Chapter 40 The Lord of the Rings and the Magic Wand

Chapter 40 The Lord of the Rings and the Magic Wand

After returning to his room and taking a shower, Hawking took out his computer and began watching the news.

This is one of the things he does every day without fail.

Don't underestimate the news that ordinary people can see. Many journalists in this world are truly risk-taking for firsthand news, daring to venture into any dangerous situation.

Sometimes, when something major happens, the news reports it before government agencies have even had a chance to react.

Watching these news reports regularly also helps him understand what's happening outside of school, and he can see clues about some major events.

"Stark Industries CEO Tony Stark left in a car with three Hollywood actresses midway through last night's new product launch celebration."

As always, the headlines were dominated by playboy Tony Stark.

"It's a pity it was a few years too early, otherwise we could have made a fortune off Iron Man being kidnapped."

He shook his head regretfully and clicked the mouse to go to the next page.

During the time Tony Stark was kidnapped, Stark Industries' stock price plummeted, and when he returned and announced the closure of the weapons production line, the stock price fell to its lowest point.

If you had bought in large quantities at that time, and waited for Tony Stark to become Iron Man and the stock price to rebound significantly, you would have made a fortune.

Unfortunately, it's only 2003 now, and there are still six or seven years before Tony Stark, the playboy, is kidnapped. He can't wait that long.

However, he considered whether he could get a feel for it beforehand, since technology products like gravity chambers were probably an area Tony Stark was good at.

"Will Oroman be crippled by its exploration of spaceflight or the potential loss of numerous contracts to Austrones Industries?"

The headline on the second page immediately caught Hawking's attention.

Oscorp Industries... He seemed to recognize that name. Was it the company of the Green Goblin?

After thinking about it carefully, I realized that in the Spider-Man movies, there was a villain named Green Goblin, and his company seemed to be called Oxley Industries.

However, as of now, he has not found any news reports about Spider-Man.

This is Universe 838, not the main universe he's familiar with, so he currently has no idea which Spider-Man it is.

It's important to know that while Spider-Man exists in every universe, the Spider-Man in each universe is not the same.

There's a Tobey Maguire version of Spider-Man who can shoot his own webs, as well as the Amazing Spider-Man, the Spider-Man from the main universe, Spider-Gwen, the Black Spider-Man, Spider-Ham, the British Spider-Man, Spider-Man from Evangelion, and so on.

Different Spider-Men may be born at different times, or even in different cities.

If it were the little spider from the main world, it would probably only be two or three years old now.

"Green Goblin seems to be a very capable scientist. His hang glider is quite good. We could consider getting in touch with him."

Oswald Industries primarily researches genetics and military weapons. While not as large as Stark Industries, it is still considered one of the top large-scale military industrial enterprises.

He continued browsing the news and soon came across another valuable story.

"Dr. Reed Richards, a leading figure in multiple fields including engineering, mathematics, and physics, is facing bankruptcy. Can he pull through?"

"Dr. Reed Richards, isn't this Mr. Fantastic?"

Mr. Fantastic, one of the Fantastic Four, possesses rubber-like abilities and is hailed as the smartest person on Earth. However, it seems that he has not yet been mutated by cosmic radiation.

He hadn't heard anything about the Fantastic Four in the last two years.

"If you have time, you can focus on getting to know this person better."

After reading through all the news articles and finding nothing of value, Hawking shut down his computer, picked up an ebony ring from the table next to him, and put it on the index finger of his right hand.

Then he pointed to his head:

"A sudden whirlwind!"

A small whirlwind immediately appeared above his head, quickly drying his hair.

Indeed, that ebony ring was not an ordinary ornament, but rather something akin to a magic wand.

After the Beast returned to school, Hawking would hand his wand to the Beast every day after loading the Harry template to assist in the research.

After a full month, the Beast was finally able to use his newly made machine to add properties similar to those of a magic wand to corresponding items, helping Hawking to cast spells more consistently.

It's practically a scientific enchantment.

In addition to enchanting the adamantium rod, Hawking also added an ebony ring.

The adamantium staff is only used in combat and is not convenient to carry around at other times, but the ring can be worn on the hand to help him cast magic at any time.

As for why ebony was chosen instead of hard metal, it was mainly to guard against Magneto.

Don't be fooled by the fact that he and Magneto seem to have a good relationship now, and Magneto occasionally visits Xavier's School of the Rising Sun. Just because Magneto does that doesn't mean Magneto will stop causing trouble.

In fact, he knew very well that Magneto was currently accumulating strength and constantly looking for potential mutants to join his Brotherhood of Mutants, just like that Pyro from the school, who was tricked by Magneto into joining the Brotherhood.

Once Magneto feels he has a chance to destroy humanity, he will show absolutely no mercy.

He could even kill Professor X when he needed to, let alone him.

Therefore, even without loading the Harry template and without a spell-casting wand, he could still cast spells smoothly with his wand and ring.

With some effort and practice in the future, I'll be able to cast spells without a staff and silently someday, then I won't need to do any of this anymore.

"It's almost time to eat."

After drying his hair and checking the time, Hawking put on his coat, pushed open the door, and walked towards the cafeteria.

Although the students hadn't finished class yet, Mr. Yug, the cafeteria worker, had probably already prepared enough dinner for him.

To avoid Mr. Yug being too busy, and also to avoid any unnecessary trouble when having meals with everyone.

His breakfasts are always served before the students get up, and his lunches and dinners are always scheduled during the students' last class.

By the time everyone arrived at the cafeteria for lunch, he had already finished eating and left.

So he also had a nickname among the mutant students at the school: "The Mysterious Hawking".

Despite being in the same school, they found it difficult to encounter Hawking. They could only catch glimpses of him exercising through the window during class.

It is precisely this sense of mystery that makes him more attractive to students.

It's not that Hawking was antisocial; it's just that his mental age was what it was. Asking him to chat and become friends with eleven or twelve-year-olds was really asking too much of him.

You see, in his spare time, he gets along quite well with his teachers like Wolverine and Cyclops. Occasionally, he'll even borrow Cyclops's cool modified motorcycle to go for a spin around.

And indeed, in order to digest the power brought by the Saiyan and wizard bloodlines as much as possible, he really didn't have much time.
