Chapter 148, Section 146: There's a Valentine's Day every month.

"Professors, I don't know if you've heard this ancient legend: 'When Slytherin left Hogwarts, he left behind a secret room containing his most precious possessions and all his knowledge, waiting for his successor to arrive and open it, purging all those who are not qualified.'"

Dali slowly revealed his "guess".

In comparison, Lockhart

"It was a dark wizard who brought Medusa," he stammered, unable to come up with a coherent story.

What's the Dark Wizard doing bringing Medusa to Hogwarts? Is it for a birthday party?! Or just to petrify a cat? But what does that have to do with the Chamber of Secrets?

"The Ministry of Magic caught what it believed to be the 'murderer' and dismissed him, but I don't think that's the case."

Dudley dropped another bombshell, looking at Dumbledore as he spoke, and Dumbledore was looking at him as well.

Lockhart didn't say anything this time, because he was already thinking about whether to find an excuse to resign from his professorship.

Dudley was interrupted by Dumbledore before he could finish speaking.

"Dullie, I think this matter should be left to the professor. You are both too young," Dumbledore said. Perhaps he too had his own schemes, perhaps he wasn't a competent professor, perhaps he wasn't a good brother either.

But he is essentially a good person.

Now that they know what it is, it's much easier to deal with. The basilisk is afraid of roosters crowing, and he remembers that Hagrid kept a lot of roosters.

"Professor Dumbledore, do you remember what you promised me?"

Dudley shook his head slightly, not intending to argue, and simply said, "It's only the second year, it seems Hogwarts isn't safe anymore."

This claim is most prevalent in Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw, except for Slytherin.

They believed that Mr. Dursley was not that stupid, and that there was no need for him to do something so pointless.

They preferred to believe that Crabbe or Goyle were the rightful heirs to the Chamber.

The professors formed patrol teams and patrolled the castle from time to time, but naturally they found nothing; they did not find any trace of the basilisk.

Actually, it wasn't entirely fruitless; at least during this period, the frequency of students going out at night dropped to the lowest level in Hogwarts' history.

Dudley once tried to get the tamed Cornish elves from the second-floor girls' restroom to the secret room in an attempt to find traces of the basilisk.

Letting such a dangerous thing roam around Hogwarts Castle is not Dudley's style. If anyone were to run into it, they might not be lucky enough to just be petrified.

Unfortunately, the guy seemed to have vanished without a trace.

When Dudley tried to investigate further, Dumbledore stopped him.

"You should try to trust the professors' abilities, try to trust us."

So Dumbledore said.

"Okay," Dali readily agreed.

He then made a special wizard card for each of his fellow members of the discipline group and instructed them to keep it close to their bodies.

This wizard card might not be able to block the Basilisk's Eye of Death Perception, but it can act as a mirror to reflect the effect, reducing the lethal effect to petrification.

Those words disappeared after the announcement of the opening of the secret room, as if they had never existed.

No further abnormalities occurred.

Days passed by one by one.

After the initial fervent attention from the young wizards, the matter gradually faded from their sight over time.

People's attention span is limited; once the hype dies down, they forget about it.

The peaceful period lasted until February 14th.

This day is called Valentine's Day.

Of course, if you want, there's a Valentine's Day every month, like White Valentine's Day, Black Valentine's Day, Rose Valentine's Day, and even Green Valentine's Day.

When the young wizards stepped into the Great Hall that day, they thought they had entered the wrong room. The walls were covered with large, dazzling pink flowers, and the entire room was decorated in pink. Heart-shaped confetti kept falling from the light blue ceiling, and the air was filled with a strong, nauseating fragrance.

"What happened? Was Hogwarts attacked by the Pink Devil?"

Ron pointed at everything around him that was pink and delicate, speechless with surprise.

"I think someone's gone crazy." Dudley pointed to Lockhart, who was wearing a bright pink robe in the professors' seat. The professors sitting next to him all had stern faces and their heads were down, trying their best not to let others see their expressions.

Pink is a color that not everyone can pull off.

Clearly, Lockhart is not included.

"Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!" Lockhart shouted happily, boasting, "So far, a total of 59 people have sent me greeting cards, and I want to express my sincere gratitude to them! Yes, I took the liberty of arranging this little surprise for everyone."

"He mentioned 59?" Hermione asked, then silently noted it down; it was an important clue.

Why do I have a bad feeling?

Looking at Lockhart, who was full of vigor on the stage, Harry suddenly said.

Whenever Lockhart makes a move, nothing good ever comes of it.

Ron chimed in, "No, Harry. I had the same feeling."

"I had the same feeling," Neville said third.

Then Malfoy

"I hope my premonition doesn't come true."

Their premonition came true the next moment.
