Chapter 219, Section 217: The Eyes of an Eagle, the Ears of a Wolf, the Speed of a Leopard, the Strength of a Bear
"Finally finished."
A joyful sound echoed in the quiet, deserted potions room, startling Hermione, who had fallen asleep nearby.
The prepared potions, illuminated by the dim light of the potion room, seemed to emit a faint green glow.
"Are you done?" Hermione sat up, stretched, and yawned softly.
He had his eyes half-closed, looking like he hadn't woken up yet.
"Um."
Dali nodded, yawned, rubbed his slightly dry eyes, and stretched his body.
Yawning is a contagious action.
Even if he didn't sleep for several days and nights, it wouldn't have a big impact on his physical condition, but he still felt a little tired after concentrating for a whole day.
Excessive focus can be mentally taxing.
He wasn't going to drink any energy-restoring potions; a good night's sleep would be more effective than anything.
"Gulong."
After relaxing, a thunderous sound came from Dali's abdomen.
"Pfft." Hermione couldn't help but laugh out loud, her clear, flowing laughter echoing through the classroom.
Hermione looked especially adorable under the dim light.
Dali scratched his face slightly embarrassedly: "Actually, you could have gone back to rest first. You should have already left the library and been resting in your dorm by this time."
"Reading alone is too boring." The subtext is that I want you to keep me company.
Seeing Dudley staring at her, Hermione blushed slightly, as if she had remembered something, and quickly picked up the basket on the table and handed it to Dudley.
"Eat something quickly, I brought your favorite German smoked sausages and lamb chops, as well as a roasted turkey leg."
Lifting the canvas covering it revealed a variety of delicious foods.
Hermione's earlier spell kept the food inside slightly warm.
It's just right for eating.
Dudley first washed his hands at the sink in the potions room, dried them, and then picked up a German sausage and began to chew on it.
This was one of Dudley's favorite foods at Hogwarts, made from finely minced pork and beef mixed with various spices and seasonings.
The rich aroma is mouthwatering, the golden and crispy crust provides a unique texture, and most importantly, it is juicy and delicious, with a rich meat juice and spice flavor. Every bite is full of the deliciousness of the meat juice, leaving you wanting more.
If you dip it in some yellow mustard, it's incredibly enjoyable.
"Delicious." Even the picky Dudley praised it.
He turned to Hermione, who had been watching him eat, and said, "Won't you have some?"
Hermione gently shook her head: "I've already eaten."
She did eat, but very little, and barely touched any meat. She felt she had gained some weight recently and planned to eat less.
Actually, she quite enjoys watching Dali eat; it makes her feel more satisfied than eating herself.
Dudley nodded and picked up the other food in the basket to eat.
To be honest, Dali doesn't really like the texture of turkey legs. They're dry and tough, even worse than chicken breast, and not very appealing.
The only commendable thing is that the portions are large and filling.
One of these is equivalent to eating a dozen or so regular chicken legs.
Dudley wolfed down the food Hermione had brought, quickly finished it, and then drank the pumpkin juice in one gulp before letting out a satisfied burp.
Eating not only provides experience, but it is also an extremely enjoyable experience.
"It's time to go back and rest."
Dudley carefully put away the potion on the table, locked the door with the key Snape had left on the table, and then walked into the castle with Hermione.
In terms of timing, it's already curfew time, and being caught by the patrolling professors would result in severe punishment.
But Dudley wasn't worried about that at all, because he wouldn't get caught.
Before they had taken more than a few steps, Mrs. Lorris appeared out of nowhere, walked in front of them, and very consciously took the initiative to lead the way.
The person's movements were so practiced that it was clear they had done it more than once.
With her as the little mole leading the way, there's absolutely no need to worry about being discovered. Not only the professor, but even Filch will be perfectly avoided.
Soon the two arrived at the Gryffindor common room.
Mrs. Lorris was rewarded with a small dried fish, and she left contentedly with the dried fish in her mouth.
"Go back and get some rest. See you tomorrow."
Dudley was about to wake Sir Cadogan, who was dozing off (the fat lady was still not back because of the attack) to open the door, when to his surprise, the door to the Gryffindor common room slowly opened, and the orange kitten Mimi meowed as she walked out.
Hmm. Perhaps "mimi meow meow" would be more appropriate than "muttering and cursing".
Crookshan was very clever and had very sensitive hearing. He opened the door a moment before Dudley and the others heard their voices.
Dudley pointed at Crookshanks, who was meowing incessantly, then turned to Hermione and said, "Hermione, did you forget to feed him when you left?"
Hermione was startled and covered her mouth, exclaiming softly, "Oh, I forgot."
Dali:
No wonder they complained; anyone who's been hungry all day would grumble and whine.
If one day you forget to feed your cat, and the cat keeps meowing at you, don't doubt it, it's scolding you.
"Here you go, I promise I won't forget to feed you next time."
After Dudley pulled something out, Crookshan instantly became obedient, his eyes fixed on it.
The dried fish I gave to Mrs. Lorice before.
No cat can resist this dried fish, unless it's not a real cat.
They snatched it in their mouths and enjoyed it immensely; in no time, a small dried fish was gone.
Crookshan began licking his paws.
He's an elegant gentleman; after eating, he naturally needs to clean up.
Suddenly Crookshank twitched its nose, as if it had smelled something. Following the scent, it walked to Dali's feet and started meowing at him again.
"You want it?" Dali asked, slightly taken aback, after hearing Crookshan's call.
Then he took out a small crystal bottle from his pocket, and judging from its color, it was the potion that had just been brewed.
Crookshank nodded frantically, just like Tom the cat in the cartoon, his eyes fixed on the crystal bottle.
"What is this?"
Hermione asked as she picked Crookshank up, but Crookshank's gaze remained fixed on the small crystal bottle, revealing an even stronger longing for it than for the dried fish.
"My latest potion doesn't have a name yet."
Dudley shook the crystal bottle, and the liquid inside emitted a mesmerizing color.
Then, holding up four fingers, he explained in a low voice, "By taking this potion, you can temporarily gain the abilities of four different animals."
Hermione tilted her head slightly, not quite understanding.
"Drink it, and you will gain the eyes of an eagle, the ears of a wolf, the speed of a leopard, and the strength of a bear."
