pigs can actually fly.
"Fudge" pulled a small bag out of his pocket. Fox, who had been hiding in his nest with only his chrysanthemum showing, suddenly turned his head and stared at the small bag with sharp eyes. A drop of clear liquid unconsciously seeped from the corner of his mouth.
"Hehe." Fudge chuckled smugly at Dumbledore's retreating figure. He had just pulled a black pin from his small bag when he felt a bolt of lightning flash past him. By the time he realized what was happening, the small bag in his hand had vanished.
On the other side, Fox let out a satisfied burp in its den. Its once bulky body had disappeared, replaced by a firm and strong physique. With a forceful pull of its paw, an empty bag floated out of the den, the very same one that 'Fudge' had been holding.
Spending too much time with Dudley makes even a magical creature like him learn to work out.
"Fuji" rubbed his hands together, looking slightly embarrassed.
Just then, Dumbledore spoke up: "Gellert, doesn't this plot seem familiar?"
"Of course I'm familiar with it. It's the same thing I did before, except he chose to use the Soul Reaper's Curse to control the other person directly, a method that's quite unskilled."
Fudge looked disgusted, clearly disapproving of Voldemort's methods. Although he also used the Imperius Curse, he would often choose to talk things out first.
In his words, the art of language is often more captivating than magic.
The two men talked at length about Voldemort's situation, as if everything Voldemort had done had happened right under their noses.
Perhaps even Voldemort didn't understand it as clearly as they did.
“Gellert, Tom is not like you. He is more cruel, bloodthirsty, powerful, and insane.” Dumbledore walked to his headmaster’s chair and sat back down. “Moreover, after multiple magical transformations and soul splits, there is little humanity left in his mind. He is extremely dangerous, like an unstable mixture, and could explode at any moment.”
"I think the term 'time bomb' would be more appropriate."
"Fuji" corrected.
"Albus, I think you should also learn more about Muggle weapons, which can effortlessly achieve the destructive spells that you spend a lot of effort to unleash."
Dumbledore ignored Fudge's comment and continued, "If we fail this time and don't completely eliminate him, I'm worried he might do something even more insane."
"That's why I'm here, under the identity of Fudge."
Fudge tried to comfort Dumbledore.
Dumbledore shook his head: "We're not the point. We're old; the future belongs to the younger generation."
Who knew that these words would strike a chord with "Fuji"?
"Is he planning to train his protégé the same way he trained Newt?"
Fudge is like a name that clashes with Newt's; every time he's mentioned, he looks indignant and harbors deep resentment.
"It can't be considered training, after all, it's Dali."
Before Dumbledore could finish speaking, he was interrupted by an excited Fudge.
"What a pity, this time Dursley is my student! Not yours!"
Seeing his old friend acting like a child asserting ownership of a new toy, Dumbledore shook his head with amusement.
So he decisively took action.
"Our Professor Snape said the same thing. He was the first professor to take Dudley as his disciple and intend for him to follow in his footsteps."
