Hogwarts: I'm Harry's older cousin
Chapter 391, page 385: The Second Attack from the Dark Lord
Chapter 391, Section 385: The Second Attack from the Dark Lord
Amelia Borns dragged her tired body back to her home.
Today's attack was not unexpected.
Fortunately, they had already discussed and formulated corresponding contingency plans with Rufus Scrimgeour in the Auror office, and notified the nearby Aurors as soon as the Death Eaters appeared.
Under Scrimgeour's leadership, all but one of the Death Eaters, Antonin Dolokhov, were captured, as he was too cunning to be captured.
I believe it won't be long before we regain information on those escapees.
"You're late, my dear sister."
The male wizard, who looked to be around thirty years old, greeted Amelia warmly.
Asja Borns, Amelia Borns' younger brother.
"I'm sorry, Asga, I had to deal with some things along the way," Amelia said apologetically.
Amelia didn't intend to tell Asgar about the attack on her at the Ministry of Magic, so as not to make him worry about her.
"It's such a rare family gathering, and you're late because of work. That's really inexcusable."
Asga brought over a cup of hot tea with a complaint. He understood his sister's serious attitude towards work; the children of the Borns family were all so earnest.
"Where are the children?"
Amelia took a sip, feeling a slight warmth in her body, and then asked.
Asga shrugged, indicating, "They're all probably asleep by now."
Although the Weasleys are known for their prolific reproduction, there are actually quite a few wizarding families with just as many members as them, and the Burns are one of them. However, one of their branches was wiped out by Voldemort himself more than a decade ago (Edgar Burns).
If the Burns family hadn't met Voldemort, they would undoubtedly have been the most powerful family in the entire wizarding world, without exception.
'Bang, bang, bang'
Before the two siblings could exchange more than a few words, there was a sudden knock on the door of the Burns' house.
When Asga saw Amelia about to get up, she stopped her, saying, "Let me do it, sister."
He muttered to himself as he walked toward the gate.
"Who could it be so late at night?"
'Buzz buzz buzz'
As Amelia sat down to rest, she suddenly felt her pocket vibrating. She reached into her pocket and rummaged around. It was the amulet that Strange had given her in the Third Trial Chamber. At that moment, the amulet was radiating high temperatures and its color had turned red.
A bad feeling swirled in her mind, and she immediately thought of what Strange had told her.
Amelia suddenly realized something was wrong and immediately got up.
"etc."
She quickly stopped her younger brother from getting up to open the door.
Few people in the entire Ministry of Magic knew the location of his house.
Lucius stood respectfully beside Voldemort outside the gate.
"This house is nice; we can use it as your meeting place from now on."
Voldemort stood with his hands behind his back and said calmly.
He not only wanted to kill people, but also to take over their houses. However, despite having the ability to force his way into the houses, he chose to knock on the door.
"Yes, Master."
The two waited for a while, but no one opened the door.
"Hehe, as expected of the Borns family, they are all so perceptive."
Voldemort chuckled and waved his hand, easily opening the door.
The room was completely empty; there wasn't a soul in sight.
After searching the house, Lucius exclaimed in surprise, "They ran away?"
No, obviously not.
Voldemort raised his finger slightly, and the space in front of Lucius seemed to be torn apart. Amelia, who was in an empty room, was pointing her wand at them.
"A very sophisticated illusion spell."
Voldemort exclaimed, his tone as if a teacher were praising a student: "Unfortunately, it couldn't hide it from my eyes."
"The others escaped using the fireplace? Don't worry, they can't have gone far."
"The Dark Lord!"
Amelia glared at Voldemort, speaking through gritted teeth. As a high-ranking official in the Ministry of Magic, she naturally recognized Voldemort's appearance. Her brother's entire family had been brutally murdered by this man; not a single man, woman, or child survived.
"Do you wish to duel, madam?"
Voldemort grinned, trying to act like a gentleman, but his appearance was truly terrifying and had nothing to do with being a gentleman.
"Lucius, step aside and let me have some fun with our Director of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement."
It was a tone completely like a cat chasing a mouse.
Lucius didn't say a word, but wisely stepped aside, leaving the seats to the two of them.
"Let me see your skills."
Amelia showed him no mercy, and attacked in a fit of rage, unleashing several extremely powerful spells.
They were all easily scattered by Voldemort.
The gap between Voldemort and ordinary wizards is not something that can be bridged by one or two spells, not to mention that although Amelia's magic is powerful, it is not powerful enough.
"Use dark magic, child."
Voldemort chuckled, "Your brother was like that back then; you even use similar magic."
He lowered his voice as he spoke.
"Do you know how many spells I used to kill him?"
Voldemort's smile grew increasingly cruel, relentlessly stimulating the other's senses.
"Just one Avada."
Voldemort's words ignited Amelia's anger, and she unleashed her strongest magic.
"Fall apart!"
The effect is similar to magic that pulverizes people, but its power is even greater.
Lucius outside the door would never have been able to withstand this attack, but Voldemort simply flicked his finger and easily blocked it head-on, without even casting a protective charm.
"You can't beat me. The difference between us is like heaven and earth. Your spells can't even hurt me."
Voldemort acted as if he were doing something insignificant, as simple as just blocking the clear spring.
This is why Voldemort was feared by the world.
His magic, his strength, and the magic he knows far surpass those of ordinary wizards.
Ordinary wizards are no different from infants in his presence.
With a flick of his finger, a green light struck Amelia, knocking her to the ground and even sending her wand flying.
He didn't even finish reciting the incantation.
Silent spellcasting.
"This is a really nice wand."
Voldemort tapped his fingers on Amelia's wand, placing his hands on either side of it: "Too bad he followed the wrong master."
With a forceful snap, the wand broke into two pieces, which were then casually tossed onto the ground like trash.
"Let me think... how should I kill you?"
Voldemort spoke slowly and deliberately, his tone as relaxed as if he were discussing what to eat for dinner.
Amelia struggled to reach her hand into her pocket.
"I'll use my most proficient killing curse."
Voldemort's fingertips emitted a faint green light as he aimed at Amelia.
At the same time, Amelia also crushed the amulet.
The next second, an image of a man appeared between the two.
