Hogwarts: I'm Harry's older cousin
Chapter 278 276 Master of the Demon Soup?
Chapter 278, Section 276: The Master of the Demon Soup?
In Potions class, Snape is teaching how to make an antidote for a potent wizarding poison.
Some of Durmstrang's students sat tensely in their seats, as if they were on pins and needles, trying to memorize every word Snape said, while others stared blankly at the ceiling, their minds wandering elsewhere.
To prevent cheating at Hogwarts and to better monitor the actions of the two Hogwarts warriors, Karkaroff voluntarily sent all the students except Victor to the fourth year.
He thought that going from sixth grade to fourth grade would be a breeze, but who would have thought that fourth grade at Hogwarts would be so insane, with the learning pace far exceeding that of sixth grade?
The result is that they fall even further behind. Imagine a group of underachieving students who believe in "happy learning" suddenly arriving in Haidian and Huanggang districts and studying, doing exercises, and taking exams alongside the students there.
Holy crap, it's giving me the creeps.
Even if you memorize every single word, you still won't understand what Snape is saying.
Unable to adapt at all, many Durmstrang students chose to give up and quit.
Snape didn't care about them; after all, they weren't his students, and whether they did well or poorly was none of his business.
Ron slumped onto the table, utterly dejected: "Can't the school just provide some normal food?"
Ever since that day when he tasted the fermented herring with Dudley and the others, Ron hasn't been eating properly.
He has no appetite and nothing tastes good. All he can think about is the smell of canned food. Even his favorite big chicken leg was placed in front of him at noon today, but he didn't touch it.
Okay, the main reason is to cater to Beauxbatons' tastes; today's chicken drumsticks are sweet, topped with a thick layer of jam and sugar.
Sweet chicken drumsticks, are they even meant for human consumption? This is the greatest disrespect to chicken drumsticks.
As expected, Ron was spotted by Snape while he was slumped over the table.
"Wetherby, if you want to sleep, go sleep outside."
Okay, now not only is the first name wrong, but even the surname is wrong.
But Ron didn't care.
As a true foodie, if I can't even care about food, then what is there to be afraid of?
Mr. Ronald was fearless.
Suddenly, a peculiar fragrance wafted into Ron's nose. It was a scent he had never smelled before. In that instant, he became alert and abruptly looked around.
"Someone's cooking in Potions class?!"
Soon, the peculiar fragrance grew stronger and stronger, filling the entire classroom. Not only Ron, but everyone else could smell it too.
Snape's face was dark and gloomy, as black as if it were covered in ink.
He obviously smelled it too.
It's incredibly audacious of someone to cook something during his class.
Did they even take him, the potions professor, seriously?
He wanted to see who dared to be so bold, and he was determined to let them taste the poison of the antidote he was taught today.
Do you really think Snape is a good-natured guy?
In an instant, Snape's sharp gaze swept over Durmstrang's position, frightening the group of young wizards into shrinking back desperately, afraid of being spotted by Snape.
No one is not them
Snape, having gained nothing, regretfully turned his gaze away.
If it's not from another school, then it's Hogwarts.
Let's start with the most daring Gryffindor.
However, it didn't matter.
Snape frowned. If it wasn't Gryffindor, then it could only be Slytherin (Potentially, Gryffindor and Slytherin were paired together for Potions class).
Following the scent, his gaze fell on Dudley's seat in the front row of Slytherin.
At that moment, steam was rising from Dudley's crucible, and Snape saw him throw in a handful of coriander, a plant belonging to the Apiaceae family of the Apiales order of dicotyledonous plants.
"Mr. Dursley, I think you'd better explain to me why you're cooking in my class."
Snape looked very angry. Although his tone was calm, his eyes held an unimaginable murderous intent. He addressed Dudley by his surname.
Dudley certainly had the privilege of doing other things during Potions class, but that was not a reason for him to cook food during Potions class.
Who gave him the guts?!
Even if he is Snape's favorite disciple, Snape will still teach him a lesson if he doesn't give a reasonable excuse.
The young wizards around them unconsciously shrank back; they didn't want to get caught in the crossfire. It was better for Dudley to bear Snape's anger alone.
"Professor Snape." Dudley looked up, tossed the chopped onions into the cauldron, and gave Snape a serious look. "I'm brewing a potion."
"What are you talking about?"
Seemingly not having heard him clearly, Snape's voice rose several decibels, and his tone became increasingly dangerous: "Repeat what you just said."
"I'm brewing a potion, Professor," Dudley repeated, meeting his gaze without flinching.
Snape was almost laughing in anger. He took three steps in two to get to Dali, and looked at the potatoes, cabbage, and tender white tofu cubes churning in the cauldron. His face was as ugly as could be.
You call this a magic potion?
What else could this be but a stew? Or a stew in clear broth!
He didn't know why Dudley did this, but he knew he was angry, very angry.
Don't assume that just because you're exceptionally talented...
Just as Snape was about to explode, a voice suddenly rang out from outside the door.
"Professor Snape!"
A young wizard in his early teens stood at the door.
"What is it?" Snape turned to look at him impatiently, his gloomy appearance almost scaring the young wizard to tears.
"Excuse me, sir, I must take Mr. Potter and Mr. Dursley upstairs." He said very nervously, "Mr. Bagman wants them there; all the warriors must go, as if there's something important to discuss."
"Very good, very good, excellent." Snape squinted at Dudley and said sternly, "Dursley, Potter, you two get out of my sight, now!"
"Professor, I know you may have some misunderstandings, but..."
Dudley ladled a bowl of fragrant soup and placed it in front of Snape: "This really is a potion."
After saying that, he didn't explain further, and led Harry away, following the young wizard who had given the message, disappearing outside the Potions classroom.
After watching Dudley leave, Snape hesitated for a moment before gently picking up the bowl of soup and carefully smelling it.
His expression quickly changed, and he hurriedly began stirring with the ladle in the crucible. When he lifted the ladle, he saw a peculiar material in the center.
This is the key ingredient of the antidote that he discussed in this lesson.
Only then did Snape's expression improve slightly.
He glanced meaningfully at the spot where Dudley had disappeared.
"He's only in fourth grade, but he's already found his own path, though he's not quite mature yet."
