Chapter 402, Page 396: A Bed Filled with the Scent of Sunshine

As the Death Eaters who had escaped from Azkaban were re-imprisoned in the Ministry of Magic's prison, the Aurors who had participated in the operation stood tall and proud.

This is the first major victory for the Ministry of Magic in over a decade.

Although the credit goes to the Minister of Magic Fudge for his effective leadership, as a participant in this operation, I should at least get some credit and honor, right?

Now let's see who dares to say the Aurors are useless!

Unsurprisingly, the Daily Prophet reported the news, and it's unclear where they got the information, but they described the details of the operation in great detail.

Furthermore, the title and content endlessly praised Fudge, calling him wise and powerful, and the world's most outstanding Minister of Magic.

This delighted Fudge, who read the newspaper over and over again, muttering to himself. He was practically jumping for joy and wanted to get a megaphone so he could broadcast it on repeat.

Overjoyed, Fudge rewarded everyone who participated in the battle, promoting people of different ranks and levels.

Especially Percy, who was responsible for "obtaining accurate intelligence, devising strategies, and overseeing the implementation of plans." Fudge specially created a position of chief secretary for him (similar to the deputy minister of Umbridge, a nominal position with little power; Fudge wasn't good at scheming, but he was good at making empty promises and even materializing them, although they weren't very substantial). If Percy weren't too young and had little support, Fudge would have really wanted to give him the position of director of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.

It's better to hand this position over to a trusted confidant than to a stranger.

Fudge felt very sorry about this.

Percy said he was still young and had plenty of opportunities.

Working at the Ministry of Magic is a pleasant experience; aside from certain special circumstances where people voluntarily work overtime, they usually leave work on time.

After a busy day, Percy returned to the Weasleys' home, the Burrow.

A house decorated haphazardly, in a purely magical style that completely defies the laws of physics.

As I gently pushed open the door, a delightful aroma wafted towards me; it was clear that Mrs. Weasley had prepared another delicious meal.

"Oh my god, look! Who's back?!"

Fred pointed at Percy in an almost exaggerated tone.

"Oh, it's the great Lord Percy who has arrived."

Fred immediately echoed his sentiment.

"Make way for the minister."

The twin brothers, who should have been attending Hogwarts, were at home having fun.

"You two, shut up! You rarely come back, and you can't even give me a moment's peace. Can't you learn from your brother and find a decent job at the Ministry of Magic?"

Mrs. Weasley placed a large bowl of fragrant, unidentified substance on the table, while constantly grumbling about her two unreliable sons.

When she saw Percy, she gave him a kind look: "Honey, go upstairs and get some rest. I'll call you when it's time to eat."

Percy smiled back at his mother, then dragged his weary body upstairs to his room.

Honestly, he was very tired.

He was in charge of the entire operation to capture the Death Eaters, and he coordinated all the details. Now that the plan had finally succeeded, all he wanted to do was have a good meal and then get a good night's sleep.

He didn't even feel like replying to his girlfriend's letters, let alone arguing with his two foolish twin brothers.

George was alright; his words just went in one ear and out the other. But Fred had a terrible temper.

"Learn like Percy?" Fred immediately retorted, "Work for the Ministry of Magic as Fudge's lackey?"

The news of Fudge storming into Hogwarts and confronting Dumbledore spread throughout the school, and Percy, as Fudge's secretary, naturally didn't fare well.

"Fred, how many times do I have to tell you, your father is also an official of the Ministry of Magic. Does that mean your father is also a lackey?"

"I am George."

Fred tried to argue, but Mrs. Weasley didn't believe him at all.

"Okay, pretend to be George's Fred."

If she still doesn't recognize anyone after all these years, then she's a terrible mother.

Then Frederick's protest could be heard again: "But Daddy isn't doing anything for Fudge!"

"He's Fudge's secretary. If he doesn't do things for Fudge, why would he do things for you?"

Mrs. Weasley tapped the iron pot on the stove and asked in return.

"That's not right."

"Fred, right and wrong are not as simple as they seem."

"Sometimes I really don't understand, is it so hard to admit that your older or younger brother is outstanding?"

Amid Mrs. Weasley's roaring downstairs, Percy pushed open his bedroom door and collapsed onto his bed.

Percy drifted off to sleep, enveloped in the scent of laundry detergent and sunshine in his bed.

Nowhere is as comfortable as home.

'Pa pa pa'

After an unknown amount of time, the sound of flapping wings was heard in the room.

Percy rubbed his head and sat up in bed.

On the table in front of him, a green Den Den Mushi with orange edges was slowly wriggling, and the sound of its wings flapping was coming from its mouth.

I glanced out the window; the moon hung high in the branches, it was clearly very late.

"Hey, who would come looking for me this late?"

Percy stretched, called out to the Den Den Mushi, and then got up to answer the phone.

"Hello, I'm Percy."

"I am Dursley."

Percy perked up when he heard the voice coming from the other end of the Den Den Mushi.

It seems we need to take action.

A moment later, Percy hung up the phone with a serious expression.

Just as he was planning something in his mind, a huge "rumble" from his abdomen brought him back to his senses.

It seems I haven't even had dinner yet.

So Percy immediately changed into his pajamas and went downstairs.

Hopefully there's still some food left; everyone should have finished eating and gone back to their rooms to rest by now.

In the dining room of the Burrow, on the long table of the Weasley family home, there was a large covered container with several small bowls inside, all filled with dishes that Mrs. Weasley had prepared that day—clearly reserved for him.

There was a note next to the blanket with a few words written on it. It said that since he was sleeping so soundly, they didn't wake him up for meals, but reminded him to heat up his food before eating if he was hungry, as eating too much cold food would upset his stomach.

Wizards' restaurants naturally don't have microwaves, but they have magic.

Percy pointed his wand at the food, and it soon became steaming hot.

Percy picked up a sandwich and began to devour it.

No matter where you go or when, the food made by your family is always the most delicious in the world.

Even if it's just to protect the best family in the world, I must complete the mission.
