Chapter 27 The Situation Reversed

Chapter 27 The Situation Reversed

"What? S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are not allowed to enter the mutant school grounds, are not allowed to monitor mutant students and their families, and are not allowed to disrupt your lives."

Professor Charles, aren't your demands a bit too much?

As S.H.I.E.L.D., responsible for maintaining peace and security for all humanity, we have the right to intervene in any situation that threatens human safety!

Nick Fury replied angrily.

For some reason, ever since the face-to-face negotiations began, he noticed that Professor X's tone had become much tougher, and he had offered all sorts of conditions that he found unbelievable.

With S.H.I.E.L.D. already involved, how could you possibly go back to your old life?

"Even if the attack on the president really had nothing to do with you, it is undeniable that your Mr. Kurt was the executor. He does have the ability to teleport, which in itself is a threat."

Professor Charles, I can grant your other requests, but there's one condition: all information about mutants must be registered in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s database so that we can respond promptly in case of danger.

"Of course, I can assure you that this information related to mutants will only exist in our S.H.I.E.L.D. database and will not be leaked to any other agency, including the CIA and the FBI!"

Nick Fury gave his final bottom line.

"Director Fury, let me tell you clearly, that's impossible. Most mutants aren't as dangerous as you think. On the contrary, they've always faced various dangers from humans."

If any crisis really occurs because of mutants, you can let me know, and I'll take my X-Men to resolve it.

Professor X decisively rejected Nick Fury's request, as this was also his bottom line.

"Professor Charles, you must understand that if we continue fighting, you will be the ones who lose in the end. I am only willing to negotiate with you here because I don't want the situation to get out of control."

Nick Fury's tone also began to become assertive.

Professor X doesn't trust him, and he doesn't trust Professor X either. Giving mutants dangerous control over their lives is a joke.

Moreover, they currently hold the upper hand, and he believes that as long as they persevere to the end, Professor X will be the one to compromise.

As Nick Fury's voice faded, the atmosphere instantly became tense.

Just as the situation was about to erupt, a cold voice suddenly broke the stalemate.

"Charles, I've said it before, humans have always been like this. They're always afraid of creatures different from them, and sooner or later they'll wipe out all of us mutants. Now you should realize that."

Magneto!

Upon hearing this voice, Nick Fury's pupils instantly contracted, and he turned to look at Magneto, Mystique, and Hawking as they stepped off the Quinjet.

Only then did he realize that Hawking's disappearance was not because he was changing clothes in the fighter jet.

Instead, they somehow managed to sneak into the Quinjet right under his nose and rescue Magneto and Mystique.

"I was careless."

Nick Fury quickly turned to look at Captain Marvel beside him.

"Grab him!"

"Snapped!"

Magneto snapped his fingers, and the brainwave jammers on the necks of Nick Fury, Captain Marvel, Captain Carter, and all the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents instantly shattered.

Then, it fell into a state of stagnation, as if time had stopped.

Hawking's purpose in releasing Magneto was not to team up with him to fight the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With his current strength, even if they joined forces, they would have no chance of winning.

His goal was to get Magneto to destroy the brainwave jammer, so that Professor X's terrifying mind control abilities could take effect.

"Eric, they don't represent all of humanity. Don't just give up on humanity like this."

Professor X replied with a smile.

Magneto simply shook his head upon hearing this and said nothing more. He couldn't persuade Charles, and Charles couldn't persuade him either.

As longtime friends and rivals, they know each other best.

"what!"

Just then, Captain Marvel let out a roar and broke free from Professor X's mind control.

"I advise you not to move, otherwise they might all lose their lives."

Hawking was not surprised to see this, and pointed to Nick Fury and the others who were frozen in place.

Because Captain Marvel absorbed the enormous energy of the light-speed engine, she is basically no longer human. Her internal energy is off the charts, and her resistance in all aspects is terrifyingly strong. She has no weaknesses at all.

Therefore, while Professor X's mind control certainly had an impact on her, it did not play a decisive role.

"What do you want?"

Captain Marvel looked at Professor X with a serious expression.

She naturally knew Magneto and Professor X's abilities, and understood that no matter how fast she was, she could never outrun Professor X's will.

Moreover, there's Stephen Hawking, who can transform into a giant ape at any time, and Magneto, who is no pushover either.

"We just don't want to be disturbed, nor do we want to start a war with humanity. Please tell Director Fury that I will be at your headquarters in two days with Colonel Stryker and evidence of his crimes to have a proper talk."

Professor X left a message and then led everyone onto the fighter jet.

Once the X-Fighter had completely disappeared from the sky, Nick Fury and the others returned to normal.

"Frey, how are you?"

Upon seeing this, Captain Marvel immediately stepped forward to inquire about the situation.

Nick Fury stared blankly at all the mutants and X-Men that had suddenly vanished from his surroundings, a flicker of confusion crossing his eyes before he realized what was happening and looked at Captain Marvel:

"Did Professor X activate his ability?"

"Yes, he told me to tell you."

Captain Marvel nodded and gave a brief account of what had just happened.

After listening, Nick Fury couldn't help but sigh.

"It seems the Avengers need to be assembled as soon as possible."

"Chief Fury, I actually think what Professor Charles said makes a lot of sense; they are victims too."

At that moment, Captain Carter walked over with his shield.

Influenced by her former lover Steve, she has some ideological conflicts with the current Nick Fury. She came here to help capture the mutant who attacked the president.

However, based on the current situation, the real mastermind does not seem to be a mutant.

If she had known it would be like this, she wouldn't have fought for Nick Fury. She would have been better off going to find the missing Steve Rogers or visiting Bucky, who was seriously ill in the hospital.

In 1945, in order to stop Red Skull from releasing Hydra from another dimension, she single-handedly pushed Hydra into the other dimension and then fought hard to kill it inside.

We had agreed to go dancing with Steve after we met, but when the space reopened, I didn't see Steve, Howard, or Bucky. Instead, I saw a one-eyed, bald black man.

He identified himself as Nick Fury, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., which was formerly known as the Strategic Scientific Corps.

Tragically, in those few minutes in the alternate dimension, fifty-five years had passed outside.

Howard is dead, Bucky is old, and her lover Steve Rogers disappeared 55 years ago and his whereabouts remain unknown.
