Chapter 56 Spider Totem

"Of course you can, but how are you going to explain to your family that you suddenly have a new sports car?"

Hawking asked with a smile.

Peter scratched his head:

"I really haven't thought about it yet."

That's true. If he suddenly spends 100,000 to buy a new sports car, his uncle and aunt will definitely ask him where the money came from, and he can't tell the truth, which will cause a lot of trouble.

Seeing this, Hawking offered a suggestion:

"Here's what we're saying. You said you really like photography, right? I'm quite familiar with the owner of the Daily Bugle. I'll get you a part-time reporter's pass."

When you get back, tell them you accidentally took some very valuable photos. The owner of the Daily Bugle is very impressed with you and has invited you to work part-time during the holidays. He's even willing to lend you his sports car to drive around in the last few days before graduation.

"You even know the owner of the Daily Bugle!"

Peter's eyes widened instantly.

Photography is one of his few hobbies besides studying, and he has always wanted to become a journalist in addition to becoming a scientist.

While the Daily Bugle wasn't the largest newspaper in New York, it was still quite well-known, and he certainly knew that.

"I can take you to see them in a bit, and we can buy the car while we're at it. By the way, do you have a driver's license?"

Hawking nodded. He was only fifteen years old. In New York, you have to be at least sixteen to get a driver's license. If Peter didn't have a driver's license, the two of them wouldn't be able to drive the car even if they bought it.

He can't just cast a spell on every traffic cop he encounters, can he?

"I have it, and I always carry it with me!"

Peter immediately pulled his driver's license out of his bag.

He's already seventeen years old this year, and he'll be going to university after summer vacation. How could he not have a driver's license? He's even driven Uncle Ben's old car several times.

"Let's go then."

Hawking stood up, waved, and rode his motorcycle with Peter Parker to the headquarters of the Daily Bugle.

Peter met Jonah Jameson at the Daily Bugle and got him to get him a part-time journalist's pass. Then he took Peter to a car dealership and bought him his first sports car in cash.

"It's so cool!"

Watching Peter lovingly caress his newly acquired sports car, Hawking hopped on his motorcycle and laughed:

"It's yours now, but don't forget, 11 p.m., Queen's Park."

"no problem!"

Peter immediately nodded like a chick pecking at rice.

Hawking, who had just bought a sports car, felt incredibly proud at this moment.

It feels like your roommate, whom you met when you first entered college, suddenly buys you a sports car, and all you have to do is spend an hour or two each day during your college years helping him find people, and you can even ask for leave anytime.

Do you think this roommate is great or not?

After waving goodbye to Peter, Hawking rode his motorcycle back to the mutant school, but on the way, another question came to mind.

That is, will Peter's uncle Ben still die?

Logically, now that Peter has the money to buy a car, he shouldn't be fighting in underground boxing matches, nor should he be arguing with his uncle Ben. Ben shouldn't be driving to find him and then being mistakenly killed by robbers.

However, he once saw a short video that said Spider-Man's abilities do not actually come from mutations or technological abilities, but from magical abilities.

When Spider-Man experiences mental health issues or his beliefs falter, the magical abilities within him are also affected and temporarily disappear.

Spider-Man's abilities actually come from the Spider Totem. Every universe is destined to have a Spider-Man. The biting spider only works when it bites someone chosen by the Spider Totem; biting others is useless.

Each Spider-Man, once chosen, loses a loved one—perhaps a family member or a lover.

If that's really the case, then even if his influence allowed Ben to escape this time, he won't be able to escape the next.

However, there's nothing he can do about it now; he can't be by Ben's side every day.

And even if he followed him every day, it wouldn't make a difference. This involves a higher level of power, like fate, which he can't contend with right now.

That's why he strives to become strong.

Marvel has too many extraordinary beings. If you are not strong enough, they can easily manipulate you, making you live or die at will, and causing your family to break apart.

These multiverse-level deities are the most terrifying beings.

It's 11 p.m. at Queen's Park.

Peter had been waiting there for a long time, arriving half an hour early in case he was late.

When he drove home in his sports car that night, he was subjected to a severe interrogation by his uncle, but he managed to get away with it by using his part-time journalist ID and some of Hawking's teachings.

Uncle Ben and Aunt Mei are getting old and usually go to bed around nine o'clock, so he can go out without worrying about being discovered after nine o'clock.

"What is it?"

Peter was sitting on a park bench, focusing his attention on the park entrance, waiting for Hawking to arrive on his cool motorcycle, when suddenly he seemed to sense something and quickly turned around to look up at the sky.

"You can do it like that!"

His exceptional eyesight allowed him to spot the tree trunk flying rapidly from a distance and Hawking standing on it at a glance.

"boom!"

The tree trunk pierced the park's lawn, and Hawking landed gracefully, appearing right in front of him.

"Hello, Peter, you're here early."

"I thought you would appear from the door, but I didn't expect it to be like this. It's really beyond my expectations."

Peter looked at the tree trunk stuck in the lawn, then at Hawking, his face full of surprise.

Hawking shrugged:

"This is faster. The Bronx and Queens are separated by the sea, and cycling through Manhattan would be a waste of time."

If you'd like to learn, I can teach you next time.

Don't let Peter Parker's seemingly insignificant appearance fool you; he spends his days swinging on webs and taking down insignificant criminals.

In fact, Spider-Man's maximum strength is as high as 25 tons. If he mastered a few techniques, it wouldn't be impossible for him to replicate Stephen Hawking's tree-riding flight.

"I want to learn!"

Using spider silk to move quickly is only possible in cities; in places like deserts and grasslands, you'll have to run on foot.

If you learn this trick, you won't have to worry about those problems anymore, and it's really cool, isn't it?

"By the way, didn't you prepare any clothes to cover your face? Aren't you afraid of being recognized?"

At this point, Hawking noticed that Peter was still wearing his school uniform.

Perhaps because he always remembered Spider-Man wearing that bodysuit, he forgot to remind him during the day.

"Oh no, I forgot!"

Peter then realized that since it was his first time, he hadn't thought of so many details. If a photo of him were taken and published in the newspaper, and Uncle Ben saw it, he would be dead.

"What do we do now?"

What kind of clothes do you want?

Hawking asked.

Peter immediately took out his pen and paper and quickly drew a piece of clothing.

"I want this, but it's too late now."
