Chapter 121, 119. Lockhart: As expected of the Dursleys, they guessed my intentions.

"Oh, Merlin above, I'll add a full ten points to his name!"

Lockhart was extremely excited, even more so than by the success of his book's sales, because Dudley's perfect answers and his status as Jerry's teacher made Lockhart seem to regard him as both a fan and a confidant.

What could be more gratifying than having an author far superior to you who enjoys your book?

Lockhart patted Dudley on the shoulder forcefully, praising him repeatedly.

"This class has brought me so many surprises, so I want to give you a little surprise too." Lockhart bent down mysteriously and pulled out a large cage covered with a cloth from behind the podium, placed it on the table, and deliberately lowered his voice.

"From this moment on, be careful! My mission is to teach you how to defend against the most evil things known in the magical world! You will face the most terrifying things in this classroom. But remember, as long as I am here, you will be safe from harm."

"I only ask that you remain calm."

As Lockhart spoke, the cage began to shake violently, as if it really did contain some terrifying creature.

This caused many young wizards to unconsciously shrink back, while most others looked on with curiosity.

"I must ask you not to scream," Lockhart said again in a low voice, "That will enrage them!"

The classroom was quiet; everyone held their breath.

Lockhart lifted the veil, revealing the answer.

He said in an exaggerated tone, "A Cornish elf that I just caught."

Gryffindor: ? ? ?

Slytherin: ? ? ?

Cornish elves, a type of elf, are small, humanoid creatures with a bluish-gray hue, about eight inches tall, and pointed faces. They are very mischievous and love to play all sorts of tricks and pranks.

In terms of danger alone, it's not even as dangerous as a vixen.

It's not that they're not dangerous. These creatures possess strength far exceeding their size; two or three of them together can easily lift up an underage wizard. Especially when it comes to causing destruction, they are second to none.

However, the young wizards in the classroom didn't seem to take these little vandals seriously.

In their eyes, Cornish elves, gnomes, and vixens were all creatures of the same level, nothing to worry about.

A very simple spell can subdue them.

Some of the young Gryffindor wizards even let out undisguised sneers.

"What? You guys think it's funny?"

Lockhart was very unhappy with the young wizards' reaction; he had bought these Cornish elves from someone else at a high price.

This was all to give the young wizards a "surprise".

The result was only joy, not surprise.

"Alright." Seeing that no one was taking it seriously, Lockhart simply opened the cage door: "Let's see how you deal with them!"

Chaos erupted! The sprites burst out like rockets, flying all over the room. They began wreaking havoc, smashing windows, tearing books to shreds, and turning cabinets upside down.

Anything becomes troublesome when there are too many of it, and that's exactly what happened with the Cornish elves.

A few minutes later, almost all the young wizards hid under the table.

"Come with me and catch them! They're just little elves!" Lockhart, seeing that the young wizards understood the terror of the elves, rolled up his sleeves and stepped forward, waving his wand like a savior: "Peschipsy Pestronomi!"

However, nothing happened after that. Clearly, his spell had failed.

Hermione was one of the very few who didn't hide under the table. Seeing this, she couldn't help but rub her forehead and say, "I knew it, he's completely useless."

After Lockhart's spell failed, a Cornish elf flew over and snatched his wand.

Several elves immediately surrounded it, grabbing the wand together. Purple rays shot from the tip of the wand, creating fireworks in the classroom.

"Perhaps it's a side effect." Neville slapped away a little elf that was trying to get close to him.

Ron chimed in, "Look, now they have weapons."

"What should we do? Leave? Or help this idiot?"

Dudley answered him by clasping his hands together.

The transmutation circle on the back of his hand emitted a faint light, and the walls, ceiling, and floor of the classroom seemed to come alive. Countless large hands made of stone and wood stretched out from above and grabbed the group of mischievous little elves tightly.

The little sprite that was just wreaking havoc in the classroom was subdued in a single move the next second.

Spellcasting without a staff!

Before Lockhart could say anything, Dudley clasped his hands together again, and a new cage appeared on the desk. The hands put the Cornish elf he had caught back into the cage, and then the large hands made of stone and wood gradually disappeared into the walls, ceiling and floor.

There are a total of 132, not one more and not one less.

"Professor Lockhart, here's your wand." Dudley handed the wand to Lockhart. "You did this on purpose to make us practice, didn't you?"

"Hmm?" Lockhart was slightly taken aback at first, then immediately realized what he meant and quickly explained, "Of course... that's right. As expected of Mr. Jai Dursley, he was able to guess my intentions."

Then, feigning disappointment, he said to the young wizards who peeked out from under the table, "You have disappointed me. So many of you didn't see through it. Fortunately, Mr. Dursley guessed my deeper intention."

His expression, his attitude, and his tone made it seem as if it were really true.

Their shamelessness is so extreme that even the corner of the city wall would have to admit defeat.

"For this, Mr. Dursley has earned another ten points."

Lockhart spoke nonsense with a straight face, and quite a few young wizards were actually fooled, genuinely believing that Lockhart was doing it on purpose.

Just then, the bell rang, signaling the end of get out of class.

"Then, Professor Lockhart, we'll be leaving now."

Dudley then called to Hermione and the others, picked up the cage, and headed out of the classroom.

When he removed the cage, the desk, which was originally level with the other desks, became much shorter.

Equivalent exchange cannot be created out of thin air unless the Philosopher's Stone is used.

"Where are you taking them?" Lockhart asked reflexively.

Dudley's staffless spellcasting had left a deep impression on him.

Without a doubt, that is the mark of an excellent wizard.

"This guy might be stronger than me."

Lockhart thought to himself, completely lacking self-awareness.

"Professor, they are now my spoils."

Dudley, with his back to Trott, said in a slow but penetrating voice, "How I deal with the spoils is my business."

Under the watchful eye of the data, several large characters reading "tamable" were written above the heads of these Cornish elves.

The time has come for the magical animal domestication techniques to come into play.

I'm feeling dizzy, lightheaded, and have body aches, so I'm taking a break today with only one update. I'll resume two updates tomorrow.

Two pieces of advice for everyone:

1. Although sugar is delicious, you can't eat too much, otherwise you'll have to pull your teeth, which will be extremely painful.

Second, never get a positive result again. Gingivitis caused by tooth extraction, coupled with a positive result again, is simply unbearable.
