Chapter 10. Activating the Magician's Talent? (Seeking votes during the new book launch period)

"I cannot cast spells. Therefore, I cannot teach you magic."

Mrs. Figg put the basket aside and sat down in front of Dudley, saying regretfully.

Dali could sense a deep sense of disappointment in those words.

Being born in the magical world but unable to learn magic is beyond just a regret.

"Even if I knew magic, I couldn't teach you. To learn magic, you have to go to Hogwarts; that's the rule in the wizarding world."

As Mrs. Figg spoke, she began to tidy up the messy room.

One cat is enough to cause trouble, but three cats plus a monster book are like wreaking havoc in the heavens.

"Hogwarts?"

"Can I go to Hogwarts too?" Dudley asked, as if possessed.

Mrs. Figg shook her head: "I don't know, child."

Dudley's question was exactly what she expected; no child who knows about magic doesn't yearn for it.

In fact, Mrs. Figg knew that Dudley most likely wouldn't be able to go to Hogwarts.

The children of Muggles are basically still Muggles.

The large number of Muggle wizards is based on the huge Muggle population.

It's not one in ten thousand, but it's not far off.

The probability of randomly picking a Muggle child and finding that the child is a Muggle wizard is not much lower than winning the lottery.

As the two chatted casually, the room was quickly tidied up.

"Alright, son. I need to prepare dinner; Harry'll be home from school soon."

Just as Mrs. Figg was about to close the door, Dudley pulled out a black-covered book from somewhere.

"Mrs. Figg, may I read this book?"

The words "Magic Potions and Elixirs" were written in large letters on the cover.

This is the Potions textbook for first-year students at Hogwarts.

The author is Assani Giger, a wizard who is very skilled at making potions.

As for why a Squib would have magic books in his house...

If she can't learn it, can't she at least buy it and take a look?

What if Mrs. Figg's magical talent awakens one day?

Dudley quickly said before Mrs. Figg could refuse.

He said this from the bottom of his heart; he truly longed for magic.

Perhaps it was Dudley's sincere gaze, or perhaps it was Dudley's words, "I really want to learn magic," that touched Mrs. Figg.

She agreed to Dudley's request.

Dali felt so embarrassed that he wanted to cover his face.

Mrs. Figg was silent for a moment, then continued, "Even if there are problems, it doesn't matter, I don't like this book anyway."

From then on, apart from attending school and exercising every day, Dudley spent his time at Mrs. Figg's house engrossed in reading "Potions and Magic."

The page Harry was looking at happened to be explaining the differences between Aconitum carmichaelii and Aconitum davidii.

It will be tested.

Dudley had a happy time at Mrs. Figg’s house, where there were cats, magic books, and he could freely make delicious food.

Life is full of joy.

It's so refreshing to swim in the ocean of knowledge.

A month later, Dudley finally finished reading the entire book, "Potions and Elixirs of Magic".

What's missing now is practice.

Mrs. Figg would certainly not allow a child who wasn't even a wizard to do something as dangerous as making potions. After all, she was a Squib, and if anything happened, she wouldn't be able to stop her.

And so Dudley's potion-making training came to an end.

Just as Dudley was wondering if he could get another magic book from Mrs. Figg to read, the system notification sound, which hadn't appeared for a long time, rang out again.

"Complete the learning task: Finish learning the first magic book."

"Reward: Activate Shinji Matou's Magician Talent."

That's the downside of this system; sometimes it's just hindsight.

They don't proactively post tasks; they only notify you of the reward after you've completed them.
