Hogwarts: I'm Harry's older cousin

Chapter 192 190 Crook Hill? No, Puss in Boots

Chapter 192, page 190: Crook Hill? No, Puss in Boots.

"Of course, esteemed Mr. Dursley," the man called Gerald replied, squinting. "Please wait here for a moment."

Dudley wanted a cat, or more precisely, a cat with magical creature lineage.

Currently, in the wizarding world, there are two known feline magical creatures. One is the magical creature called Nekomatsuri in Japan. It looks no different from an ordinary cat, but when excited, it grows rapidly and has great destructive power. Its distinctive feature is that its tail forks into two at the end.

Another type is the magical creature called the cat-leopard in America. However, the cat-leopard is much more dangerous than the cat demon. Its danger level is 5X, the same as the fire dragon and the basilisk. Its size and appearance are somewhat similar to ordinary cougars or jaguars. It can walk upright and run faster than an arrow. It is said that its eyes have the ability to hypnotize and possess mind control.

Most importantly, cats and leopards that suffer a fatal attack will split into two, then four, creating a continuous cycle that makes them almost impossible to kill.

However, the two types of things that Jerome found for Dudley were clearly not the two mentioned above.

To reiterate, openly selling dangerous cats and leopards in England is a sure way to land him in Azkaban jail for life.

Soon, Jerome came in through the side door of the pet store carrying a cradle and placed it in front of Dudley, inside which lay a sleeping kitten.

Jerome began to introduce the kitten to Dudley.

"It has some cat and raccoon blood, as well as blood from some unknown magical creatures. Most importantly, it is quite intelligent. I think it should be the pet of your dreams."

It was a fluffy orange kitten, but the term "orange kitten" referred to its size. Despite being just a kitten, it had a round belly. In reality, it was probably a red Persian longhaired cat.

Its fur is fine and glossy, and it looks very healthy.

But its face is flat, as if it had once charged headfirst into a wall, and it has a fat tail that sticks up like a bottle brush.

These two characteristics greatly diminish the image of the kitten.

Dali didn't mind, but there were still some things he needed to ask.

"Manager Jeroen, you're not going to sell me any of the cats you can't sell, are you?"

Upon hearing this, Jero's smile became somewhat forced.

"How...how could this be?"

In fact, Dudley was right. Because of its appearance, almost no one paid attention to this kitten, even though it was very smart and had the blood of a cat-like creature and some unknown magical creatures, but it was not good-looking.

As pets, wizards value appearance more than bloodline.

If Dudley hadn't insisted on having a pet with the bloodline of a magical creature, Geralt wouldn't have thought of it.

"Just kidding, shop manager, I'll take him."

Hearing this, Gerald breathed a sigh of relief.

Dudley readily took out Galleons and paid Manager Jero for the kitten.

"What's its name?"

"Krookshan, you can give it a new name too. It's smart, it'll understand."

At this moment, the kitten seemed to be awakened. It twitched its ears and slowly opened its eyes.

The little guy seemed to know his fate, and didn't make a fuss, but just looked at Dali with great curiosity.

They look quite well-behaved.

If you ignore that big, flat face.

"Hey, you're my new zookeeper?"

A few meows rang out, but these sounds took on a different meaning in Dudley's ears.

Fantastic Beasts.

It truly has the lineage of magical creatures.

"He seems a bit smarter than that idiot Jeroen."

Crookshan circled Dudley once and meowed a few more times.

Jerome immediately exclaimed excitedly, "Look, Mr. Dursley, it's greeting you! It acknowledges you!"

"No, I don't think it's greeting me; it's insulting me."

Dudley completely ignored Jerome's nonsense.

"Hey, zookeeper, don't you think I look awful all naked right now? I think I need some new clothes."

A pair of boots, a belt, and a hat.

Crookshan kept meowing and twittering like a chatterbox.

As Dali listened to Crookshan's mutterings, a strange look appeared on his face.

boots?

Puss in Boots?

Dudley seemed to have thought of something, pointed to Crook Mountain below, and said to Gerald, "By the way, Mr. Gerald, could you please help me decorate it?"

Crookshan's eyes lit up as he listened.

"Ah, new zookeeper, looks like you have good taste, knowing I needed to dress up."

A moment later.

Dudley walked out of the pet store carrying a newly decorated flower basket. Crookshank sat in the basket with a grumpy expression. Its overall appearance hadn't changed much; it had neither boots nor a hat, only a large red bow tied around its body.

Since it's a gift, how can it not be tied with a bow?

Dudley quickly found Hermione trying on a robe at Madam Malkin's Robes Shop.

"This is a birthday present for you."

Dudley handed Crookshanks to Hermione with a smile.

Krokshan Mimi meowed twice.

"Alright, you're my zookeeper then. Hopefully, you're a bit smarter than that big guy."

Hermione looked very happy, and Dudley gave her a sweet smile, not minding the loose fur on Crookshanks' body, and hugged it tightly.

Hermione also really likes kittens.

"What's its name?"

Hermione asked excitedly.

"Meow Meow Monster"

Without thinking, Dali blurted it out.

"It sounds awful, even worse than Crookshanks!"

Crookshan kept meowing and waving its paws at the air, protesting incessantly.

The name "EMMMM"

Hermione wanted to say something, but couldn't find anything to praise.

"Okay, its name is Crookshank. Actually, I think the name Boss Cat is also quite good."

Actually, Cat Boss is alright.

Crookshan called out, but unfortunately, no one except Dudley could understand what it was saying.

"Dali, I remember you were a cat-like voice, weren't you? What was it just saying?"

Crookshan stared wide-eyed at Dali in disbelief.

That look seemed to say, "You can understand what I'm saying?"

"It said it really likes the name Meow Meow Monster," Dudley casually made up.

"You're talking nonsense!"

Crook Hill issued a protest.

"Look how happy it is," Dudley said, pointing to the thumping Crook Mountain Road.

"Emmmm, I don't think it's happy."

Crookshank was eventually able to use its original name, Crookshank.

"Meow Meow Monster" is really not a good name.

"By the way, Dali, there's something I'd like to discuss with you."

Hermione hugged Crookshanks tightly, then took out a densely written timetable and looked at Dudley solemnly.

Do you think I should choose so many courses?
