Hogwarts: I'm Harry's older cousin
Chapter 213, Section 211: Mr. Dursley, the Substitute Teacher
Chapter 213, Section 211: The Substitute Teacher – Mr. Dursley
Dali walked up to the podium and stood in the spot where Professor Luping usually stood.
"Professor Lu Ping is not feeling well today, so I will be teaching this class for the time being."
Professor Lu Ping's monthly appointment has arrived.
He is a werewolf, and he feels unwell for a few days every month. He will involuntarily transform, and in the transformed werewolf will lose his mind. This is the time that most werewolves hate the most. Fortunately, there are ways to deal with this situation, such as taking wolf venom potion.
Currently, there are two wizards at Hogwarts who can brew Wolfsbane Potion: Potions Master Snape and his most prized disciple, Dursley.
Dudley thus naturally took over as the temporary professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts.
The Dursley substitute wizards had absolutely no objections; he had already demonstrated his abilities back in first grade.
Many of the young wizards were even secretly excited.
Just as the young wizards in the classroom were cheering, another figure appeared at the classroom door.
"Quiet. Gryffindor -5 points deducted."
It was that familiar tone again, that familiar point deduction, that familiar Gryffindor penalty.
Snape walked in, his face very grim. Logically, Snape should have been the best choice for Lupin to have a substitute teacher.
However, they chose Dali as their substitute teacher.
Snape, as Dudley's assistant, helped complete the Defense Against the Dark Arts course.
He could have easily ignored it, but when he thought about Dudley being the one teaching the class, he decided to come and check it out.
"I didn't come here specifically for Dursley; I just didn't want him to embarrass me," Snape explained.
Dudley flipped through the booklet Professor Lupin had given him, which contained the course content he had arranged: "You have already studied Boggart, Red Hat, Kaba, and Grindelwald, so what is the content of this lesson?"
"I have a suggestion," Snape interrupted, his face etched with undisguised malice. "I think we should learn how to deal with werewolves. What do you think, Mr. Dursley?"
Dudley certainly knew why Snape chose the werewolf.
"Professor Snape, I have no objection." Dudley nodded in agreement.
Werewolves are the most common, widely spread, and most dangerous black magic creatures in the wizarding world. Young wizards will inevitably have to face them sooner or later. So what's the difference between learning them sooner or later?
Moreover, Dali happened to want to conduct an experiment.
"Professor Lu Ping usually teaches practical classes, so naturally, the substitute teacher cannot be an exception."
"I've heard there are werewolves in the Forbidden Forest, so I'll catch one."
Upon hearing this, not only the young wizards but even Snape stared at him in astonishment, his eyes seeming to say something.
Are you serious?
Snape meant that learning the theoretical knowledge was enough.
But Dali didn't think so. After all, it was his first public lecture, and it might be his last. He couldn't just let it pass by so easily.
"Then please have Professor Snape give us a brief introduction to werewolves. Give me an hour, I'll be right back."
Dudley was decisive and efficient throughout, giving Snape no time to refuse. By the time Snape realized what was happening, Dudley had already disappeared at the end of the corridor.
In a flurry of activity, completely disoriented.
"It's not a full moon now, so even if you capture him, it won't do you any good." Snape hadn't even had a chance to finish his sentence.
Inside the classroom, Snape looked at the young wizards, and the young wizards looked at Snape.
They stared at each other with wide eyes.
Snape, being Snape, quickly realized what was happening: "Now turn to page 394."
This page contains the content about werewolves from the textbook, which Snape knows by heart.
Dudley already knew that there were werewolves in the Forbidden Forest, but the Forbidden Forest was so vast that finding a werewolf was more difficult than finding a dragon.
However, he recently discovered the werewolf's whereabouts through a certain fire dragon.
What outsiders saw as a terrifying forbidden forest was no different from Dudley's backyard. An hour was already an excessive estimate.
A giant snake made of mud is darting through the forbidden forest at an incredible speed.
Dudley can't fly, so this is the fastest way to get around.
It's important to know that magical creatures, like ordinary creatures, have a sense of territory, even stronger than ordinary animals. This reckless behavior would undoubtedly cause a great commotion. However, magical creatures that sensed this aura, regardless of their strength, immediately hid far away.
Because they knew that person was coming.
The thousand-year-old serpent monster on the convex land is his mount, while the fire dragon and unicorn on the other side are his pets.
The memory of last year's slap that wiped out half of the eight-eyed spider swarm in the depression is still fresh in my mind. That unparalleled power taught the magical creatures in the Forbidden Forest a lesson.
They are magical creatures, lacking intelligence, but that doesn't mean they are stupid.
Can't afford to offend them, can't afford to offend them, can't afford to offend them
Dudley thus had a smooth journey, which he found somewhat regrettable, as he had planned to capture a few magical creatures along the way.
Forest bullies patrol the mountains online.
He soon arrived at his destination, a valley in the mountains.
"These are werewolves. Among the dark creatures, they are among the most dangerous to wizards."
Snape himself wasn't suited to lecturing from a script, but his unique tone, combined with his aura that could terrify young wizards just by standing there, portrayed werewolves as incredibly fearsome creatures who loved killing and bloodlust, and took pleasure in torturing people, making them a hundred or a thousand times more evil than the Dementors outside.
Many young wizards couldn't help but feel disgusted by werewolves after hearing this.
"So now, can anyone tell me the difference between a werewolf and a wolf?"
Unsurprisingly, Hermione was the first to raise her hand.
"Miss Granger, please answer."
Seeing the young wizards' reactions, Snape's mood improved considerably.
"They have shorter snouts and smaller pupils, making them look more like humans. Sometimes they can walk upright, and the hair on their tails is tufted. Most importantly, they are more aggressive towards humans than real wolves."
"That's right." Snape nodded with great satisfaction. "They are more aggressive towards humans than real wolves, so remember, they are very dangerous."
"A perfect answer, 10 points for discipline."
Snape won't give Gryffindor points, but he will give Discipline points, and each time he will give at least five points.
Hermione was just stating the general impression of werewolves in the wizarding world. Because some werewolves attack indiscriminately, their reputation is far worse than that of vampires who appeared in the same era.
Vampires and banshees are now considered human and can live normally with wizards, while werewolves are treated differently.
"So."
Just as Snape was about to continue the lesson, the classroom door was pushed open.
"I apologize, Professor Snape, and fellow students, for being late."
