Hogwarts: I'm Harry's older cousin
Chapter 25. I, Harry Potter, am not going to Hogwarts.
Chapter 25. I, Harry Potter, am not going to Hogwarts.
Under English law, citizens' private property is sacred and inviolable, and Hagrid's trespassing and subsequent killing by Dursley could only be considered self-defense.
Of course, this only applies to ordinary people; wizards are not required to abide by the laws of the Muggle world.
By the way, the word "Muggle" is actually an offensive and derogatory term; you could even translate it as "idiot."
Hagrid stood outside the door, looking dejected as he watched the gate being reinstalled. After a moment of contemplation, he silently rode away on his little motorcycle.
Dudley only breathed a sigh of relief after hearing the other person leave. He was still quite worried that Hagrid might react and start another conflict. He turned to his parents and Harry and said, "The annoying intruder has been driven away. Let's go back to sleep."
Dudley is very tired right now. His LV5 skill has almost exhausted his stamina. He just wants to rest now and can talk about everything tomorrow.
We must be very careful using this tactic in the future.
After saying that, he lay down on the sofa and fell fast asleep.
Vernon opened his mouth as if to ask something, but Penny quickly tugged at his sleeve. After exchanging glances, the two went upstairs.
Hagrid's arrival made the Dursleys realize that the wizards would definitely not let Harry go.
Compared to the worried Dursleys, Harry was filled with admiration for Dudley: "As expected of Dudley, he actually defeated that giant."
He had many questions for Dudley, but Dudley was asleep, so he could only keep his doubts to himself.
The next day, Dudley got up early due to good habits he had developed since childhood. After his morning exercise, the Dursleys and Harry got up late.
"Let's go home."
This was the first thing Dali said to everyone. His chubby baby face, covered in sweat, showed a maturity that was completely out of character for his age.
"I think we'll have some important guests coming to our house soon, like the one from yesterday."
The Dursleys quietly packed their luggage, and Vernon drove the car toward Privet Drive.
They remained silent the entire way.
After several hours' drive, we returned to that familiar two-story villa.
The owls outside the yard and near the mailbox had all left sometime earlier. A tabby kitten, seemingly just passing by, was watching the Dursleys carrying their luggage home with wide, curious eyes.
"Dali Baby."
Back home, Penny was about to say something when Dudley waved her hand to stop her.
"Before that, I think you should tell us some things, such as Harry's background, my aunt and uncle whom I've never met, well, Harry's parents, and those magical abilities. I think our family can be more honest with each other."
Dali emphasized the words "family".
Harry's eyes lit up. He glanced at Dudley, then at his aunt and uncle, and sat quietly in his seat, waiting for what was to come.
After hearing Dudley's words, Vernon and Penny fell silent, a rare occurrence for them.
They knew Dudley's character; the boy had never caused them any trouble since he was a child, whether in his interpersonal relationships or his studies. Even the harmonious relationship their family had was thanks to Dudley.
But this child is just too opinionated.
Tell them.
This is the result of Penny and Vernon's discussion last night.
At this point, there's not much point in hiding it anymore.
"Alright, since you want to know, I'll tell you. It all started when my sister and I were little."
As Penny narrated in a hoarse voice, that long-buried memory was revealed to Dudley and Harry.
The story is neither long nor short; it features wizards, magic, and ordinary people, filled with laughter, sorrow, and above all, helplessness.
When she was young, Petunia longed for the magical world. After Lily went to Hogwarts, Petunia sent letters to Dumbledore many times, hoping to go with him. However, she did not have the talent to be a wizard, so she was ruthlessly rejected by Dumbledore.
But this did not stop Petunia's yearning for the wizarding world. So, through many methods, she learned about Dementors, Death Eaters, and even some information about Voldemort, knowing that the man had killed many half-Muggles. Until she learned of her sister Lily's death, she completely gave up the idea of going to the wizarding world.
She agreed to adopt Harry knowing everything, and this was the last thing she could do for her sister. Perhaps she was an incompetent aunt, but she was a responsible sister.
The story abruptly ends when the narrator describes finding the sleeping baby in the cradle outside the door.
Needless to say, Harry knew that the baby in the cradle was himself.
After listening to Petunia's account, Harry said with a complicated expression, "So my parents weren't in a car accident, but were murdered?"
His parents died in a car accident, and the Dursleys told him this from a young age, which he has always believed.
"Harry, I'm sorry."
Penny stared apologetically into Harry's green eyes, as if she were seeing her own sister.
Harry shook his head slightly, looked at Petunia earnestly, and said sincerely, "You didn't tell me because it was for my own good."
After saying that, Harry bowed respectfully to Petunia.
"Thank you for taking care of me all these years. I'm sorry for the trouble you've caused."
Having grown up alongside Dudley, Harry was far more mature than most of his peers, and after learning all the information, he felt only deep respect for Petunia.
Hearing Harry say this, Vernon showed Harry a friendly attitude for the first time, looking at him with a face full of relief.
As for Penny, she covered her mouth tightly, her eyes glistening with a faint glow, her inner emotions finally overflowing.
"The methods used by that group were terrifying and cruel."
"Vernon and I don't want to see you either."
That night you lost your parents. I also lost my only sister.
At this point, Penny choked up completely.
"Penny, this isn't your fault."
A sudden sound rang out from outside the door, a sound that seemed to possess some kind of magic, bringing a sense of peace to the soul. The Dursleys' door slowly opened, revealing a kind-faced old man with a white beard and a tabby kitten at his feet.
"Eavesdropping on other people's conversations is a very impolite thing to do."
Dudley looked at Dumbledore outside the door with slight displeasure.
"Little one, please forgive me, I just happened to overhear."
Dumbledore winked at Dudley. He had originally intended to call Dudley "little guy," but Dudley was about the same size as him, so he changed his address.
"Let me introduce myself, Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts."
After listening to Petunia's heartfelt words about her mother, and considering what Harry had seen and heard in the past two days, especially the unpleasant experience at the seaside cottage, Harry developed an instinctive aversion to Hogwarts.
In particular, it caused Dudley to get injured. And when she thought about how she couldn't go to school with Dudley, or even that they might become people from two different worlds and never see each other again, she felt even worse.
Overwhelmed by grief and anger, Harry's eyes instantly reddened upon hearing Dumbledore's self-introduction. He felt a surge of heat coursing through his chest, making his eardrums buzz. Unable to bear it any longer, he roared at Dumbledore.
"I, Harry Potter, will never go to Hogwarts!"
